"The finish line is death. Take your time." Yes, this should be communicated to high school seniors. The problem is there is such pressure on student from their teachers and counselors to go straight to college after high school. Most don't even know what they want to major in.

Yesterday I decided not to attend college and I have been spending the last day watching videos on people who made the same decision. This video put into words exactly how I feel about the entire situation and made me feel better.

School is a factory that produces employees. I mean just think about is, your whole life ur told by ur parents and society that in order to survive in life u must go to school, go to college fall in student loan debts u can’t declare bankruptcy, all of that hopping to secure a high paying 9-5 job, basically telling u to work for money and become a slave for money. And with the schools system being outdated companies aren’t hiring just because u have paper that says U have a degree cause school isn’t preparing you for life, school is not teaching you about money. The professors don’t even practice what they’re teaching. It’s basically a system that we’re trapped in and what’s keeping us poor. On the other hand the rich and wealthy entrepreneurs like Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates e.t.c who are dropouts Run those businesses and control your life and you don’t even know it. The rich don’t work for paychecks, they make passive income they acquire assets. By the way this is why most people aren’t wealthy cause school doesn’t teach about money, they tell you to get out of debt but they don’t tell you that there’s good debt and bad debt they tell you to save money that’s being printed by the government, but the wealthy save real money like gold cause the price never goes down it only goes up but money losses value over time. So if you have kids in the future, take them out of school teach them through life experience not just theory, first and foremost, take your mind set out of the system, out of the Matrix. ‼️‼️

I agree! The school system is a reason why I don't want to bring anymore children into this world. To be told what to do? To be threatened? To be judged? To be controlled? I don't think so. Smart people don't have kids because we know that's just another person who is forced to work for money and told they'll be poor if they don't go to college. I don't hate people for reproducing, I hate that they don't think about the child beforehand. And what kind of suffering that child will be going through. People really think it's selfish to NOT bring a child into the world? No it's the other way around. It's selfish to bring a child into the world. Humans are a shit species. I hate being a part of this species. Sometimes I wish I was a dog. Or any other animal that doesn't have to do school or work for money.

Your video made me tear up. Not because it was funny and certainly not because I am just an emotional person, but because someone out there understands. Thank you for being a voice for people like me out there because you truly don't know how comforting it is to have confirmation that you are doing what's best for you even when the people that are closest to you don't believe it. The internet can be toxic but it is definitely a blessing at the same time. Wish you nothing but success.

i literally went through a crisis the past 3 months about this same issue, i’m only 16 and idk what i want to do for the rest of my life and i think some of that mental stress came from trying to force myself to figure it out “now”. i talked to my counselor about it and she told me not to make a final decision on anything right now and give yourself time and to explore and try things out. and even if i don’t figure it out soon, the universe will help me 💯👍🏾

Universities have 2 sales pitches to hook students. One is to sell them on the more marketable majors like: STEM or business. then, for the students who do. not want to. major in a maketable major, there is still the idea that its the professional networks and. connections you make that really get you a job. Problem is, there is tens of thousands of students graduating with marketable degrees from prestigous universities, and some of them are having a hard time finding a job. So, if you have a liberal arts degree from a mid tier state. college, you are competing with them and still have student loans to deal with.

omg i totally agree with her, i'm taking a gap year bcs i can't afford college and i'm contemplating not going at all. i feel like college is just a waste of time and money, i'd only do it to get the connections but i feel like i can do it without college, but idk these days all jobs require a degree, like i just want to learn....,most internships in my country are also for college students only...

I’m a junior in hs and it just annoys me so much how many people ask where I’m going for college like ik it’s just a thing that people just expect but I fr don’t want to go like I have no desire to spend thousands of dollars that I don’t have to get a degree in something unneeded or just drop out tbh I don’t know what I want to do but why does that matter

School will always be there. You can always go if that’s what you decide you want. There is no need to go, especially if you don’t know why you are going. Take your time to understand what you truly want. These are years you won’t get back. Choose you 💖

Internships are helpful because it’s real world experience in the actual field so that you can see if you like the job! I’m a PR major like you mentioned you were thinking about and didn’t figure out that is what I loved until Junior year after gaining internship experience!

Hi there. I appreciate you making this video. I think it is informative and I respect the points you make but, I have one friendly concern I want to share with you and an advice I'd like to give you from my experience. You said you can go back to school whenever you want at age 22, 35, or 56. There's a saying "it's never too late to get your degree or to acheive anything." That's true but, as someone who dropped out at 20 after a year and got back at 24 I'll say if you're going to go, go right now when you're still young and in your 20s. The more time passes by when you're out of school the harder it gets to return. Plus once you're over 25 it becomes psycologically difficult to accept yourself as a student and hard to learn because you're labeled "adult student" and old by everyone. It becomes mentaly unbearable to know all people you knew in highschool or neighborhood are in careers and have finished school while you're way behind. Society including some people within your family won't be as nice to you. An education higher than a highschool diploma is required by society these days even if it won't guarantee you success in the job market. Go as soon as you can since you don't know what can happen in the future. The COVID pandemic is a good example. If anyone is offended or hurt by my comments I apologize but, I am giving a friendly heads up from what I have been through.

College is considered an investment in the future right? Students pay their tuition and try to get the degree. I feel like I'd be better off elsewhere in regards to becoming a college dropout myself... my question is this, are you able to sustain yourself while being able to pursue and discover all of the freedom that you want? I know this video is older so this means you are along this path and it would be nice to know where it led you :)
