The state of dinosaur survival games overall is just pretty depressing atm. My main issue is they all lack survival elements and weight too far into combat. It needs to be much more evened out and they need to be more creative when it comes to survival mechanics and pve interactions. This would pretty much eliminate the "there's nothing to do" complaint that we all can pretty much agree on.

I agree. Also the Kaprosuchus mod is without a doubt the most broken and it ruins everything. It can kill apexes, anything its size, and grab anything smaller then itself. Nothing is safe

Imo PoT has popular game syndrome, where it attracts literally every possible player, including those who carebear, afk grow, etc. if it was significantly less popular it probably wouldn’t have as many people who do such things, proportionally speaking.

Pesky's server was made for you. I recommend it. It's got some of the same problems but only the ones baked into the game like people gathering around crater because there's nothing else to do.

I have to strongly agree here. I originally bought Path Of Titans to wait for The Isle to update, and had a good time with it. But overtime, the mods kept stacking up, everyone just was in one spot on the map and I was too nervous to try and attack, knowing I would get jumped by everyone, etc... The game is just... weird.

It has mobile, so no wonder the people can be irritating. I usually run around as pachy, then hit every chatbot to knock them out of their menu’s. Then lead the bold ones to the nearest cliff. Got around 14 Rexes and Eos with that. Most of the Chatbots are the younger folk. They show off their apexes like a Lamborghini and just sit there and think how cool they look.

The biggest problem with all the dinosaur games is that the community ones try to blackmail you into joining their discord servers for the "rules" like they fvcking pretend that there isn't a "rules" or message of the day for a damn reason upon entering the game so it's either risk being banned for being forced to join a stupid discord server, i'm actually so tired of it.

I would love to see more Cenozoic creatures in Path of Titans like the Woolly Mammoth, so the Megalania doesn’t feel out of place.

Gateway is way too big but at least I can find people all over it, POT you can’t find anyone anywhere accept crater and green valley

Official servers aren't just about growing your dinosaur. It's about growing as a person. I prescribe 100 hours on Official server to build your character.

i totally 100% agree with the carebears, i play on a deathmatch server and try to fight just to have 10 people come and help the guy i'm fighting, it's so annoying and all they do is sit and yap in chat. goated video take my like

The mods have really gotten out of hand. People are putting present day animals and fictional creatures into the game, and most servers are bound to have at least one or two mods you despise. I've always loved dinosaurs and got the game because it seemed to be faster paced and more complete then the Isle Evirma.

The Isle combat and gameplay overall is just way better then pot I would rather search and hunt for food to get the perfect diet then going around collecting rocks and acorns all day. That's being said The Isle has some big flaws and could learn from Pot

And half the time people either run away, kill themselves, or as u mention go run to their friends who then proceed to punish you for trying to have a fight in a PVP SERVER! Me personally I like all of the mods, I want insane variety and I want the fantasy creatures aswell even if this is mainly a dinosaur game. I think that hotspots just need to be cleaned out all together. I want to find people migrating to new areas for water and food allowing people to actually be found and fightable. I love this game and it’s pvp (mostly) I just wish that base game wasn’t 8 hours to grow one creature, and that there was more than pvp with proper rewarding systems. I want nesting to be more than “you can grow with a garunteed family now” I want stats and moves to change with hatchlings and this would solve so many of my issues. Like base game lack of combat variety, the hotspots of crater, gp, and gv, and most of all carebears would have something that pour all of their care into. Not to mention I think the idea of “population stress” as I’ve called it would make so many issues vanish. That being that different Dino’s have different population levels they can tolerate before spending to Long in high intensity environments gives them debuffs. Anyway that’s just what I think.

