The biggest frustration for me is still the +2 matchmaking. When you play a tier 6 and can get clipped in 2 seconds by a tier 8 premium it's no fun.

Tiers 4 through 6 are the sweet spot, honestly. Low enough that matches aren't just shitty campfests and chaotic situations still exist, but high enough that you aren't just stomping fresh installs all day. Also, much more real production vehicles and fewer fanfiction vehicles than high tier.

My experience is that 60% of players in low tier games are seal clubbers and 60% of high tier players can’t find the W key or the left mouse button

When I get an itch to play low tier, I'll keep my eyes open for someone who seems new to the game and doesn't appear to understand the basic mechanics. I'll then invite them to platoon for a bit and try to teach them basic stuff like bush mechanics, going hull down, aiming for weak spots, etc. I'm not great at the game to begin with, but I really don't have to be to teach someone basic gameplay. More than a few people I have done this with have gone on to become good or even great players. I think that's one of the best ways to help out people new to the game - just take them under your wing for an hour or two once or twice a week, and before you know it, you've helped dozens of people to get better at the game, making the game more enjoyable for them while giving yourself more competition eventually at the higher tiers.

To be fair back in the day these tanks would also see something like a KV1 and have no hopes of doing damage

Call me crazy but I feel things like the Battle pass shouldn't need tier 6 and up. Or make parallel events for low tiers, a lot of that free stuff would help newbies a lot.

Same story in War Thunder. As a newer player there, I’m constantly being beat down in low B.R. games by seal-clubbers and Smurfs. Really hurts the new player experience and the game overall. It’s nothing new sadly...

I find i have the most fun playing tier V-VIII. Tier 9 and 10 tend to be campfests and one sides affairs.

I think the greatest problem in the lower tiers are the automatic guns on the M2, Pz. II and T2. The last buff on those guns and combined with the decent armor or speed on those tanks have made playing non-automatic guns much harder. Take a T-26 with it's thin armor and slower ROF and have it face against a M2 with the automatic gun and the M2 will most likely come out on top. This is what WG should really focus on. The extra equipment slots on the lower tiers is not what's making it harder for newer players but the saturation of the automatic gun tanks.

This game needs ranking tiers like any other matchmaking game. New players should not be matching with experienced players. Unless they suck ofc.

Man does more damage at tier 3 than I do at tier 10

As someone who's pretty new, I have to say it is a real hell. My first around 50 games I didn't know anything. I still can't say I do but just a little bit more. All that happened was a sixth sense lightbulb would pop and I'd die in the next second every single game. I played a little WoT Blitz before but it didn't go that way there. I was playing World of Warships before and I thought that thing meant I was detected and somehow everyone had their guns on me before I showed up. It's a nice thing people started recommending videos and gave some information. I just picked up some recommendations and got myself a KV-1. I'm still very annoyed of being shot from invisible places by invisible people and I'm just not used to the terrain so can't really position well.

On April 20th Novice Queue was added to the game for the inexperienced players to be able to play other players who are also new. Update 1.12.1 added this to the game.

When I was just starting my journey in World of Tanks I was noob like everyone else. Except there where some people who where already playing the game for couple of years. And the way I was learning the game, I was watching these people play after my tank got destroyed. Pick the guy with most kills and watch what is he doing, what position he takes, where does he look. When you learn anything, just looking at someone experienced doing the thing right is huge opportunity. And WG pushing experienced players away from low tiers is one of the reasons why there are so much absolutely clueless players even on Tier X.

Sometimes I come across a player with a very win rate, and check their battle history… and they have 10k games with a t67. It explains a lot!

Maybe you should have a beginners experience guide to help those in disadvantaged situations could help newer players if there frustrated and looking for answers and support.

I remember having fun in my Luchs. In 2015 I managed to get 3,5k battles in in it... i loved the machine gun with the 320 alpha. It was even awesome against tier 6 if you catch them off guard...

Sometimes i feel so overwhelmed of my team rng current situation etc. and hop into my kv 220 2 to rip apart everything i see confidently. I dont think i will ever forgive myself for things i have done with that tank.

I've seen screen shots taken of seal clubber accounts where there individual tanks with over 20k battles played sometimes even more each.

I don't even know how I managed to survive through this game back when I started playing in 2019 AND not to mention I am a complete free to play

I mean, I'm trying to get my friend up to speed with the game and he's currently got a stock T-28 with 50% crew. He keeps getting hammered by sealclubbing T67 cloaking device tanks and is really starting to hate the game.

The worst part about low tiers is the fact that you alway get spotted before you spot. It makes most 1v1 engagements impossible

Well of course not. With your ability it is just going to be easy mode, esp if you bang a 6t crew and bounty equipment on a tank. It's just not fair. And with that it isn't fun. Years ago the first time I used the Sherman jumbo with the 105 and full gold for a match just derping my way through a team it didn't feel good or fun.

I have to say QuickyBaby is looking more like QuickyDaddy nowadays. Crazy to think I watched him on Twitch back when Tanya had to fly over from Belarus and was only allowed to stay a few weeks every time.

I really love the tier 2 AMR 35. Its 25 mm is not a magazine, and reloads 1 sec. Very fun to use

Low Tier is full of Seal Clubbers, Players with up to 116,000 Games pushing their Win ratio. It's a shame and terrible for Wargaming and new Players.

