Why I’m NOT buying the Apple Vision Pro 🙅🏻‍♂️

Having the quest 3 I see absolutely no reason to pay 5-6 grand to get very little more than I have for 800 dollars and play no vr games

I only have the quest 2, and it’s janky as hell. Q3 is probably quite a bit better, but I’m assuming the vision pro will be way more impressive (it’d better be, at that price). I’ll probably wait for the vision pro 2 though

@@megaphatc4377 first off, passthrough sucks, but it’s not really a feature on the q2, more of a way to move to a different spot without taking it off. Resolution and overall stability left a lot to be desired. Obviously those things have been improved on for the q3, but the overall user experience, how can I put this, it felt more android than Apple, if that makes sense? Like, it works, but it lacked cohesion and smoothness. I own a lot of devices (Apple stuff, but also android devices, windows pcs etc), and while Apple certainly has flaws, smooth user experiences is something they tend to be better at than the competition, and for a device that’s supposed to alter/augment my perception of reality, that seems important to me. Also, who uses actual replaceable batteries in controllers? Just let charge them with usb c. Every time I decide I’ll use the quest again, my batteries are dead and I need to go out and buy new ones. Not very immersive. I also trust Apple more when it comes to privacy. Both Facebook and Google (Google is relevant here since they’re behind android, which the quest is based on) make most of their money from advertising, which means data. Apple did try to get into that business with iAd but failed, and while I’m certain they are also data driven in other ways, it’s still different than a company that uses what they learn about me to shove ads down my throat. This is purely instinctual and I have no proof that Facebook would collect data on me with the quest, but I really don’t trust them not to. Marky Z needs data like us humans need food and sunlight.

@@svenmify you honestly sound like a stuck up rich person. There is absolutely nothing wrong with with quest two. Yes it can be laggy at times, frame rate isn’t amazing but it’s not bad either. It’s a starter vr headset. If you’re gonna complain about spending only $200 then expect $200 quality not $5000 quality. And plus if you’re paying the price of a car for a piece of technology that goes on your head, you have way more issues to worry about than the quest using batteries in the controllers

@@7thwardddd I do happen to be rich (kinda), but only recently. Doesn’t affect the way I look at tech. Had the q2 way before, and never thought it was a good experience. It’s just very android-like, you know?

The advantages of the Vision Pro doesn't justify the absurd price tag. Yes it's better than the Quest 3 in few aspects but the price has to come down.

Very true. I did get a demo of it and thought being immersed in a photo or video was really cool. But then you have to be "immersed" in the Apple ecosystem and I ain't doing that! Plus WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!

There appears to be no marketplace for 3D apps currently either. I'm not even sure it supports VR Web apps in the browser.

Vision Pro looks high quality and OS works super smooth but yeah you are right can do exact same things like Meta Quest series and its way more way way more expensive but I don't know why I kinda want it hahaha

I have both and the AVP is worth it for those in the Apple ecosystem. The external battery is huge though. However, it’s more for productivity and entertainment than gaming like the Quest. Also, I can see my phone and watch with AVP so I don’t have to remove it to input things like passwords. Speaking of which, I rarely have to enter passwords because my Apple account recalls them. Prior to this, I rarely used my Quest Pro and don’t care for my Quest 3.

Thanks for sharing! Sounds like it’s great for those willing to pay… it will be interesting to see if it sticks long term though, or suffers the same fate as your two quests.

Nowadays everyone is talking about this new device. But it’s really expensive. Let’s imagine if my salary is 2000€ then I have to save 8 to 10 months of salary to buy this. 😂😂😂 if i multiply that amount then I can buy a nice car and also pay for my driving license fee. It is really not worth buying to spend my savings, after 1-2 years dump that gadget in to the trash, just like a old smartphone, My advice is, don’t buy it. It’s to damn expensive. They’re other devices in the market in much more cheaper price. Like meta quest 2 or meta quest 3. Which coast about 300€-750€. I’m already regretting to switch on iPhone anyway.

I think it will come to Australia by WWDC. I love mine. One good thing about the battery is that it’s much easier to plug it in while wearing as opposed to fiddling with usbc cable on quest.
