Damn, i’m actually relating to this so hard. I’m trying to become an animator to make cartoons and other awesome stuff, but was led to believe that i needed to go through college to get a good degree and maybe then i could get a animator job. Problem was, college was the absolute worst for me. The teachers were nice, and some of my friends from high school were there too, the thing however was that i wanted to become a cartoonist animator, abd make some drawn animations. The school had nothing to help with that! They had artist program, 3D modeling programs, stuff for every kind of animating type, but not the one i wanted. Also, my grades were so bad in the first year alone that i lost my college tuition thing and would have to pay for my classes from then on. Bigger problem was i was poor and jobless. I had a job before going to college, but was laid off before then. They didn’t even tell me what the reason was for, those jerks! My parents ended up having to pay for a single class to keep me in college. I failed it to. It was then on that i realised that college may not be for me and decided to drop out as the simester ended. Currently i’m trying to find a new job and trying to make cartoons on my own. I’m still not finished, and i’ve got a long ways to go. I’m just glad i have a family that supports me, even though i’m pretty much crashing at my parents place at this point. I just hope something good’ll come up. Also, i might try and upload my cartoon if i ever get it finished. Probably on a different channel, mind you.

Dude, can we give massive props to Kevin? He kept looking for his brother to the point he had to take a bullet for Luke by talking to their parents about him dropping out. As an asian myself, the stereotype of parents want their kids to have good grades at school is true. Asking to drop out of collage is like an American teen telling their parents they want to move to Syria or something. It's also amazing that Luke already had his life planned out because he made a silly Mario 64 bloopers all those years before. Life is funny sometimes, isn't it? Looks like the meme lord is a MUCH more wise guy then he ever lets up~

This really gives perspective and understanding into SMG4's life Kevin is really like a Father figure for Luke, and is a big reason Luke is Happy with his life, because of his support. It is also good how SMG4 explains that the way he did things isn't for everybody and that you need to do what works best for you My father always taught me to not just go to university because you think it's what you should do, or what you think is expected. Figure out what you want to do first, and then decide how to do it

I started watching SMG4 in elementary school in 2017. I will never forget that experience and SMG4 is STILL my favorite channel

Being someone who is currently going through the struggles of high school (The Salty Spittoon) right now I can 100% relate even with parents who want me to do academic jobs and a mom who wants me to do my best and is very strict with my grades, and a holes at school + people who are literally like potheads or Sluts (no joke) and being unsocial, with all that in my life I really loved this and I think you should do this more (if you can/want to of course) and your smg4 videos really helped pull me away from a dark place in fact you inspired me to take animation classes next year so... thank you

Man... I'm in my first semester of college right now... and I'll tell ya... I have to agree! It feels like mindless work, pushing ahead only to be given your next task. I really love these talks! Im the guy that hates their own degree. I finally choose my own path last year because its hard to do job that you dont passionate about and honestly my degree isnt do justice to my work options since im computer engineering but strangely my college mix it with tiny bit of android, robots and programming. I really hate those until finally i tried to find community with my only canon 200d that I dont have any knowledge about photography and the community is warm and welcoming. Started my hobby as my job and now i become videographer and editor. Best decisions of my life that formerly always walk to my parents chosen path and just life flat. I know nowadays im shortage of money because no job at covid 19 outbreak. But i achieve many things that i never had and happiness i never felt during schools and college.
