Friend zone means you have interest in him/her romantically but you are acting as her platonic friend. This is usually due to fear of rejection so you are afraid to ask them out. Good Job, Tripp this is a very hard subject in dating. I really struggled in this area about two years ago with someone who I really liked who I would flirt with and give attention to while she was in a really toxic relationship. I would get some strong flirtatious tension from her at really convenient times when she would be out of the relationship. What I mean by tension is long prolonged eye contact smiling at one another, imitate physical touch like her squeezing my bicep or stroking my back, and overall making an attempt to get my attention because you're right attention can be really addicting. The biggest mistake I made was holding back and not speaking how I was feeling about it and when things came out on the social circle she got pissed and we cut each other off. As much as I can say what I experienced was real, it wasn't real genuine attraction and all it caused was me getting hurt and had to go through counseling to rebuild from that experience. What I have learned from this experience is as men you have to be intentional of what you want from a girl and be masculine with the risk of being rejected. Men go into the friend zone because they are afraid communication and unapologetic masculinity will offend a girl who they treat like a friend. Do not be a safety net for a girl who just likes your attention but doesn't actually want to be romantically invested in you.

Spoke straight to me with this video. I mean nailed every aspect of what I'm currently going through, or well at least was going through. I just squashed that whole situation a few days ago. Bad part is I work with this girl (although we don't necessarily work together, just in the same department. Listen.. there is one grand make all - do all, and that is get in the gym and get fit. Even if it takes you a year or two, get in the damn gym, eat good and make yourself look better. I went from a nobody having nobody, to "pick as I please" in a matter of 15-20 months. Youre not getting far with initial attraction if you cant sport atleast a decent body, if your health permits it. Better yourself mentally AND physically, and the rest will come, I fucken guarantee it.

Literally just happened to me. All you have to do is AGREE and then say, " You are so awesome .. who do you know that would love to be with a guy like me?" .. This does two things... this now stirs up sexual attraction from her or she will actually think of someone that she knows who might like you. The friend zone is nothing to be afraid of if you know how to use it to your advantage!

I don't ignore the women im friends with but if they want to be friends then i treat them exactly like my other friends. Meet up maybe once every 4 to 6 weeks and a text every 3 weeks or so just to "check in". Anything else is asking me to be more than a friend defeating the definition. That way you keep the moral high ground by not being perceived as a man-child in not being able to handle rejection (which you clearly can, more maturely than any other guy she'll probably get single mothered by) and more importantly the trash takes itself out eventually for lack of effort they feel entitled to.
