Not saying you're wrong, but one thing you said that was confusing--the 200k emeralds you get at max totem fragments isn't 4x the base emeralds but 4x (or more like 3.5x) what you would get *during* a sale. You can think of it as a 13.5x multiplier to base emeralds for $45, which makes it an insane deal when you think of it from the perspective of a long-term player.

just so you're aware the lack of emeralds on the last three maps is because the 20k emeralds is how i got my first and only totem so far, the flag chest nerf was also a directly targeted at me nerf - because i pwn them

Hey, Charlie. I have a question. I watched your video about not taking EXP points yesterday. I too was doing that for a while now since it has gotten way too hard to pass the Tower. Now, I am thinking: What if I put my weakest heroes to the Arena and Grand Arena defense? At the moment, I don't have teams even close enough to be in the top 150 of the Grand Arena and top 300 in the Arena. So what is the point of me even trying. There is just no way (my heroes are at 68 on average and top 200 in the Arena is all 85+ Gold: regardless of how good my counter is, they walk through me). So every morning, I wake up and I am down from 350 to like 400-420 in the Arena. And out of 5 free arena matches, I may beat 2 or 3, get back to 350, and then, just lose the rest of my matches (there is no way for me to beat any of those teams). So I'm basically, wasting 2-3 good wins that award 4-6 huge experience potions. Those potions are expensive. Wasting 4-6 of them every day is like wasting 50,000 Gold. Plus the missed gold for winning (22,000 per win or 66,000 for 3 wins). So if that happens on both Arena and Grand Arena, sometimes, I miss on 200,000 Gold in a single day So if I put the crappiest heroes to the defense, every morning, I will wake up to being at the bottom of the Arena and Grand Arena. I easily go back to where I were the night before but this time, by winning all 5 times. Get extra 200,000 Gold Are there any drawbacks to dropping to the bottom of the Arena or Grand Arena rankings?

Must a working strategy for some people because I keep getting players in the Arena who have just a level one hero for their defense team and that's it.

Just low rewards: The daily Arena reward is one of the few places in the game that will provide you consistently with an amount of completely free Emeralds, every day. The better your ranking at the end of the Arena day, the larger amount of Emeralds you collect. Conversely, Grand Arena gives you rewards in G.A. Coins every hour. You can spend those on hero equipment fragments in the G.A. shop. The longer you stay in the upper levels of G.A. ranking, the more coins you collect.

@@slavecek yes, but the typical situation is that the whales try not just take good position in both Arena and Grand Arena but they continuously attack back and they don't let other players to take good reward. The Grand Arena requires more whaling so is a player takes top 1-2-3 place there then there is no point to take the Arena top position. There is no double reward, but the highest position is considered but ofc there are players who don't share the simple idea to play and let others to play. I talked to one guy why he does it. He told because he does not want opponents to be stronger.
