After working for two years as a doctor in the Emergency room, this is my story on why i had to step back and take time off.
What i struggled with, my advice on how to get through similar emotions, questioning my path, my life’s purpose and what i learned from all of it.

I dunno how or why this has shown up on my feed but I completely get this. I have reached the end of my training and this all resonates.

Thank you for commenting! i knew this would resonate with a lot of people that work in health care, training can be really challenging, it’s important that we take care of ourselves through it. Wish you all the best with the rest of your training!

Thank you for sharing, it's always a good thing to step back and smell the rose's, I can relate, I was working 12-14 hours a day 14 days straight with only 3 days off but my longest shift was 23 hours during a fatal accident that I attended, after 6 years I was soo burnt out that I had an accident at work and was almost killed, a car went through a red light and drove over the top of me, I have been off work for the past 3 months but will be well enough to go back to my duties on the 18th of October, I really don't want to return, I'm done but I must give them 1 more year and then I'm retiring early and moving overseas to pursue other opportunities. Your good with people and in a hospital patients are afraid and scared, they need that contact and reassurance. I know I did. What did you do before you got in to medicine? You said you like to read, have you ever considered writing a novel? You are doing an important occupation always focus on the best things you like /love about it. Thank you for the content and thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing your story. I’m so sorry about your accident! I really hope you get strong and healthy again. wish you all the best with moving overseas sometimes a change in the environment can help a lot I enjoyed reading and watching films a lot and I’m doing more of that now. And your point to always focus on what to like and love about the job is very true, it helps you to get through tough moments. Thank you for watching and for your comment. Wish you a good recovery.