Strongly agree with the "glorified dinosaur forum" point i can never find a server that dosent have everyone sitting in one place and just not playing the game so i just left i still keep up with the updates and get on every now and then to try out new mods and then leave for a few months im personally waiting for AI dinosaurs and nesting to get added because i think these things will help with the hotspot issue the game has

I personally have a problem with “Cuddle Puddlers”, last night I was playing oz, testing out the Ozzie’s grab build and there was a bunch of cuddle puddlers just chilling at gpr, MY KILL COUNT HIGH, MY DEATH COUNT? 1 (only because I got jumped by a Utah horde while low on stam), I love path

To me the mix packing of herbs and carnis are so annoying. The devs are pretty bias against certain dinos over nerfing some and over buffing others.

Pot's growth is completely fine they just need to make questing fun and today me and a random player I found chilled in ic as spinos with a bunch of other people in ic for 2 and a half hours basically 3 hours and those people ended up killing us because we attacked a sarco (which we ended up sparing it's life) so we decided to go gp instead of killing the sarco than as soon as we got further away from water the whole of ic which were chill for 3 hours ganged and killed us and there reasoning being us attacking the sarco

Majority of servers are like this IMO. However, there's a server for everyone. I found one with decent rules, no mix packing, global chat off, growth incentives for playing correctly, and modded balance patches. Just find a server that: Fits what you're looking for, your rulesets, and your speed. IMO, that's a lot easier to do in POT community servers, than it is in Evrima by a LONG shot.

Things pot needs: A better growth system that makes official servers bearable to grow on. A stress/disseas system that forces people to social distance and spread around the map and while they're at it use it to prevent the copious amounts of mega packs we know aren't intended for the base game. We know they can do it, they litterally added an effect that spreads to other players in the vicinity with ramph. A better map, gondwa is nice on land but damn, the ocean to land interaction is basically non existant, they need to take a page from beast of bermuda on that one considering that game at least allows its aquatic players to enter some freshwater areas without crawling on land and with all of 4 ocean dedicated playables planned the ocean creatures will need to interact with the semi aquatic and land playabled for any decent chance at player interaction. Edit: and how could I forget a sound tlc for the whole game.

I agree with alot of the point should raised. I haven't played officials for 2 years ever since I started playing community servers specifically because they don't have passive growth and my only problem with mods is that mod teams are starting to mod the same dinos over and over there's 2 Rex's, 2 Gigas, 2 Charchars, 2 amps it's hard to get excited for new mods when mod teams announce a mod that someone already made

I’ll argue u this. Path isn’t what isle players wanted or what Matt “originally” wanted. But as it’s grown it’s gain a playerbase that’s willing to work with its devs cause its devs work with them. Aswell as because of mod support the community fosters eachother so now it’s done and done its own thing

2:12 problem is of all the like, 10 pvp servers I’ve played only ONE actually has spots where there are guarenteed 1v1s according to the rules and mixpacks can be seperated. Anywhere else, on modded maps at least, mixpacks are unstoppable unless they randomly start killing eachother or get mobbed by ANOTHER mixpack.

Pvp servers are as bad tbh. You have massive friend groups in GP and IC that hunt you down if you manage to kill one of their friend that happened to be alone. You can't hunt because people get mad about you killing adorable and sweet herbi. And then they say gg ez when they get you and it was 10-20 V 1 good for them I guess.

I like PoT and I play it a lot, but I'm moving on to the Isle. The Isle looks very realistic and immersive because there is no map on screen. Use your senses and no attacks that you have to choose unlike PoT.

As a deathmatch player, the introduction is too accurate.

Path of Titans becomes the best game ever if you play it on Arazoa servers. Trust me on this! You will feel like your 75mill years back once you come across a mega herd of 30 people. Plus all of the other areas are populated because of nomad/territory system, Arazoa basically saved the game for me!

ive basically had this game since launch, playing on my phone before growth was a thing. There are 2 things that could be the issue, that werent mentioned, like how gondwa has more main spots then panjura has, since panjura is spread out a lot more people are more spread out.

Big reason I only ever play community servers, mainly on Veloccis so there's still rules but I can also "mixpack" with my friends when we want to be different carnivore species.

