Coming on here to comment as a 79 series owner haha. its a hard call to make saying one car is better then the other, or the killer. im not upset by the statement, but for me, I love the simplicity of my 79. Also the live axles front and rear. lots of clearance and also power to boot. yea, I had to remap the ute to get the power, but now can comfortably tow 3.5 ton up hill at 100km/hr. i know my dual cab is shit on road compared to the others. over priced for what you get. but I started off in the old GQ patrol and have always love that simplicity and tractor/ point anywhere and chug a long feel. i got a new ford ranger in 2019 and yea, that was nice to drive, very nice. but with in 11 months I had it blow up bad and lost it for 4 months as they trying to fix it. thats when I went to toyota and asked for a new 79. anyways long story short haha. all these new cars just feel like plastic tupper ware shit for me and you dont feel much confidence in them, really felt that in the ranger, and dodge ram and others I have driven and tried out. they drive so nice on road and around town, but I just dont have the confidence in them off road and out back. Probably now have a break down in my 79 next week after that comment tho haha.

In the end the numbers don't matter as the Ford will be broken in a year whilst the cruiser will be going strong 100 years from now.

I like the F150 my only gripe about it is the low payload of 769kg. Perhaps you can tow 4.5t but you can't load it up!

I’ve owned heaps of f trucks(and Landcrusers)they are BIG tough and reliable There is a reason why they are the most sold vehicle in the world and have been for a long time 💪and price wise you pay the same for a 79 and then have to spend another $20-50k on the 79 and still not even close to the f150🤔 End of the day each to their own 🍻🍻🍻

I have a next gen raptor with bpt performance, 35s, fibre glass canopy and drawer and enerdrive system and wow it puts a smile on my face but size in the cab is a issue so looked at f150 but didnt like the leaf or how calm the car was vs a raptor with performance mods is like a bee on redbull and after 2 lines of all sorts hahah.

I am assuming the people commenting here largely have not driven an f150 or for that matter the new landcruiser. In north america ford sells literally one of these (usually higher spec) about every 30 seconds. Are they indestructible? No. Is a new toyota? Highly doubt it. Can i pull a proper trailer with it? Yes? Can i bomb a mining road with it? Yes. As fast as you dare. If you are worried about toughness get the f350 tremor. Its even diesel.

A way overpriced heap of plastic junk & LOL, it’s IFS & it has rear leaf springs, not even rear coils C’mon. Hey good-luck if people buy’m it’s ur money. But i’d much rather stick with my 04mod GU coil cab ute with the dirty old tech Japanese engineered Td42ti. Since 04 i chuck’d a 18G 23psi & it’s just clicked over 408k’s & never had 1 issue. I’d like to see the F150 last that long same with the Rams travelling all ova Oz🇦🇺 I’m sure something catastrophic will let go $$$. But that’s just my opinion.
