Күн бұрынJim Caviezel started gaining prominence as an actor in the 1990s with roles in dramas and action movies like Wyatt Earp, The Rock, and G.I. Jane. He received critical acclaim for his gripping portrayal of private Robert Witt in Terrence Malick’s epic war film The Thin Red Line.
In the 2000s Caviezel continued starring in popular movies like Angel Eyes and The Count of Monte Cristo. But his biggest -- and most controversial -- movie to date was Mel Gibson’s biblical drama The Passion of Christ, in which he played Jesus Christ.
But today Caviezel is nowhere to be seen in Hollywood anymore. Here is why he was dropped by Tinseltown.

Regarding his refusals to strip or do sex scenes, I have the utmost respect for him. His respect for himself and for his wife and their relationship shows that he has integrity. Wonderful!

Yes, I agree! I have rarely met a man who would not jump at the chance to fondle a beautiful woman to be in a movie, even if they were married to a beautiful woman. Jim Caviezel is one in a million as far as I'm concerned, the type of man I could have only wished for myself when I was young. God Bless him, his wife and his children.

Jim is the antithesis of what Hollywood is and that’s not really a bad thing. He’s a devout Christian, he is a family man and he stays true to his marital vows by not even doing semi racy scenes with other actresses in films, even if it’s all for pretend. He seems like a real deal. I hope he continues his impressive career despite Hollywood’s holier than thou attitude, even though they are a shady, morally corrupt business. Actually, Jim has been trending a lot recently with the powerful film Sound of Freedom, so he’s coming back 👏

Yes. And that is the exact reason he was blackballed, because of that film. Even though other actors before, who played Jesus wasn't, it's because THIS film THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST was the very FIRST movie, that actually showed the brutality of how they did Jesus, and SO many people became believers. That was too much for the devil's kingdom to handle.✌❤🙏

Jim Caviezel regrets NOTHING. I remember watching the Passion in theaters. People were stunned, bowing down literally on their knees, some crying, and some wailing. I remember a teenage girl and her brother embracing their mother, and she was crying, "Mom, I want to change" and her mother said, "We will go to Church again." I will never forget the overwhelming peace in that room. Hollywood, money, or fame is nothing compared to the Lord Jesus and the rewards that He has in store for those who love Him and have kept the faith.

I do not understand how anyone could consider the movie " The Passion of the Christ" controversial. Jim Caviezel is a man of integrity and I applaud him for that. He is a devout Catholic. Hollywood is so morally bankrupt and evil so of course they are going to reject a good and holy man like Jim. It's spiritual warfare. I love, appreciate, and respect Jim Caviezel. I know my bible, but it seems to be you who don't know your bible. The bible as we know it today was actually compiled by the Catholic church centuries ago and a few centuries later protestants came, took it, removed some books that were not convenient to their agenda and use it as their own, calling it "their book", when in reality they just "borrowed" (to be polite) it from the Catholic church; and please don't believe me, do you own research, and make your own judgment, but not based on hatred towards the Catholic church because that's what you've been tought on the protestant churches, but based on true, historic research, based on facts and reliable records.

Yes there are wolves in sheeps clothing in the Catholic hierarchy because it is a human institution and as such has made mistakes. The bible would not even exist if the Church that Christ established did not compile the books and the monks copied it so that it would be preserved. The Church will always make mistakes but Christ promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. And He will stay with her till the end.

Jim Caviezel is one of the most under-rated actors around IMO. He was brilliant in Person of Intrest, it's a pity the show has ended. The more I see & hear of him, the more I like him as an actor and a person. Good on him for sticking to his beliefs and not selling out to get roles.

"Hollywood reject?!??" He's a total Boss who has worked consistently. Person of Interest went on for years and years and is still one of my favorite prime time shows. He's done countless voiceovers for biblical animation series and does great work still today. He's careful of the roles he chooses because he understands his influence and social responsibility his life holds. He has a higher calling and is a man of quality.
