Either him or big band, they both captured the playstyles and vibe they were going for so perfectly. If you haven't seen any big band play yet i would highly recommend, he has a mechanic where you can literally just play the trumpet with every note included and a super where you can force them to listen to it big band is so dope. All the characters in skullgirls are super dope though.

I want to take a moment to emphasize just how strong Beowulf is. That one handed grapple he can do to every single character in the roster? Big Band is canonically one ton of brass and Beowulf holds him exactly in the same way. That's a goddamn death grip

Super late reply, but I hope you found pointers into Beowulf. To make the extra grapples you need to have "hype" level by doing throws/using the howl taunt. The next time you do a grapple, if you press two buttons you make a "hype grapple" which allows you to extend your combo

I finally returned to this game after years of just looking at it instead of playing it. I also went through all the tutorials and formed my own notes. The tutorial does a very good job but you just need a quick way of seeing all the information at once. Hype mechanic. There are a few ways to do it. Hold mp and 4 mic drops = 1 hype level. Or you can hold LP and get all three. Or do Aroo Ready taunt to max out as well. If you are level 0 hype, if you do one special throw ender you usually get 1 hype for free. You cannot use the same hype throw consecutively except for Wulfamania blockbuster super. To execute a hype throw use two buttons instead of one. If you string them together and end with the Grendal Killa you get a special gong sound effect. If you kill with the jumping body drop hype lv3 you get the penguin referee. The chair adds 250 damage for most of the throws that you an trigger with it. It doesn't work with most hype throws though. Also worth noting is the difference between headbutt and knee. Knee does more damage but headbutt gets you more meter. All the best and good luck.

@@Toomnyusernae MP has a tight window for pipe bomb to combo so you can gain hype mid combo before starting the grapple chain. You have to manually release it before it would do so otherwise. Not huge but it's nifty if the opponent isn't giving you breathing room.

EX input, it consumes a Hype charge(indicated by the pyrotechnics that occur when you spend or gain Hype) to get a continuation or transition into grab stance off the air grabs, you gain Hype through Grabbing, slamming your foe into the chair, holding LP, holding MP, or doing your Taunt, it and hitting Wulfamania instantly gives you the full three stock of Hype

It's been 9 months, but if you havent figured it out, you know how you press a button and a direction to do his grab moves? Just press another while you have hype. For example, forwar PP to do his EX press slam. You could've played his character tutorial you know, it explains everything.
