I've had a clone circuit pedal for years and the one thing I've always loved about it is that just by turning it on the sound is automatically sweetened. I've always just left it on without the gain stage just for that effect. It seems to cut some of the low end but it just adds so much when I'm playing in the bedroom. I honestly didn't get the "Klon" thing with the gain stage until you get into a mix with a band and an amp running fairly hot. Then the mid boost thing really allows the guitar to cut through nicely. My take is that the Klon and all the circuits following it really, really shine in a mix with a band and an amp running hot. Your pedal sounds really great here and I'm sure many will find it useful. Have the Zeus versions of the gold and the Wildwood. The gold is bright and the Wildwood is smooth. Love them both!

I have the Zeus version that I got in 2021 at Carter Vintage when I was in Nashville and that thing is never leaving my board.

It sounds pretty good. Very much similar to the other 1000's of overdrive pedals out there.

Love this series! Great way to get to know a pedal, in sound and story. Also love the boldness of ditching the charge pump. Does that give flexibility in terms of users being able to feed it 18V for more opamp headroom, or is that still not recommended? (As a pedal builder I realize sanctioning 18V usage is often a recipe for disaster, but I’m curious anyway!)

I have two on my board- the new wildwood for its overdrive and the new gold standard mjolnir for a boost. The wildwood is brighter than my gold one - it lowers the bass and increases the high midrange - sounds amazing into a mid scooped amp.

Cool video. Cool pedal. Josh has youtube figured out, though. His channel is much more appealing because it isn't self-promotional, really. It ends up making his own products more appealing when he describes, for example, how excellent Behringer units are. JHS isn't any better than Mythos, I feel sure, but Josh's youtube game is stronger for never really being a commercial. Mason at Vertex is creating the same thing as what you have here - this is a commercial. Maybe give us more than a "here is the only overdrive you need because it is the one WE make." I suggest this with love and appreciation - nothing harsh intended! Keep on making killer stuff!

Quick question. I noticed that the Wildwood edition was also updated for 2023. How different are the two? From a circuit standpoint? I know you removed the charge pump but the 2023 Wildwood still retains it. I adore my Ikon. So which one should I get? Mjolnir or Wildwood?

It’s a good unit. Not really anything new or groundbreaking. This crusade of finding the holy grail of overdrives, to me, is a quest for an endless vocabulary and emotional expression. There is no magic bullet. Just a suit, that looks good and then, it’s time for a pair of worn sneakers and sweat pants. That new set of tires, well aligned and that day, you drove like a bat out of hell and got away with it. You get the picture. There is no one overdrive, Swiss knife pedal. Otherwise we would have stopped at the Tubescreamer- The Klon-King if Tone-Those old Boss overdrives-Xotic-so on and so on. I have at least 5 and I sold, traded and returned, over 20. This pedal, sounds like an OCD. I have one, I like it but I have other and like those too. Great playing.

I have a Mjolnir in the same enclosure as the std gold one, but its silver and it’s w/ Ge diodes w/c I ordered from your site. Why wasn’t it included in the comparison? Wanted to know how it is different from the std gold, the joey landreth, the mass street Ge and the wildwood one. Thank you.

Play it into a real amp and use multiple amps if you use a dsp might as well use a digital effect program and not a pedal. Not trying to be negative I have both and use both but honestly my pedals all sound amazing way better plugged into tube amps.

Sounds great, but the new style artwork is boring. Its like the pedals have lost your brand identity.

If you want a Strat, buy a real one.

The modifications sound good to me (9V, less treble).
