I was in madeira a few years ago and I loved the island, very cleaning loved it so much that I want to go back there, and I went parachuting 🪂, it was an extraordinary experience, thank you very much for the beautiful videos ❤

Enjoyed your informative video! Question. We're planning to move to Portugal and considering Funchal - because it has warmer winter weather than the Algarve. But we understand that the warmest weather in Funchal is below the "banana line". In your experience, is there a big difference between below and above the banana line? Thanks!

Great stuff Jeff and the team, we played Tennis at Quinta Magnolia last year and loved it! Madeira needs more Tennis facilities 🎾 keep up the great work!!

I love tennis I and hope to play in Funchal one day. Being a tennis buff I noticed that Veronica never has to hit a backhand. She can hit a forehand with either right or left hand. Well done! Hope to play with you guys in 2023.

It's always cloudy in Madeira's videos. Very rarely I saw a beautiful blue sky.

nice video! I have a question about the weather. I'm excited to move to the island, have warm weather all year, but i really hate cold and it seems like the winter in Funchal is from december till april? so it gets cold inside and outside pretty much for 4-5 months? no beach time and no sun during this period? thanks a lot for the info! Beautiful island indeed!!

not at all bud, in the winter it's between 13 and 20 degrees Celsius maybe, still with lots of sun. I know people who swim all year round .... not too many warmer winter destinations than Madeira and Funchal in particular

@@Hittheroadmadeira I agree! In Europe it is the best place. Southern Tenerife is warmer, but no way even close to the beauty of Madeira! And no crazy hot summers - also a huge plus! anyway, see you there! :)

Hi there! This is a very interesting video, thank you so much! :D I have a bit of a weird question, not sure if you have the answer to it but I'll try anyway. I'm an italian musician looking for a warm place to spend the next winter, the Island seems amazing from videos and I would be totally keen to come. I was just wondering if you have any info on the situation In town concerning live music in bars and with buskers (street music as well) as well... are tourist coming for the winter as well? Thanks so much in advance!

Hey Gioele, hard for me to say ... I know musicians here who are making an OK living, but there is a lot of competition, you need to find a place to stay which nowadays is not cheap as well ... I also don’t know how good you are? 🤣 maybe you could try, and if you don’t like it, you leave ;)

What are the names of some of the more shaded neighborhoods in Funchal & perhaps have more space to move around in than in the central parts of Funchal? Right now I'm trying to get an idea of the different neighborhoods in the city that are more 'removed' from the city- if that makes sense!

Hey Holly, I don’t understand what you mean by shaded? But I guess maybe what you’re looking for might be Ajuda, São Martinho, Santo António and São Gonçalo ... they’re all “removed” from the centre and great places to live

I am very much considering Maderia for June. We only know how to drive automatic which rentals are very high. I saw one of your videos that wanted to support local business. How would I find a reputable driver for many day trips

I believe anyone can reserve playing time, not sure the rate cause usually it’s not me paying 😂 but it’s affordable :)

Real Estate agents, just got hold of as many different ones as you can. I would recommend booking an airbnb for a few weeks so you can find the ideal place once you arrive instead of on the internet ;)

@@Hittheroadmadeira My grandparents house is right across the way where you were playing tennis. Years ago that tennis court was not there and that was one of the holes of the golf course. Thank you for showing these videos brought back a lot of fond memories.

Good video editing - music was a little loud for the intro. I think you should maybe do a series of such as "living in Madeira for a day" - discuss the costs, eating habits, travel etc in more detail. Or maybe perform one of those eating challenges, such as "eating for a day in Madeira for 10 euros or something" - it will likely cost more thna 10 euros for anything fancy but you get the idea. Maybe do another series on how much it costs to buy property, or how much it costs to rent - those are often very popular and the estate agents will like the free promotion. Keep up the great work.

Could make a video that describes the current life for locals on Madeira island ? Their common difficulties cost of living housing market prices. As more i try to know and understand Madeira the more it looks like wonderful place to live but it is a nice place when you have money but for local it is probably becoming very difficult due to so much foreigners coming the live on the island.

Hi Dimitri, I think that is a topic that perhaps would generate too much unpopular opinion. I am a positive guy and I don’t want to be looking for negative things. I prefer to celebrate than to complain. Life is getting more expensive everywhere, I’m sure where you live house prices have gone up yes? Everywhere is getting expensive my friend, the only difference is that now we have opportunity, years ago my family left Madeira because there was not enough money or food. Now you have tourism and there is work and new opportunities, I prefer to see the opportunities. There are many great videos coming to this channel, but this kind of topic I think I am staying away from my friend I’m sorry, I hope you stick around 🙏 have a great weekend 🤠

What kind of internet connect exists in Madeira? Is there fiber or cable?

Fibre optic cables I believe ... super good internet !

Portugal is a super tech country, internet you can get 1000/200Mbps for less than €40 monthly. Your annually income declaration can be done in a few clicks , several companies work for NASA and the US Army. The ATM machine, provide several services, paying bills, bank transfer and deposit, and withdraw without card just with your phone

I’d love to know more about buying property there (houses in little village towns vs apartments in the city) maybe video series idea 😁🙏 prices, process for expats etc (buying living like locals not “luxury villas”)

We are a family of 4 and would want something more in the villages like a house with little yard, quaint, cozy, easy access to the city … which I’m an island I’m sure that’s everywhere 😂) than the city center, most videos are about Funchal (makes since) but I’d love to see into the towns and locals etc 🥰🥰 Also I’ve heard of the Expat village but there’s not much on the community there?