Yeah I can definitely relate to that, just started a few weeks back on pc, well I had a bit of a advantage because I played WoT on console a lot, still starting the game with no good crew or silver to buy equipment is really frustrating, especially when you see a bunch of seal clubbers on the enemy team

I mainly play low to mid tier games because I can afford to play them. Since I can't afford high tier games, I don't have tier IX or X tanks, or any decent crews I could move up to such tanks. My best crews are in tiers V and VI.

The low tier tanks were always incredibly unfun for me. Horrible grind when I had to go through it back in the day. So many of them are just garbage. The game, at least for me, started at tier 5. Made it hard to recommend for years because not only was there a lot to learn, but the beginning was NOT fun

There are about to be a ton of tier 3 Italian tanks in the game now... But to this point about lower tiers, it's why one of the best changes WG has made is the different classes of equipment and the limitation of the number of equipment on lower tier tanks

I still remember my Pz.3 days from 10 years ago. When you drove around a corner and there was this thing called KV. You shot at it and did ~7% of damage to it, then it shot back and you were oneshot.

Yeah I've been against that wall since returning 7 years later. Tough time trying different tank types with whatever's in garage. Learning maps has been tough too since dying so quickly without getting much practice in. All while not making many credits and going bankrupt with higher tier tanks.

Ah low tier battle. gotta love that playing in tier 10 getting 3k dmg, in a losing battle and bam 7500 credit gone, zero gold. played once in the krupp tier 3 prenium. 12500 credit from a losing battle. tier ten is just too exspensive especially the arties. 33k crdeit to repair 500 hit point of dmg. so losing a few hp will cost you almost as much as a shell fired.

Funny thing is that some ppl from my clan have like 1500+ matches in T3 tanks just to raise their winrate... seriously, it's kinda pathetic D:

There are two mid-tier tanks I love playing. The Panzer III/IV and the KV-2. Both quite fun to play, the second one for obvious reasons. Derp guns are just so much fun.

This happens a lot in War Thunder, best players are playing low tiers more than modern tanks and smash newbies.

This is why I stopped playing, its just pay-to-win across the board.

This sounds more like a PR talk. If you really what to change something then first remove all tiers lower than 5 from your poll tanks and when you do a tech tree showcase you should play it from tier 5. Until you do that, everything you said here is just hypocritical. But i doubt you would even ready a comment that goes against you.

That's one thing I love about War Thunder. Low tiers are so fun to play, and even after unlocking top tier modern tanks and airplanes, low tiers are also unique and fun. Would of Tanks I hate low tier, I only like high tiers.

I do play low-tier tanks, but almost always because there are certain tanks,[ the Matilda, Covenanter, Churchill I, T-46, that Lefb arty, etc.] that I love to play.

I love tier 3. I suck at the game and I love all the diff tanks at 3, and it doesn't cost much to play them.

all the reasons you point out are exactly why I don't enjoy playing WoT. Even after unlocking KV-2 and IS, I still find it ridiculously hard to perform well in those tanks.

As a Newb... I just hit 1000 battles in the game... still enjoying the low tiers (3 and up)... My highest tier tank is a VIII and with still learning all the mechanics I have my butt handed to me a lot in that tank.... It's a fun way to spend some free time still... Love the channel/videos!!

since last update on EU server, the queue for new players is a different one till tier 5. sealsclubbers and veterans play for themseoves now and cant clap the seals anymore. so thats nice.

On the ANZ server we often can only play lower tiers due to lack of higher tier players. We get robots to make up the teams.

I started to play with M15/42 a couple of months ago. For some reason, I had a feeling that one of the Italian lines will soon be top of the tree and I was right. I managed to get a decent crew and the gameplay was awesome. QuickyBaby was right when he said it is one of the best Tier III tanks.

What do you think of the recent changes in the matchmaker to try to assist low tier newbies? Will they work? What would you like to see added or instead of them?

I just started a new account earlier this week, and i've gotta say the grind is kind of an addiction. Having said that I've been having alot of fun grinding out tiers 3-4. But I wish there was an easier way to make credits.

Just started playing again on a brand new account after taking a two year hiatus and abandoning my old account (I was awful. Like, one of the worst players at any tier). This time around I'm taking my time and really learning the mechanics of the game, as well as being more patient and playing tanks more suited to my playing style (lights for now, may dig into TDs at some point), and I'm having a lot more fun. They have added "bot tanks" now at lower tiers, as well as short-handed matches where you may have 8 tanks to a side, which is helpful when you're just learning game mechanics since it's not nearly as hectic. When you do get into full, 30-player matches, it's much easier to adjust to that. The game also starts you out now with a tier 3 tank (in my case, the M3 Stuart), which really gets you into action fast without it being too much too soon. That said, I'm taking my time before just jumping straight to tier 6 like I did years ago and having no clue what I was doing. I plan on playing each tier until it's too easy for me (50+ matches at tier 3, then 100+ matches), then moving up. That way, when I make the jump, hopefully I'll be prepared. I'm also planning on going premium at tier 5 so I can consistently get better equipment and be more competitive. So far, so good. Yeah you are right. I play low tier just to splash…but I miss the old maps at times.
