As I sit here literally in awe, tears streaming, I was praying prior to watching this message, and my prayer was about Simon Peter. I told God just show me where to go, what to do, where to cast my net. Then I hit play. I’m facing the darkest place I have ever faced but praising God for using my dumb decisions to pivot me into His purpose. Thank you for preaching His truth. Use me Father for your purpose, for your Kingdom. Use my boat

Don't be so hard on yourself. God doesn't ever want us to be so self-judging, in the same way He doesn't want us judging others. I learned through a 12 step program at my home church that when we are in the dark, we will do things out of darkness. Of COURSE God will turn His back for a minute, because sin and God do not coexist, but He is still with You, loving You, and ready to catch you. He does not put any shame and blame for Your past, present, and future sins. We just have to learn to trust Him with every consequence of sin (whether its our sin or another who put that there.) Sometimes the logs in our eyes weren't even our logs to begin with, but we can be responsible for OURSELVES, and be the change we want to see in the world. Amen!

But that's what makes it. So awesome. I have seen the dark. I have lived in the dark. That's where I was my best. I didn't want to come to the light. But what I've realized over the last couple days listening this man sermon. Is this even in the dark? I was in the light. Cool, is that I had no idea what this meant then. But even in the darkest of dark looking back I was in the light. And also what I've learned is there is no dark. And how cool is it to learn lessons from God? That question my faith quite a bit. He got your back.

Ive never felt so uncertain in my life before. All that i knew, all that i was going to is all gone. Everything is upside down. Even though i don't feel God sometimes, even though its hard to believe thaf God would ever use an average commoner like myself to bring glory to his name. All i say that may his purpoese for my life prevail. I trust that all the steps i take, the decisions i make, the words i utter are part of God's plan. Needed this today and by no accident it comes at a time when I’m praying for direction and willing to step into whatever he asks. He gave me this boat... he steers this boat and when storms come he gives me the faith to believe I won’t get taken out. Trusting through the storm of an MRI for my boy and believing that whatever happens He will receive ALL THE GLORY. Because he IS IN THIS BOAT ❤️

I feel like u are the best vessle cuz u are so real! I am an ex heroin, meth addict as well as an exotic dancer. In order 2 receive the word i need it delivered in a relatable way & u do that 4 me! Ty so much steven. I have almost 3 years clean & i plug into these daily 2 keep me on track! God & These sermons have saved & changed my life. My favorite is The reputation rehab about rahab. I cry every time i watch it cause it gives me hope that one day People wont label me by my past but will see the woman that god has changed me into! Thank u pastor steven. Through this message JESUS ...The WAY spoke showed me even more how HE.. "when" I in my human weakness partner "WITH HIM" ...shows me the way "through". Partnering is PRESENCE. Who HE "is.. who I am and belong to". HE chooses to teach me. Even when I don't understand..."I choose (or don't) ..to hear/ do. .."obey" the WAY. I have complete LOVE and GRACE "through" EVERY breath I breathe. Even when I sleep and rest. Love beyond my understanding. I love ur interpretation of the word of god. Like you said other preachers talk about how peter was bold but you humble peter and yourself under god and that is one of the main reasons I’d love to see you preach live. Awesome, awesome Word. Consider this as well - Simon was a fisherman. He'd just come in from fishing all night and catching nothing. This was the end of his work day, and that's about the worst day at work a fisherman can have aside from getting caught in a storm and the boat sinking. How many times have we had a bad day at work, maybe on the day we have mid-week service, and had the attitude that "Well, God's not going to work through me at church tonight because I lost my temper with this person at the office," or, "Well, I'm sorry Lord, I let the devil win this one," and we come into the House of Worship with a defeated, self-pity attitude and we don't let God work through us because we can't see that He can use exactly what we went through today for His glory.
