Respect. Once u reach a point, it's not fun to play anymore for some people. It's more of a job at some point & not so much fun, as it should be.

What a classy move. Bands never break up anymore. Gulch hit it big and thought it was lame and broke the fuck up. They don’t make bands like this anymore.

@trvp_ So your only definition of success is being on billboard charts and touring with Metallica? Well if a hardcore band that played living rooms now has over 1000 people at their shows, thats called hitting it big. Maybe not in your antiquated normie definition, but it is.
@davedanger4414

@trvp_ Relative to the hardcore scene now, yes they "hit it big". Are you actually dense or just rocking a pea brain? "Just because you play a small room filled with zoomers doesn't mean you hit it big." Was that an argument someone made or one you made up to try a prove yourself right? They've played places with 5,000+ in attendance. Pretty big for hardcore standards. They're easily top 5 most popular hardcore bands in the last couple years. Who is bigger right now besides Turnstile? The metric we have readily and easily available is youtube and the only bands the exceeds them in views is Turnstile and Jesus Piece. Either way, relative to the scene, they were big. If you want to make it not relative at all, then no bands have made it and it's just Jean-Michel Jarre at the top. No one comes close. he's the only one that has made it, boys. We did it 😂

punk retains its power in its ability to opt out, refuse, and capture some measure of counter-cultural force by resisting the abstract and fundamentally social restraints that attempt to place cultural expression onto some particular manifest. refusal is quiet resistance. punk bands have the courage to break up and it's admirable.

He’s not wrong. Post quarantine shows aren’t the same and it fucks w your head. Especially those that were very involved w shows before 2020 shits not the same. Half the crowd are strangers now but it’s also cool more people are coming out to shows. It’s a double sided coin

People forget that to make a band is pretty much a company, every show has most members coughing money up to make merch, gas funds as well as buying food.. some shows you’ll make your money back some shows you’ll go broke and not make shit.. GULCH forever

I left my band in 2022 and was in it since 2014/15… once shows were happening again I feel what Cole said when you can do it again and again yet feel strange like.. “This is it.?” And I’m sure everyone wants time with their family, friends, love interest and overall just live a life

Gotta respect the homies for making a gard decision like that. It's just hard for me to understand. Most hardcore bands wants to get recognized and make a honest living outta of music, also most bands wish the scene was bigger and stuff. Then bros stared getting recognized and "big", so as the scene with fewer familiar faces, and just wanna quit? I respect that, but i just don't get it. Anyway, i will bump ur shit till the day i die!!!
