It isn't. The pen experience on any and all surface products == abysmal. Too much line jitter. If you're looking for the Pro aspect of either a Surface or an iPad, the Surface is not for you.

It probably is. While the Qualcomm chip limits compatibility with some programs, it should still have much more professional software available for it. The iPad pro is good just for 120hz display and nothing else. Also the statements regarding the surface pen given by another commenter is a straight out lie as I've seen used it before and it is definitely better than apple pencil.

Ive been using my Surface Pro 4 and it still holds up fine today. I use it as my main PC. I'm a professional videographer/graphic designer and music producer on the side and its able to handle all of that no problem. I use a $10 bluetooth keyboard that works much better than the keyboard they sell with it. Also use a $10 bluetooth mouse. (make sure its bluetooth and NOT wireless) It sits on my desk and I have it connected to 2 external monitors so Im not looking at the tiny screen. Half the time I forget its the surface for me its just my regular computer. Then when i want to go to someones studio for music or take it with me on my shoots its just grab and go. Ive dropped mine several times with no protection and there was no damage. I can only Imagine the Pro X would be what I've experienced only better. The charger sucks though and had to get it replaced twice.

@@svsproductions1 Lew, let me save you some time. Try running Lightroom. Try running any 64-bit apps, NO CAN DO! you can run Light room in 32-bit REALLY SLOW.

@@ThePainWhisperer all mine are running 64 bit.... Photoshop, illustrator, Lightroom, After affects, Davinci and Fl Studio. All run fine with multiple programs open. Maybe you bought the 32 bit Surface pro? They came in multiple version some couldnt handle 64. 32 bit version arent even supported with my Surface. I just verified on their website to make sure I wasnt crazy. I can ONLY run 64-bit so what are yo getting at?

@@svsproductions1 I believe that he is referring to the Surface Pro X using an Qualcomm ARM chip and not an intel 64bit processor like your current pro 4 does. so 64bit intel applications will not work unless they explicity support arm processors

I sold mine MacBook Air a while ago. Bought Surface Pro 6 and I love it! It'a perfect for taking notes prepare for exams etc. I highly recommend it to everyone who uses it for educational purposes.

Idk if you noticed but the keyboard can magnify a little bit more and put the keyboard at more of an upward angle so it doesn't hurt your wrist

I defiantly getting this along with the studio. I love my surface 6 as I use it for school, illustration work, and random stuff. The only thing I don't like is there pens as I'm use to the round pencil feel like wacom pens. Though if the surface pen comes with it then I'll use and just have to get used to it lmao

Torn between getting this or keeping the Surface laptop 3 13.5 " I recently picked up, How well does streaming things like netflix and whatnot work when connected to a Cellular network tho? 2 biggest selling points i see is the Cellular connectivity and the ability to take of the keyboard if you wanted a smaller surface to set it on or just are looking to use in tablet mode.

At least it prevents it from flexing. But for any serious productivity this thing just ain't it. Professionals are way better off buying a ThinkPad T series laptop or something similar. I owned a hybrid once (Asus Transformer) and ended up using it as a laptop only which it basically sucked at. That was the first and last hybrid I will ever own.

I'm so sad to see Microsoft nailing the device specs-wise but failing to address the real issues since the start. The alcantara wears after sometime and starts looking pathetic. The OS still isn't optimized for touch (running youtube is a pain), the app store is still trash and the "2-in-1 device" form factor is more of a hassle than a ground breaking step. Been using the Surface pro 4 for 3 years now and i'm finally moving to a macbook soon. (have to say the build quality of the device itself is great, the pen concept is very intuitive and the hinge in indeed extraordinary)

Man, I love this! I hope ARM chips and the fidelity of mobile chip technology get in the windows PC business real quick. I am frustrated with the high power consumption and massive heating issues of traditional laptops.

@@chrisnj2000 basically 64bit apps don't run on it, and 32bit apps written for x86 processor are emulated, so they are slow. Only ARM processor optimised apps run well, but that won't be your Adobe suite anytime soon, besides Fresco maybe.

@@sloppynyuszi basically what this means is that I can't install Chrome Browser and Dropbox on the Surface Pro X? And even if I do, they'll be slow because they're emulated?
