I think it’s probably because Yuuri learned a lot of his English when he was studying ice skating in America? Whereas Viktor has mostly just learned English in Europe and hasn’t used it as the primary form of communication therefore he still has an accent

@@madelinemurphy7484 I think that was the idea about his English dubbing that way on American accent and the same happened on his close-friend Pichit who is Thai, but also studied along him in USA. It seems that aside from Leo De la Iglesia who is already American himself (though from Latino heritage), they were the only characters dubbed with USA accent because of it.

It’s funny that when they first met, Yuri was a real flirt and won over Victors heart. Now in the beginning of the series, it might seem that Victor is coming on strong- but he was simply flirting back, and surprised about how bashful Yuri is acting compared to when he was drunk. Hilarious lol

I totally agree- the dub is honestly really good because it makes more sense. Literally, the characters would be conversing in English, for one, and they would 100% have accents (and i think the VA's did a great job).
