I can confirm FID customer support is nearly non existent, it's usually the case with Chinese companies. It's still a great truck, it just needs some TLC :)

I have a Vekta.5 as well! It handles much much better than my DH Voltz though that may be due to my Voltz having air in the shocks. Nothing broken yet either, though I drive it fairly safely. Make sure to use thread locker on the driveshaft- I lost parts from it twice and eventually just got the CVD conversion which has retaining rings to stop the pins from coming out. It's a great truck, though.

Mine broke in exactly the same way! The motor was loose in the rear and could move around too freely, so a minor crash put lots of force on the gearbox rather than on the rear motor support. With my replacement, I put a piece of soft plastic between the motor and the rear mount so that it's not free to move as much- hopefully that will improve the issue. With regards to the pinion gear, my grub screw fell out too. My pinion had a D-shaped hole so that it couldn't spin on the shaft when the grub screw came out, AND there was a spacer on the front and back of the gear so it couldn't slide in either direction. I'm not sure why it even needed a grub screw in there, as the gear was retained in every direction that it could move. The grub screw rattling around in there caused a lot of damage to the case.

i have the fid dragon hammer i drive it on 12 s and it is litl bit hot on long runs bashing ,however i have the same problem with the part support i could not find part. however i bought the kraken vekta 5 and the kraken kv5tt, the kraken vekta5 is much better quality and support from the fid and it is a blast to bash and drive i converted the vekta 5 to brushless max 4 560kv combo , i recommend Not to buy the kraken kv5tt it is heavy and the losi 5ive-t ( which i have it in brushless) is much better handling car, HOPE THAT I ANSWER YOUR QUSTION

My Dragon Hammer will arrive tomorrow and I will swap out the motor first. Maybe a TP5690 320kv or a 480kv, not sure yet. I really want to run 12S, i think the chassis and size could even do 16S. What do you think?

my gearbox broke on me.. now i just got to live with it with a metal glue. i broke my sway bar aswell i replce the sway bar with a thicker rod.

They sent me parts that didnt fit, so they said that there engineers are "setting up the machine" to make the correct part" for me! lol. Yeah Right!! needless to say, still no correct part and no reply to emails. Had this same issue with almost EVERY hop up i bought from them for my DBXL 2.0 GAS, Hubs/Diffs/Diff Housing/Center Brake housing/Servo Tray, everyone has issues with fitting. like i say, AVOID these cowboys, they will be all nice & chatty BEFORE the sale, to get the sale, afterwards, they dont want to know!! ...Stick with good brands, such as VITAVON for losi hopups, the difference between VITAVON hopups and FID is Night & Day!!
