Ghana does have some benefits for American expats. The cost of living is substantially lower than in many major U.S. cities. The weather is also warm year-round. However, there are also some drawbacks to living in the country which can make it challenging to settle and start a new life in Ghana. In this video I share the story of Gabby who moved to Ghana twice before but had to move back to America on two separate occasions. She has finally returned with some insight on what works and what doesn’t when you are making the move here.
Hope this is insightful for you all.

My name is Jasmine and I have relocated from Sydney Australia to Ghana in west Africa as of the year 2020.
My parents are of Ghanaian descent and so am I although I was born in Australia. Here on my channel, my goal is to give you a real glimpse into what it’s like to live in Ghana and other parts of Africa, from the food, to the culture, to the lifestyle and everything in between. My goal is to satisfy your curiosity about Ghana and other African countries.
My prayer is that these videos do just that for several African’s in the diaspora.
Follow your bliss because life is short, follow your bliss because human life has no intrinsic value, follow your bliss because everything happens for the greater good and follow your bliss because it has all happened before.

Two of my favorite Social Media personalities; I am so grateful that has not been my American life. I was blessed with an employer who valued a work-life balance. Now that my Ghanaian husband and I have built a home in Ghana (a very stressful process), I will start spending more time in Ghana to determine if that's the place for my future; so far I am okay with living between both countries. Great interview; but Gabby has always been very honest about the pros and cons of Ghana!

Love both of you ladies. I went to Canada as a four year old...returned to GH for high school at age 12. Went to a boarding school from form 1-5. Worst experience of my life. I think I cried every day for at least the first two years. I too still have a few friends from that era. Returned back to Canada for university. I'm 54 now.

@@JasmineAmaa Thank you Jasmine for your encouragement words. Frankly I'm a Nigerian born and living in Sydney Australia 🦘🌏 for about 21 years now.. I'm a Technician building Stationary and Mobile Cold Room Storage facilities for Agriculture produces preservation. And I want to bring this knowledge come back to Africa to start food 🥑🥝 preservation business. As I knew many food 🥑🥝 in Africa continent is being wasted due to lacks of food preservation facilities. And I want to bridge that gap. But I'm scared 😨😳 to go to Nigeria my birth country due to Insecurity in Nigeria. I can manage Corruption in Nigeria. But I cannot manage insecurity. This is the reason I'm looking for other country in Africa to relocate to. I was in Africa recently to visit couple of countries before making final decision on which country to relocate to. I came to Africa to do physical survey. I visited 4 countries in the East Africa region. And I visited 6 countries in the west Africa region including Ghana. I will start the relocation by next year. Jasmine enjoy yourself over there in Ghana. I knew that you too are Sydney girl. I knew you through Wode maya. Since then I've been following you. I knew when you visited Australia I think last year. I am Nigerian and I am from "next door" when I came to Ghana I had a very beautiful experience, but Ghanaians are a bit too laid back for me. Making money or having a good source of income was a big challenge. Ghana can be very expensive, but with a very solid plan, patience and God's grace, you would push through. Be strong and don't lose hope.

@@franciskojo2559 I believe Ghana can be one of the best African countries in Africa. God has located you well, you are not Landlocked, you have the sea as an advantage, you have a wonderful climate and your soil is fertile. You are are not overwhelmed concerning your population, your present population is still ok. Ghana has everything going for her, third largest supplier of cocoa in the world and you still have a little bit of gold left, but mark my words if the people don't change their attitude towards life, buckle up and take life seriously, she would be a country that never reached (1/10) one tenth of her potential. You would understand once the population begins to overwhelm the infrastructure which I know is happening, then you would know where your patriotism lies, whether you would continue to hold on to a country that is failing in everthing. God help those who help themselves, ask Nigerians they are in a better position to know, we are regretting it now.

"Being single or married each has its unique benefits, and it's not about 'qualifying' for a top-tier husband. A single woman can find peace, guidance, protection, provision, and spiritual counsel through her own strengths, community, and personal development. On the other hand, a good husband can indeed contribute positively in these areas, but it's crucial to remember that these qualities are not exclusive to marital status. Both paths are valid and can lead to a fulfilling life."

14:49 That conversation is real talk. I started my career in that flow where everything was scheduled, automated, routine. Tied to a schedule, thats tied to an office, thats tied to a computer and corporate system. You start to look at how much money is coming into the company (you bring in), how much you are being paid and the hours of your very life being used every day for that compensation and I couldn’t do it anymore. I remember leaving, cashing out and that first year I made dramatically less money than I did in corporate but my quality of mental health increased 10 fold. Then as my transition plan started working I found myself working on my terms, using far less of my time but making the same money at those upper levels. It wasn’t without risk, but risk can be managed with planning and discipline.

To live in Africa you need to be adaptable & have a concrete plan where you wish to live & work permanently. The days of holding a job are over. Think businesses & self employed in Africa.