IMO, Beasts of Bermuda is still the most "complete" dino sim on the market, despite its abhorrent flaws. Has the most complex nesting, breeding & growth system by a landslide, an impressive weather system with its own natural disasters, unique abilities and niches for each species, sparring and group dynamic mechanics, a perk talent tree for growth progression, elder growth stages, a fully-fleshed out aquatic/marine biome, personal achievement milestones, solid atmospheric soundtrack, extensive biome variety, a public server leaderboard, dynamic regional events (though these could be better,) fully interactive foliage, secret unlockable playables & emotes and competent burrowing/climbing/flying/swimming/grappling/knockdown mechanics. It's such a shame the suffers from terrible optimization, graphics, animations and sound design. But most of all - some bafflingly stupid gameplay decisions throughout its development (RNG/nesting inherits, infinite growth, terrible AI, and a stupidly-accurate scent system come to mind,) which resulted in an insanely toxic, gatekeeping community that essentially killed the game from the inside-out. Oh well, maybe someone else will step to the challenge and finally get it right.

I despise the yack-asaurus that plague the servers. Even on special server events like fight nights they just sit there and do nothing.

I agree with much of what was said about pot. I’m taking a break from playing thankfully summer is here and being outside will be more fun. Personally though my biggest issues with pot is how empty the map feels and the lack of immersive things to do. I’ve gotten bored with trying to walk around and find people. I do it in such a way where I’m just naturally moving through the biomes while questing and I almost never find people. I do find babies and I’ll help them if they don’t run away. But only in five for sure places I have found people to be frequently, GP, GV, IC, YG and HT. It’s always a bigger mixpack and I’m solo 90% of the time, and as soon as they see me I have to leave as it’s a pointless slaughter. The oceans are empty and only in two rivers YG/GP you could find people. Again usually larger mix packs just sitting around talking waiting to annihilate any random person not in the pack. It’s just boring. I do try to find people to group with who needs help or same species and it’s hit or miss, people are so distrustful that they think you are looking for a party to kill them, and people even tell others in chat not to group as it’s a trap. The community is very strange. I’m also so tired of seeing L xyz Dino 632,000x a day in the chat. It’s bizarre. The person knows they lost, I’m not sure why people need to tell them they did. Maybe that’s just me but it just seems pointless. I look forward to the game continuing to grow, and I hope the community grows with it, for the better.

I'm a PS5 Pot user, and I love the pvp aspect of the game. Carebears are enemy number 1, they are so annoying because they get mad at you for fighting even though its a PVP SERVER! Like whaddo you want me to do, sit there afk and yap for 9 hours like you guys??? Now I have attempted to play realism before, and nobody explains any of the downright strange rules. Like I cannot just eat a corpse, if I find it. I have to locate the person who killed the animal, and fight for the corpse. I'm probably gonna stay to pvp at least carebears can be dealt with

That’s y I went to semi real server, this server is actually amazing, great admins, dino profiles, etc there is a lot but it makes it enjoyable

Me briefly critiquing POT Goldfish: hold my red bull My biggest issue with POT is that, past all the broken hit boxes that the lambeo TLC brought with it, past the boring as all hell gameplay loop, past the mixpackers, past the hackers, past the bots and past the third parties, there’s just nothing to do in this game other than PVP. POT may be a more complete game, but under that it has the exact same issues the isle has (I’m not about to sit here and go “oh other than the bad game devs”, just because the POT game devs are better doesn’t mean they’re good. They tend to not fix major problems, constantly do balance waves instead of just singular balance changes, don’t moderate their mods [don’t get me started on DB giga] and they actively enforce bullshit rules on the discord that makes actual criticism impossible especially on mods. The devs also prioritize new playables instead of making their game better, which really hurts the game in the long run. Saying the POT devs are better than the isle devs is like clearing a high jump without the pole, it’s just not impressive)

