Great conversation, thank you. I do not like hook-up culture. It is like fast food; cheap, low quality, and ultimately a waste. I guess the need for novelty would be addressed, but I think exploring new things with a committed, long-term partner is more fun and meaningful.

First time performance anxiety is so common for dudes, and alcohol is usually a key factor. Nothing more embarrassing than shooting pool with a rope.

If you arent getting that O as a man, you gotta limit that PH account usage. downgrade to solo, the pictures, then imagination, then work your way to the point that you only jujitsu tap out your chicken because it's already crowing.

When guys are looking for what they consider relationship material they don't want someone who participates in hookup culture for 2 reasons. 1. Its a purity thing. I'm not making a value judgement on this, however high body count women are typically seen as dirty. This discomfort is harder and harder to deal with as you become more connected with the person. Its also a societal pressure/status thing, you don't want your girl to be known as a slut or easy. 2. They ARE worried it will repeat and she will cheat. Past behavior predicts future behavior.

Divorce rate is 90% for women with 6+ bodycount, 6% for virgins at time of marriage. Actual results/past track record of past marriages and divorces indicate it matters. The why, is less important than the fact that it does. My wife is a first generation Chinese immigrant, and a virgin at time of marriage. I was 6', fit, made low 6 figures straight out of college, and had IQ of 145. I had the choice, and the typical 90% hookup girl is out of the question. Had I been an average guy, 90% girl would still be out of the question. I would have gotten my passport, gone to Philippines or Vietnam to find a virgin wife. Had I been a below average guy, I'd still have the choice of staying single. 90% girl is out of the question, no matter what. Nobody should tie the knot with forcast of 90% divorce in the future. For the 90% divorce rate 6+ bodycount women, which would include most American hookup girls today, why even bother marrying? Knowing that 90% divorce rate is inescapable because they carry it with them, and their bodycount, and the mental damage incurred, will never go down (as evidenced by 90% divorce rate)? Once they built 6+ bodycount, actual results/past track record indicates they're already committed to that lifepath. So keep hooking up until the river dries.

I’ve only had one hookup (not my thing at all) and I had major performance anxiety. Couldn’t get it up at all.

A lot of guys won't admit, there where a few times I couldn't get it up because it was like a chain reaction in my head of anxiety and failure, it aucks but whatever. It's more painful when your young, when you are older it is like meh. Happened to me 3 times

A thought about the "big O" bit and needing connection to achieve it. I have to wonder if this has some condusiveness with the "pair bonding" theme that's sometimes brought up in this space. Because there are people living the hook-up culture lifestyle who do achieve the big O regularly without the connection. Perhaps there's a cognitive shortcut that's taken to circumvent the pair bonding process to get the big O, but the cost of that is short-circuiting the pair bonding circuitry or at least inhibiting its future potential.

People with personality disorders are unable to connect emotionally. Such guys also tend to be the most attractive to women. So that could be your 'shortcut'.

I've had 3 relationships and 6 hookups and the relationships were so much better in terms of intimacy it's not even funny. I'm 23 and I've chosen to not be intimate with someone until I've developed a friendship then relationship with someone. In March it will be 2 years since I've been with someone. I want to have a relationship where I can see whether I value it excluding sex

@@Ignorereplies thankfully I'm focusing on creating a life that is fulfilling without having a partner. I think overall you should always try and develop a self of wellbeing that doesn't require the validation from having a partner. If you require someone else to give you validation you'll always be disappointed

That is truism, I think jumping into bed right away muddies the water of other things in a budding relationship, and potential red flags. But its tough if your not having/ hadn't any sex in a awhile, and opportunity presents itself, its tough to pass on it?

For guys not achieving the "big O," there are many factors, but a major one, other than performance anxiety can be: medication. Either because they need medication to improve performance, or they can be on antidepressants that prevent it, altogether.

There used to be the saying , the 2 baggers which you put a bag over her head and 1 bag over your head , just encase hers falls off. Then there is the butter-face, everything looks good but her face. Back in the 70's it was same thing ( no social media of course or dating apps or smartphones ) but you would go to parties try to find someone to hookup with. ( and maybe a hookup would turn into a relationship) you dated or hooked up in your own community - local talent.

It helps some ppl but not all ppl. Cause of conservative values and religion it’s always gonna be under attack and so those that like it will constantly be going on about it. Allow ppl to LIVE other life styles, if you don’t you aren’t for freedom.

Nah it's pretty easy for some guys. When I was in university I had a close friend who worked nightlife(bartender at a night club and a beach bar) for ~6 years, from 19 to 25. Especially during summers, he was banging 2(sometimes maybe even 3) different girls a week . However, he was extremely good looking like 9/10 and very extroverted, and coupled with the environment, the alcohol and the lowered inhibitions of young girls, it came pretty easy to him. The girls ranged from mediocre to really hot, the majority were probably in the 5-6 range though.

@@mrdouche9172 What ever happened to him? I wonder if someone like that could ever be satisficed in LTR?
@mrdouche9172
@mrdouche9172 Жыл бұрын
@@sitka49 I mean he had two LTRs, one in highschool and he broke up with her because of the distance since they went to different universities, and one in the first year of university that lasted for around a year until she cheated on him. After that I don't remember him engaging with a girl seriously ever again, maybe a few months at most. We're both 31 now and I haven't spoken to him in like 3 years or something. We grew apart due to the distance, same thing with the rest of the guys I used to hang out with. Well, from what I see on his instagram there is no girl in any of his photos, so he's probably single, or maybe he just doesn't show her on instagram, I have no clue. Will he ever be satisfied in a LTR? Tough to say. I don't think very promiscuous people can stay loyal for a long period of time, especially when they are desirable and get tons of opportunities, eventually they'll probably cheat.
