The only thing reverse does is to get more airspace if your box is too small that's it.. or if you want it to be able to cool down faster so for cooling purposes , now that's it LOL

I got my subs mounted regular. I thought about inverting but I like to box to take up as little space as possible. So if I invert the sub than it feels like the subwoofer takes up more space.

Then you have to worry about if it's going to rub if you don't have it centered perfectly when reversed

Another advantage of the sealed side is you can boost the perceived airspace up to 20 percent using a pound of poly fill per cubic foot (maybe a little over that as the chamber gets larger) You could boost the ported side but youd have to use polysheets and glue it to the walls.

Your cone area does not change whether you're mounted inverted or not. Thats not how this works.

This is very true his theory still applies the same when it's mounted normal or inverted.. so like Bla Spogelse said in all actuality it's not the way it works. I like Jacob he's pretty cool but this time I am not agreeing with that theory but it's no big thing we're all learning like you said... but I still could be wrong LOL LOL

If you had a cabin that was half the size how much of difference do you think it would make in output? Definitely a noob when it comes to 4th and 6th order boxes so really appreciate the videos bro! Thanks!!!

Being such a large cabin affects output drastically so if I was to say have half the space as current I could easily see gaining atleast 1.5-2dbs and gain a little more lows. It’s hard to get loud with small cone area and big cabin space.

Well wouldn't that still apply to it being mounted normal since you have a back wave it's going to be the same thing inside the enclosure you're going to still have that magnet in the way? No am I wrong?

Hey @jacobviral i have a 12 in a 4th order that has a little bit too small port side respectively larger sealed side should i swap my sub to be invert to the port side for lower notes (model Sound Ordnance 12 4th order)

Depends how big your sealed chamber size is. Adjusting port area/length could help to. Inverting would just make your ported side even smaller and may not be as loud.

If I have 2 12s in a ported box and invert one sub will I have to reverse polarity on the traditional mounted subwoofer or inverted reason being by box is tilting forward due to weight it’s for 2 sa 12s

I would secure the box down and mount all the same way that’s beat for you. It can be overall louder as well being secure. But yea you want to reverse polarity if inverting one of 2.

You lose sound quality so the sound waves change as you have an inverted as opposed to mount it standard

Im confused, i think the way jake has it sounds better. Is that what ur saying. I believe 4th orders sound better standard mounted but 6th orders sound better inverted. Wdyt.

Here's something you haven't thought about, with you motor in the sealed section, the heat can weaken your motor force or magnetism of your motor and your coil would last long be inverted in a fourth order.

no matter how you put it, it's the same because ur box is bandpass

um..... NO.... it does NOT matter which way you mount your sub, period... then end. you will NOT lose ANY DB's.... you will NOT lose efficiency. in fact, the only real difference is a good thing. you WILL dissipate heat slightly better from your motor assembly.
