The illuminate are probably going to be their big summer release, for now theres still a fair amount of frustrating bugs they need to fix before adding an ENTIRE new faction.

It’s important to note that arrowhead is stretched thin as it is. It was thought that they had a team working war bonds (which is supposed to be each month and is how they sustain the game) and a team working bug fixes, which continue to grow with the release of new content and war bonds every month. This isn’t the case though,they have one team doing everything. They’re kind of between a rock and a hard place rn and I don’t expect to see illuminids until they sort out their current logistical issues. Which is fine by me, they’ve earned my patience.

I think its improtant to not understate how important immersion is in this game. Everything, from the weapon feel, to the enemy lethality, to enemy behaviour lend to the game feeling very realistic despite its absurdity. Adding a human faction that acts very stupid because of AI could be very damaging to immersion.

Hiigaran forces are currently engaged in combat with the illuminates and we have them for now contained...for now. That because we have multiple scouting parties either going missing of being attacked by the illuminates. Their advance is stopped by the fact they keep stumbling across our own force.

The game has so many bugs right now that I don't think they could handle another faction. They should hold them back until the game is a lot more stable.

I have an interesting idea for the 4th faction they should be like the helgans from killzone or a parody of the empire from Star wars mixed with ww2 Germans as they have Enough with democracy and want to break away from super earths ways of living.

(Super Earth Ministry of Special Operations Command) SEMSOC units are already fighting them and pathfinding for proper battlefields to deploy the Helldivers to. This threat is unlike any we have faced so far in the last century and proper and diligent preparation is required. No SEAF units previously deployed on that front have survived contact so information is sparse as SEMSOC doesn’t do press.

I feel like in a PVE game fighting humans just isnt good, they act janky and stupid where it would be excuseable in the case of mindless terminids or unthinking automatons

I think it would be awesome that the iluminates send scout units so we can encounter it and be like "what the heck? A new enemy?"

I want a flood type of faction, I think the illuminate are praying to someone they think.is a God but it ends up being a gaint flood/ hive mind monster.

You want to know why? Cos the game is 2 months old. We have 3 new enemy types. 8 new weapons and grenades. 2 more big warbonds to work through. 4 new mission types We are on the 3rd story arc. And youre asking where the next faction is?? Bro have some damn patience.

I think cyborg units will show up with the automatons in a combined fighting force of mostly automatons

I think a faction that would be interesting would be sort of like the rebel factions others have mentioned, but it would be more like the 40k traitor legions. A few fleets are exploring new parts of the galaxy, when they come across an eldritch being that they start to warship. The traitor legion would then go on to indoctrinate people and ravage planets in the name of their newly found god.

My guess is that all of the new maps assets for cyberstan were ready before all of the iluminate units were so instead of doing a half baked iluminate relase they rolled out the automatons to buy a little more dev time

We have not seen the illuminate yet because the game is EARLY ACCESS and they have not completed them yet. The game shipped early stripped of many features because it had to be released earlier. They even admitted that themselves as they said helmets were supposed to have features. The galactic war is nowhere near completed either as we cannot even win or lose and it's not automated largely as it is supposed to, so AH has to make most events MANUALLY which is not by intended design.

The Illuminates just revealed themselves after the recent "Account Linking" update just a few hours ago. It was SOYny all along.

I have a feeling the 4th faction will be rebel helldivers. After all when we eventually crush all bugs, bots and aliens...we will have nothing else left but ourselves.

The story hasn't allowed it yet, right now we have a super colony to deal with but i believe something will happen that will bring them back into the galaxy

I think the point is tha bugs still the most popular race to fight. And Automatons not popular. Guess what happen when there's a third race apear? Will they be popular, or just a waste of time? Arrowhead need a good reason to add them to the game.

I have played this game 2 weeks straight without sleeping and without going to school or doing anything else thats why i already have 270+ h. But sadly my mom noticed i was still in my room. Yes she only realized i havent left my room for 2 weeks and now i cant have my pc for 3 days. Thats so cruel of her.

They have a lot of issues still with the 2 factions they have not to mention the players are only winning because the Devs are going easy on us.

I would love it if they gave us an option to be the dissidents so we could chose our side in the galactic war. Whether we chose to rebel or not. Sort of like that cops v robbers need for speed game.
