You probably know that soft-spoken, calm, polite, elegant, classy, and refined are traits that Japanese people highly value, whether in architecture, clothing, cuisine, design, or social interaction. Japan is not meant for everyone, but for those who can instinctively sense the comfort in the air will be a good match with Japan.

Thank you for the beautiful video. First and foremost, as a Japanese person, I would like to congratulate you on embarking on this significant journey in Japan. You mentioned cultural differences in your video. While Germans and Japanese are often said to share traits like discipline and rigidity, I believe there are significant differences, particularly in the culture of discussion and debate. Of course, as you mentioned, there are both positive and negative aspects to these cultural differences. Embracing and incorporating these differences might be challenging, but I sincerely hope that your dreams come true.

As a German after my first visit to Japan I liked it a lot more than Germany. Now after 8 visits I've got a better picture and see a lot of good and bad things in both countries. It's really about what you value in life. I'll move there next year and will see what life has in store for me there.

You have made a great choice. Japan is marvelous and Kyoto brings us some kind of peace we can’t explain. I have been in Japan last week from a 15 day trip and Kyoto was my favorite place. I wish I could move there too since I have Japanese nationality, but was born and live in Brazil. Tks for this lovely and encouraging video.

I’m from America, Visited Japan awhile ago, in my opinion Japan probably one of the best country to live in because it is so peaceful, they care about nature sense of high morale to society and many more. I am seriously love your channel because you shoot so many about nature scenes and I love nature very much can’t live without it. I am so desperate to live away from chaos society like the US. Have a good day.

The longer you live there the more hypocrisy you’ll see. The Japanese love their disposable chopsticks. And in order for them to have them Indonesian Rainforests are being mowed down to provide them. When you ask Japanese people why they don’t cut down their own trees to supply their disposable chopsticks they reply “But our forests are sacred!”

I would love to visit Japan and spend some time in a traditional Japanese house - much like where you are staying. Japanese culture has the best sense of aesthetics and I find their art, architecture, garden design etc. breathtaking. As a Buddhist, I also like the fact there is a strong Buddhist influence in Japanese culture (although myself - as a meditator - I am more into the Thailand/Myanmar/Sri Lankan Theravadan). Looking forward to more videos of Japanese culture to inspire my next overseas travel perhaps? 🙂

When I visited Japan for the first time in 2017, I felt the happiest I had ever been. Just being there made me feel at peace in a way that is hard to explain, and I have never felt that way since. Before my visit I was going through a hard time in my life that had been going on for a long time. I remember feeling more and more depressed as time went on and I remember feeling very lost in life. After I came back from Japan, I had a great desire to go back. So I decided to try to teach English in Japan. I spent the next three years finishing my AA and finding a teaching Job at a cram school. And then the next two years waiting for Covid to end so that I could enter the country. When I had finally reached Japan and settled in, I was at first happy because I achieved what I most desired. However, after a couple weeks my feelings started to change. I don’t fully understand why but I did not feel the same as I did when I first came to Japan. I became very lonely and depressed while I was there. I was hopeful that it would eventually go away as I met people, but it never did. I came back home after two years and now I don’t know what to do. I just wish I could feel the way I did when I first visited Japan.
