When it debuted on NBC in 2006, the show Heroes -- which examines superheroes through a semi-realistic lens -- was a smash hit, with many assuming that it would be a jumping off point for its new stars. One of these stars was Hayden Panettiere, who made a name for herself playing cheerleader Claire Bennet. But the show didn’t remain the smash hit it was at first, and Panettiere struggled to find roles afterwards, although she has had success again in recent years on the country music drama Nashville.

Jack Smack I agree. My brother works in film and I never see him. Right now he’s on hiatus which is awesome, but he has to cramp every thing he needs to get done over the year in just two months. Sometimes I get frustrated because he hardly knows my son, and my son deserves an uncle. Because my brother is awesome, his love of film and his understanding of it makes him such a great conversationalist. It’s sad that we aren’t close anymore. I don’t think he realizes the strain it puts on our lives, but he also has a huge strain, his hours are so crazy. Sometimes he gets to his house at say 3am and has to turn around and be back in the road at 8am. He’s never had a family, and I’ve hoped at some point he’d go into a more mainstream occupation. But he loves his job, he works harder than anyone I know and he makes excellent money. I think it’s a lot easier on movie actors versus tv in terms of having a family and actually getting to be present for them. Its ridiculous when I see people criticizing people who used to have a bunch of roles and now we don’t hear from them. That’s the business and that’s life: I’ve changed my profession several times too.

Yes, and Nashville is a darn good show! Hayden is great - she sings beautifully and players her character perfectly! It just finished season 5 on CMT and it will be back next year for season 6. I don't think this video was very nice - who is Niki Swift anyway?

For me Heroes is still one of the best shows! - at least the first 2 seasons are so exciting and well made! There are not that many shows I found SO exciting and felt addicted to seeing the next episodes. And I always loved Hayden the most :)

Hayden is a great actress and a fine singer as well. I am sure that she will be getting fantastic roles when she comes back to the industry. Personally, I have nothing but respect for her that she wanted to take a break from fame so she could be her child’s mom. There are not enough celebrities who put their careers before their families and have suffered for it. Also, if anyone remembers the work she did for the 2015 video game “Until Dawn,” they will know that she is a celebrity who is nowhere near the end of her career. It is my opinion that it is only beginning. She just needs to be with her family first. That is the way it should be done.

Yes, she has. The show actually got cancelled by ABC last spring and CMT & Hulu picked it up for atleast a fifth season which is currently airing. I think she is actually in a good position careerwise.

If your going to report it do it right. Heroes along with other tv shows took a news dive due to the writers strike. It was at the heights of it's popularity. The writers strike basically killed tv. It was just never the same and that is when reality tv took over.

She's married with a kid. That's the only reason why Hollywood won't cast her. She was always marketed as the hot chick every nerdboy wanted to get with, but once she got with the boxer and had his kid all of that disappeared. They have no idea how to market her now.

I love Hayden Panettiere she is a great actor I don't understand why people want to do this to her and she's a great singer to one day I will meet her in person I wish I could meet her in person she sounds really cool terrific in it's unbelievable they she can do all this stuff and still act that's what I love about her but she was really adorable little kid

Good for HP for raising awareness for PPD. It's an incredibly serious condition that's rarely talked about, seriously undertreated, and if serious enough can become Post Partum Psychosis- which is usually the mental illness the mothers who kill their young children suffer from (there are a ton of heartbreaking examples). Even PPD can cause women to unintentionally hurt their babies. So yeah, it's a pretty effing serious illness.

its too bad things haven't worked out better for her over the years. she seems like an opportunity waiting to happen though. I imagine it can be quite tough to be such a multi-talented, not to mention incredibly attractive, individual haunted by such scrutiny that is nothing more then a case of "wrong place at the wrong time" blues. I wouldn't underestimate her abilities though. its not like she isn't living a some what comfortable lifestyle. she has plenty of time I feel to find her notch and hit the ground running. I for one will be rooting her future success on and look forward in seeing her shine brightly once again... (:

She was in Scream 4. I not only liked Scream 4 more than Scream 3, but I liked Scream 4 more than Scream 2 too. Why is television not counted as Hollywood? In many cases, television is better than motion pictures (Lost was way better than Cast Away). Nashville had more seasons than Heroes, I was bored with Nashville myself. I loved all four seasons of Heroes. Season Four has a good ending, they can change To Be Continued with The End. Hayden was never asked to return for Heroes Reborn. Heroes Reborn is only okay. Almost turned Heroes Reborn off. I was so confused until it started making since with time travel and memory wipes. A bad first impression is not the best way to hook your audience.

PPD is NOT "beyond the norm" for new moms. It is VERY common and it can be VERY dangerous if left untreated. This is why so many new moms are ashamed to tell people if they're struggling. It's so important and the way you talked about it in this video is so ignorant. Of course that would be her main priority! IT'S HER BODY/MIND/LIFE! What she's doing is amazing and I wish more women were open about it and willing to help other moms who are struggling with PPD. I have dealt with it twice and it was very bad for me both times.

You forget we're talking about someone that you recognize as a star and therefore you say we don't hear them so much or they were last thing they tried to do what is in as good as or the first thing they try to do crashed this is a very young person and said she is doing what most people can't even get a chance to do in entertainment and being what is called a working thespian
