honestly i'll be fr, i just don't even give a shit about most triple a games except for what capcom, sega and rockstar put out, even then i ignore gta online with all my heart not only are they absurdly expensive on launch, most of them aren't even good as games 90% of the time, and if compared to indie products they are EXTREMELY outpaced gaming isn't dying, it isnt dead, the artists just mostly stopped working for greedy fucks and decided to make actual art ultrakill is imo a contender for best game of all time, and it's an indie game in early access, pizza tower is insanely fun and celeste too + it has a great story you never look for super mainstream slop to get the good stuff, even digging just a liiiittle deeper is where you find that GOOD shit, because then you have games that treat themselves as actual art instead of products altho i will admit it is quite sad to see god of war become a sony movie game but it is what it is also modern fps games are good when they're not multiplayer i find, only multiplayer fps game i like is tf2, while doom, dusk, ultrakill, half life, quake etc are all fucking incredible

Gaming isn't at all dead, just stop playing games published by EA, Ubi, Bliz, Epic or any microsoft studio Also stop playing games that patch to encourage the existing meta instead of patching to add more fun and interesting mechanics Once you follow these two rules you will find out that actually 2023/2024 have been some of the best years in gaming ever

Bro gaming was more dead in 08. Digital distribution didn't exist meaning indie Devs all had to sell off to major studios and basically all was getting made at that time was sequels due to the massive cost and having to physically distribute too which is very expensive Just go watch some videos with Devs from back then. Meanwhile today outside of mainstream triple A the game industry is continuously pumping out extremely interesting games. I mean just go watch some of Adam Millard games or look at the most popular early access games on steam. Fuck what about the brand new genre that game out on the last 2 years of survivorlikes?
