Hi, I'm Lindsey! I'm a beginner roller skater learning roller skating for the first time. In this video, I am using the Dirty School of Skate video to learn the Downtown again. I am practicing beginner roller skating drills and made progress on other roller skating tricks! This video is part of my beginner roller skate vlog series. I've been skating for about two months now , so also a beginner and I love your videos, bc I can learn from your mistakes (that is a good thing!) Ironically enough, I fell and shattered my right wrist on mothers day while skating backwards outside and hit a good sized rock that I didnt notice when I was checking out the area around me skating. I had surgery on it about two weeks ago but started back on my skates in my basement a couple days ago. SO! All of that to say I've been binge watching some of your vids during all of this downtime from the injury lol. I haven't tried the downtown yet, but I do know that you have to do alot of the moving not on all 4 wheels, but only using your heel wheels. That's what makes it look so fluid and smooth! I didn't watch Dirty Debs tutorial on that yet, but every one I've watched uses their heel wheels and toe wheels much of the time! Hope that helped :)

I am learning too. Here are some tips. It gets easier if you compress and release. Although it's easy to think about the kick, what is important is the weight compression into the other foot (the one she says has the hip). Another way to describe it is a bounce. I like to alternate kicks to the music and when I start to develop a bit of bounce, I then launch into the foot patterns. The feel is down on the beat... Enjoy.

I’m really curious as to what what you have on the toe of your boot , can you please let me know what it is ?!! Looks like something I’d prefer over the the other options I’ve seen