I agree. I don't have a lot of experience in this game yet, but I already realized what's the problem of this game. So, I bought Path of Titans a few weeks ago, and my first week did really well. I enjoyed it, because I haven't played something like that before. I liked the way dinosaurs looks like, their diversity and possibilities. I got killed by these huge packs several times, but I chalked it up to the fact that I completely suck in pvp. But then things get worse. I started slowly realizing that the game is very boring. I understood that I was walking around the map until another pack of utahraptors find and absolutely annihilate my ass. I visited Impact Crater, Big Quill Lake, and Green Valley. And people were doing exactly what you described in your video there. Just sitting and chatting in piece! I saw a bloody fully grown giganotosaurus using some clown skin sitting and flirting with iguanodon or whatever it even was. I played as tyrannosaurus. I was hiding behind a tree, preparing for attack. Another giga just saw me about to attack a lambeosaurus who was sitting right next to a sauropod. He looked at me and shook his head. I was about to do that, but I realized that the nicknames of those creatures were coloured, which basically means that they are admins. I asked if I can actually hunt them without being banned, their response was something like "of course you can hunt us :3

This is why I play on (and mod for) a semi realism server. I also hate being killed for no reason then someone goes “L get gud noob quit playing” despite the players obvious huge advantage or players sitting in the same area. It gets rid of most problems the game has player base wise, and makes it a bit more realistic

This video just proves my point to people who says path of titans is more balanced than the isle. The only reason why the isle is bad is because of the lag we get all the time and how brutal it is to find food and how we died Easily but here path of titans (not even being a dinosaur game like it supposed to do) having the dumbest mods everywhere and who wants to go to a official/multiplayer sever when you have to spend 8+ hours growing only one of any dinosaurs and having mix or mega packers 24/7. So either way path of titans ways are dumb, not fair and never having good severs (ether no rules but you can’t hunt unless you want half of the player in the sever stealing your kill and players friends with half of the players on the sever or severs with the most gay rules ever to the point it not fun plus the dumb mobs) Soo no the isle is not harder or not fair then path of titans.

Path of Titans is not complete it's actually still a beta and the developers still have a bunch of stuff that they want to do they do plan on changing quests,adding AI dinosaurs and a bunch of other things

I'm so glad I don't have these issues when I play. A pw protected server is the best

path of titans is just a weird game... so many weird and unreal modcreatures and beautiful but unreal maps too... players are annoying, the growingsystem is trash, the quests give you wayyyy not enough marks, skins cost too much, running speed and jumping high are both not enough (my opinion), too much knockback, grab system weird and broken too like the hitbox but the nicest think are the things you can pick up and everywhere you are, are players like not just in the impact crater, nice skins and nice dinosaurs with nice attacks, buffs and other things

And that's why when I play PoT, I play on a server with a 1v1 arena, with fast growth, and with a rule that anos can't hunker down... Or just steal trophies from mega packs as rhamph

Come try out Thunderdome sometime! It's got absolutely no pvp rules(only rules on chat behavior) it's got a bit of a low player count right now but it's a bit of a tight knit community, there are carebears yes, I am unfortunately one of them but only if it's someone I'm actively chilling with/someone in my party, but our hotspot teleports are changed weekly and we have an arena teleport where you can set up fights, of course with no rules, people can still interrupt but most of the time we respect agreed on 1v1s and I myself would personally even attack any interruptions to an agreed 1v1 on their behalf if I am present. Completely up to you of course!

