Amen. This is what brand fanboys don't understand. To understand where Nikon went wrong, one needs to go back to when they were on the right track. Around 2009 the lineup was D3000, D5000, D90, D300, D700, D3. Quality was paramount. Then they lost the plot. They forgot what customers wanted from them & you can see why their market share dipped

The Nikon D3s is a great camera. Use now the Nikon D4.

@@Stoney-Lawson no I don’t have the D4 anymore. I have Z6ii with S 70-200 2.8; 105 macro 2.8 S lens; 24-70 F4; Nikon 200-500 f5.6 having a blast with it. I do will be looking into the Z9 or D5 or D6 soon

Jesse Newell that is one hell of a jump. I owned a Nikon D80 back in 2008....since then I have owned a Nikon D700, D3s and now I have a D4. All cameras are amazing. D80 is a cropped sensor, all the others are full frame, so be prepared for more expensive glass.

That huge jump is the hell. It´s like from analog to digital DSLR and ways bigger, than from a D4 to a D6 ;-)

As for using a full frame sensor and then going to cropped, that is a tough question because each have their own advantages. It's time already. I got mine 20 days ago after going through classifieds for a year! I got it for $1150, With 55000 clicks and in mint condition. I feel very lucky to finally get my hands on it. Get it before they're gone forever.

@@wolfgangaigner You did the right thing. It's so good I'm becoming obsessed about this camera! Interestingly I too had a D700, and a D3 before. But I sold them and bought a D3x before I eventually switched to D4 (I can't afford multiple cameras). If you are curious to know, the D3x was mostly disappointing, unless used under controlled lighting.

@@freddy2nt Luckily for me I mainly shoot studio portraits with Elinchrom strobes so the D3X suits me extremely well. I now have a D810 too and the D3X is NOT shamed by it in the studio. I briefly had a D4s (which was great) but I decided that was too much money tied up in one body.

Great! No mirrorless for me as well. Don't need the banding, heating and inflated prices. It's that hand that rocks the craddle, not the craddle itself. Kind regards.

I've also been shooting with a D700 for years now and the only possible REAL upgrade I see on the market is the D4/D4s. In my opinion, no other low resolution Nikon digital body is really worth investing some money if you already own a D700.

I had the same thoughts until I started working for a company that shoots events and weddings. Autofocus is crucial there and you need a reliable camera with big battery.

Hi Joe, if I see a spot on my sensor, I always try to get it out first by using the rocket blower with the camera on mirror lock up, but if I cannot get it out, I take it to a professional Nikon certified tech that cleans it for me. I am fortunate enough to live only 20 minutes from a Nikon authorized service center :-)

Hello James, It's hard to comment on the D750 because I never really liked that camera. I owned one and returned it in the same week. If I were to comment on the DR of the D750 vs the D4, I can definitely tell you that the D4 can recover the deep shadows with no noise whatsoever because of the insane low light sensor. However, there might be more detail in the shadows of the D750, but also more noise due to the higher megapixel count. It's all based on what you need for your type of shooting. I did a lot of research before deciding on Drobo, and what really made me pull the trigger with Drobo was that any other option in the same price range didn't have the same features as Drobo. The Drobo software is amazing for managing my storage, health of my drives, and notifies me by email and text when one of my drives is within 100GB of filling up. Also, Drobo's customer support is second to none. The only other option I was deciding on after all of my research was the Promise Pegasus servers. Hey there, thanks so much for subscribing! It's a tough choice between the D810 and the D4s because they are both fantastic cameras! My advice to you would be to decide what type of photography you will be doing most, and then make your decision based on that. Example: If you think you will do large prints, landscape photos, and fine art portraits, then I would go with the D810 all day long. However, if you will be shooting just a few landscapes and and mostly sports and low light events, then I would go with the D4s. The biggest differences are going to be that the D810 will give you a ton more detail and image quality, but the D4s will give you great low light AF ability and low light noise performance at insane high ISO levels. no. Nikon have not issued a firmware update to the D4s (or the D4) to support CFexpress cards.

Hi Vicente, I would definitely still recommend the D4 in 2017. A lot of event shooters are still shooting with even the D3s. If you can find a D4s for a good deal now that the D5 is out, you will love the D4s as well because the focus acquisition will be a little faster than the D4, but the D4 is still amazing. Hi, thanks for watching the video! Hmm, this is a tough question because you shoot so many different genres. So, it looks like you shoot a lot of low light events with some landscape and street portraits mixed in. I am assuming that sports and low light events is what brings you the most full time money, in which case I would advise you to look at the D500 as a second body. The reason I would recommend the D500 is because the low light AF ability of that camera is spot on amazing. Also, I think it would be a great complimentary body to your D4s because you would have a cropped sensor body for extra reach on your pro lenses instead of having to use teleconverters on your D4s which would decrease your light by a stop or two. The D500 would also be cheaper than getting another D4s. The only way I would suggest for you to get another D4s for your second body would be if you are what I call a "Wide/Long" shooter. What I mean is if you always carry two bodies mounted on yourself at once, one with a wide lens and one with your long lens. With that setup, it would probably be more beneficial for you to have both cameras be full frame so that your focal lengths are exactly what you want them to be. Also, it's easier during dual camera scenarios to have the cameras be identical so that your buttons and settings are in the same exact spot for quick working while you're on location shooting your paid events. Keep in mind, this was all based on my assumption that most of what you do is sports and low light events. Now, on the opposite end of the spectrum... If you shoot equal landscape with sports and portraits, you might actually want to consider a D810 or the D850 if it actually comes out this September. I'm sure you know why I am suggesting this. The D810 has incredible image quality, incredible shadow detail, the best dynamic range I have seen from a DSLR, and of course the megapixels to make all of your portraits and landscapes jump off the bloody screen. It's a rockin camera. It's just all about which genre you shoot most and where your financial priority is at. I hope that helped :-). -Eric

Thank you for such a detailed response. Your points are very valid every scenario. I have previously used a D7000 for a second body for sports which has not been good in low light. In addition, you nailed my reason for the second body because it is for Wide/Long. However a D500 would prevent the use of a teleconverter for more reach with my 300mm F2.8 VRII. However, I can always crop in the body of a D4s. Again, thanks much.

Backfocus problem?

I have owned two Nikon D4 cameras and have never had any problems with green tints on the screen. The best solution I can give is to take it to a Nikon authorized repair center and have them replace the display. Typically costs around $450 US dollars. Thanks for watching! -Eric

Hello, if you have the budget, then I would go with the D4s because it is a better camera than the D3s in every way. However, if you're only going to use it for events and weddings with no printing or landscape work, you might want to save some money and go with a D3s or D4 because they're all great in low light. The biggest thing you will gain from the D4 and D4s is the light up buttons, better dynamic range, more resolution, and better shadow detail. Thanks and good luck! -Eric

I don't print large size. The D3s was the appealing to me due to its most rugged built quality ever found on any Dslr to date (build to last forever), even superior to its successor D4 or D4s. Also, i saw last month, the most accurate review on the net, comparing D3s to D4 & D3 ..... which says that D3s is the best of the lot.
