I have started watching Hallmark Christmas Movies too and I agree with all your reasons to start early! Since I do listen to Christmas music right after Halloween which always made my grandkids crazy, I think getting started on decorating makes perfect sense! Thank You Anne!

I completely agree with 100% those trees need to go up when the days start getting dark faster. I love to put my fall things out starting in September! So end of October I start on Christmas! I am a big kid! I love Christmas lights. I used to work retail so I didn’t get to see a lot of the Christmas at home. So yes, Christmas lights must come early ❤

I start to decorate a week before Thanksgiving. I have off four days during the Thanksgiving holidays and used to work like a dog for 4 days never getting to sit down and enjoy my time off. So now I do it a week before Thanksgiving and leave a very small area left decorated for fall. That way the morning after Thanksgiving I finish my Christmas decorating within an hour and I'm done for the season. I love the color of your walls and trim what do you use. As always I thank you for the time and effort you put into your videos they bring me so much inspiration and joy.

Love your Christmas tree with the candles! Looks pretty real to me. Love your old bowl and what you put in it. Very prim! I started decorating before Thanksgiving a few years ago. It takes so much time to put it out, I want to be able to enjoy it a little longer. Besides, I can enjoy my turkey with the glow of the Christmas lights.😄 I'm sorry to hear about your sister. My mom passed last year. Holidays just aren't the same, so we need to do what we can to find joy and peace.

Good for you Anne, you recognize what makes you sad and what makes you happy. Then you go for happy!! Well done you! When the leaves in my woods begin to fall around our saltbox home I cheer them on. They have done their work, shared their beauty and allowed me to oooo and ahhhh over them. Then in their starkness, I continue to see structure and beauty in the bareness of the branches. And just as I think alright already enough starkness, mother nature blankets them in the beauty of the first snow. Oh and the smell of the woods in the fall and in the first snow? I love your decorations and doing it early. I like to start early and putzing could be my middle name! I love the lights for the warm glow. It does get dark earlier and since my husband passed last Christmas morning I've taken to have lights always. Fairy lights, etc. No darkness. I'm all about the light. It's so important to my psyche. Bring on the Hallmark Christmas movies. Yes. I've already begun watching them. Love the way you think. ❤️

We started decorating because we aren’t getting any younger and need more time to do all we do. So, the trees are coming out, the garlands and our illuminated, animated figures. I love to start early and get it all decorated so we have the whole holiday season to enjoy it. I love looking at most of my decor being vintage, so many memories. It certainly helped hearing your thoughts are the same as mine. Time to get ready for the holidays!!!

I wanted a table top sleigh one year and waited too long to find one! I went to many shops but no luck. I was in a bit of a snit and finally found one on line! Love Hallmark Christmas movies too! Anne, I too find when the leaves are gone from the trees it is a very depressing time. The early decorating not only gives that extra time to enjoy the Christmas decorations before the hustle and bustle starts, but also is a gentle reminder to remember the true meaning of the spirit of Christmas. Oh Sweet Anne! What a wonderful surprise to share a Cozy Sunday morning with you! I also am "itching" to start decorating for Christmas! I'm getting so many ideas for "prim" decor on Pinterest, and after watching you, I am walking around my house and going: "Hmmm, Hmmm...I think I'll do that, or I 'll do this and this...oh, bout my old "tree" lantern coming in from the porch this year!" Lol! 1st of all, by Labor Day, my Fall decor is out simply because I am SO ready to be done with Summer! I love summer activities but I get really tired of the heat! I enjoy the Autumn, Halloween with the kids, but truthfully I am ready to get into the Christmas bins! I'm telling myself, "No! You HAVE to wait till after Halloween"! Sigh...Sooo, by the middle of November, my house is Christmas! 2nd of all, it's a short season, and I like to "celebrate" from then then on thru New Years! 3rd of all, the Season is filled with Shopping, Wrapping, Baking, more Shopping, Entertaining, Family, et al, all good things, but, at least the Decorating is done! Whew! Although, I too am "putzing around" during the "festivities! That's hilarious that you use that term also, I thought I was the only one! Then, 4th of all, yes, this is a time of grieving, of sorts...when the leaves fall and the days are shorter and darker, we grieve for the loss of light in our lives, hence the fires and the candles...When I get up on a cold rainy dark morning, the first thing I do, after starting the coffee, ofcourse, is go around and lite my candles..."Let their be Light"...And after all, it IS a time for grieving of lost loved ones...I am sorry for the loss of your sister, Anne...this will be the first anniversary of my dear older Brothers' passing, Oct 28, actually...my Mom is gone now 11 yrs and although I am an "old" Grammie myself, I miss her every day still, and especially at Christmas, she passed all the wonderful traditions from her family unto us, and we treasure them always...So, finally, as it is a time of great nostalgia, it IS a time of even greater Celebration for all of us that carry-on...I love the "lights" of Christmas, and the Music of Christmas, 🎶🎵Oh Holy Night🎶🎵🎶 , my personal fave... they thrill me to my soul and fill me with all the "wonder" and the Hope... and the Love of the Season! I wish the lites, at least, could stay up all thru winter! Anyway, thank you, Anne, as always, for sharing your heart and your home❣️

Ann could you please tell me where you got the antiquing wax you put on the candles for your tree? I got the same candles off of Amazon too but I like the antique look you gave then. I also suffer from low light syndrome which brings on a somewhat depressed feeling inside. I’m planning on starting my Christmas decor right after Halloween is over. I also include the turkeys etc for Thanksgiving. I really enjoy your videos….thanks for giving us decor enjoyment ❤️