I play solo allo. The last year and a half it's very tough. Do you have to worry about Carebears and huge squads of Kos packs herbivore and carnivore alike. Getting chased for 45 minutes on a dinosaur that has terrible stamina. The game is fun there are some days I'm so frustrated that I tell myself I'm not going to play for a couple months and then catch myself yearning for the ability to play as a dinosaur again. You guys can have your opinion. I literally have no friends that play this game and I always play by and because of that I felt my fair share of toxic lot of players. I enjoy the game for what it is. (I never stop playing more than 3 days)

have you ever heard of PT, KTO, or Ex Argilla? those teams make genuine balanced and fun mods that aren't the bloop

In the moment i like path of titans much more than The Isle because i have more immersion and i feel more rewarded when i grow a dinosaur to adult because i actually worked for it plus i don’t loose the whole dinosaur when dying. I was a The Isle fanboy and maybe i will like The Isle more when its actually good with more playables and playable performance wise

Got death threats for suggesting a way to fix care bearing and mixpacking in the game or at least encourage people to not do it. That’s how “peaceful” the community is. I once shared artwork in their discord server and all I got was nitpicking the text font I used, never have I ever been treated like that in the isle community, obviously people have gone through different experiences but every time someone says that pot community is better than the isle community, I laugh, cause that’s plainly wrong, they’re either equally bad or pot is worse cause I’ve heard many people other than myself say that while playing pot, in-game chat. Not to mention the toxicity some care bearers have, the ego they show in chat after ganging up on you with apexes

Which is why I love to play community servers , realism servers or semi ones are the best or sometimes pvp servers too with instant one or almost instant (realism when I want my own focuse and own species to socialize without anyone getting betwen beside them actually being hungry for it and pvp for when I am feisty xD)

Depends on the servers you play on thats for sure, yes you do obviously get people that still ruin it for other people however ik the server im on our moderation is good and we also have a good balancing system entirely depends on what your playing aswell

Path of Titans is my go-to between it an the Isle (it just runs better and has more to do), and even I very much agree with you on both Official and those particular community servers. Which is why I don't play on either. I play on "realism" servers, I like the sets of rules, the curated mods, and the lack of carebears or KOSers. Its not for everyone, but that's kind of the point, its for those of us who like that style of play. I remember that video of yours from a couple months ago where you set out to conceptualize your perfect dinosaur game, and I'll be honest I wouldn't ever play it if it was a real thing. It just isn't the kind of game I'd ever be interested in playing. But that's why I think Path of Titans is as popular as it is, it is extremely easy to make into whatever any given community wants to make out of it. And I imagine it will only get easier with the introduction of new game types. What's important is that whatever anybody does with PoT or any other game for that matter, is that they have fun, however they choose to do so.

Questing is the perfect way to get players to spread out, they just have to actually use it. And make official servers more fun

The growth system is the main reason itself difficult for me to get into path of titans, I’m new-ish to the game and starting to play it more now to get into the groove but when I do play most of my time is on community serves who have passive growth of some kind. The fact that the ONLY way you can grow even a little bit in the base game/official servers is by doing quest after quest after quest (which usually involves collecting stuff most of the time) is unbearable. When I see another player like an allo or something my first thought is never : “is he going to eat me?” It’s “oh he’s probably trying to deliver mushrooms just like I am” which kinda makes it feel like survival isn’t as important as it should be.

Now, I know that the official servers can be an absolute mess and take forever. HOWEVER, I still actually enjoy them. To me it’s cool to beet the odds and survive anyway, without having to deal with so many rules. The questing is LONG, but can be sped up with optional routs or reserving questing time to when I have the well rested buff. This game isn’t perfect, but somehow it still keeps me coming back.

I mostly play path of titans on official. I know it can be terrible but I dislike the modded Dino’s as many don’t feel balanced well. I really enjoy the game overall even though officials takes forever to grow a Dino on but I don’t mind that too much. I’d say my biggest complaint with the game is how once grown there isn’t a reason to travel the map and that’s one reason so many people huddle up at crater. I don’t wanna tell people how to play but it isn’t fun trying to find immersion in a Dino game and everyone is playing the land before time by a pond. I’m not sure the best way to fix this but if they could encourage people to travel the map more hunting would feel so much better than thinking “ I’m hungry again, guess I’ll check crater for corpses”. Now playing in a group changes allot of things but I love the feeling of hunting solo and it can be pretty rough trying to do that sometimes

I think it all comes down to:PoT is more of an MMO dino game than survival,still is in fact in open beta and by the looks of it you just play officials or heavy pvp servers. If you want a more easy or realistic experience try servers like Arazoa,PTR or WWD who have rules,admins and stuff to keep all balanced,they even have different stats to make animals feel better. Its fine if you dont enjoy it,it aint for everyone and path is still being built but regardless the idea is for everyone to have fun each on its own games❤🤙🏼

Ive been playing path of titans since 2021 and oh boy has the game changed a lot since then. I still remember when there were no mods, no growth and when the combat was than the isle’s. It was a fairly niche community everyone was moat likely a paleo fan. But then the game became popular and everything changed. It became a glorified forum with overpowered mods everywhere. The combat became worse because the devs are afflicted with chronic nerfing disorder. I just cant until ai comes cuz when it arrives the game is gonna hopefully be a lot better cuz the map is no longer gonna be populated by chatbots who SIT AROUND DOING NOTHING

What you're talking about is right but it isn't the whole picture l was having this problem when I first started playing but know when i found the right server everything is fine my server is islander and about the balance i think it's fine every creature has chance when fighting it depends on the player skill so that's why i like the GamePlay of pot more than the isle because in the isle all my work get erased by one shot from a dieno or stego

Mods are not only horribly balanced against the base roster, but not balanced at all between each other. If you play a certain mod just because you enjoy it or think it's cool, get ready to get run down and murdered by another mod that's steonger than you, faster than you, has more stamina than you, and has bone break too for good measure.

I disagree with you saying that most on officials play low to medium tiers as in my experience it’s a 50/50 split between apexes and the lower tier dinos but everything else you said I 109% agree with. I wish passive growth was a thing so we didn’t have to solely rely on quests

I love path of titans and I agree with what you said, me and my friends play it we contently have to deal with this we legit start calling it VRchat rooms at this point and it has made some of us drift away from the game and its sad and I love the modding seen of the game but some mods are uhmmmm yea special to say the least. I have played all three of the dino games and the isle will always hold a special place in my hard cuz I played it since it came out I have been there throught it all and even tho evrima hasnt been the greatest I still love it and path of titans is just a fun and interesting game and like I said I love the modding for the game its just sad that it gets ruined by a specific playerbase.

I would recommend servers like semi realism if you want to enjoy it, it’s not like rule city but the rules are fair and makes fights and gameplay fun and you can still relax when you want and just enjoy some chatting but it’s just my opinion.

While I do agree with the narrative that official servers are complete ass, (many of my friends refer to it as the "ghetto" of PoT with all of the random KOSing and clan on clan wars). Community servers are a mixed bag and I do genuinely believe that there are 100% amazing servers that CAN do what the isle does in terms of bringing more high quality survival gameplay. The only problem being that in order to experience these servers you have to go through a longer process to get into them as they're password locked forcing you to actually be in the discord. On top of this many people get scared off of these quality gated servers as they're marked as "Full Realism" of which people tend to associate negatively as casual players. BUT despite this I believe these servers are what many Isle players desire in PoT despite their reluctance to dip their toes into it and I do feel it is the closest you can get to having that more "hardcore" experience in the game that makes it feel more worth while to grow and play. I think people forget just HOW customizable PoT is as a game and what server owners can do with their servers, (for example you can edit stats, environment, day and night cycle, etc). And you can also have servers with only high quality mods on top of this. I genuinely believe that its only a matter of time and patience for the "right" server to emerge for those craving more with how much potential PoT has for this exact thing.

tbh i hate when people use survival games as regular hang-out games and devs make hang-out games look like survival games, DWM is a great example of a dinosaur chat room but with survival elements, yeah sure they have ecosystem mode but that's just it. or is it? idk

I personally play it as a server game, and yes, carebears are annoying

I love all about Pot, but one reason bothering me, and it's the 20% you losing your marks on official when you get killed.
