Thank you so much for these notes! I just finished my first year of paramedicine in Australia, and I use flashcards for my final exam (because i thought I was too lazy to write notes) however I got 100% on my OSCE! This video has now help me to solidify my methods and will definitely be using this for second year!! Thanks Faye🥰

By the way, Anki has an add-on which means you can import your quizlet, so it's definitely not too late to switch to anki if you think you'd prefer it! you can just move all your sets over

Im currently second year med and I make my flash cards on Anki I used to use quizlet because high key more aesthetic but for anatomy like the image occlusion on Anki is like a life saver

I am the beggining of my re-takes exams of the 1st year as a medical student . I have to retake , Anatomy of the 1st and 2nd Semester , The lectures of the Cellular Biology , The lectures of the Biochemistry and the Physiology exam . As you can see the first year didnt go as planned ... I promised myself ill try to find another way to learn , because i tried so hard but it was still insufficient . This video was so helpful and it gave me courage to start the 2nd year more organised and with more passion about medicine . Thank you Faye

when i sayyy this was SUCH a lifesaver 😭 tell me why I’ve been trying to write down every point during lectures & then end up leaving with zero knowledge on the topic. I never took notes during lessons for a levels and it worked perfectly for me... & I’m the exact same during lectures, I doze off if I’m not keeping busy 😭 gonna start your method on importing the slides into one note and then doing extras on the side. Already use Quizlet ;D its soo good! One thing I would say though is that I would like to see Quizlet improve the amount of colours and highlighter tools! I love the new learn tool though!

Yes! Active recall is the best!! I started using anki and it’s helped me so much than just writing notes

Just discovering your channel! Don’t know if it will be useful to you, but I’m a 2nd year vet student and I used one note in my first year but this year I’ve switched to good notes which is a very similar format to one note but i find so much better and easier to use! Easy to export documents too. And on good notes there’s an option to make flash cards which I also find the best way to learn (esp with anatomy) and you can put in images this way on both sides of the flash card which annoyed me that I could never do on quizlet! Just another good option for notes xxx

This was really helpful! I recently started Medicine and was realising that my note taking method was redundant. I started adapting it over the last two weeks and it’s pretty much what you said, no notes just more condensed notes and flash cards. I knew from the beginning of my course that I wanted to study with spaced repetition and active recall (thanks to Ali abdaal, just like you said) but I found it so hard to keep up with all the content so I’m now swapping over to this new method! Hope your third year is going welll thanks for the advice x

I do not take notes too. I am using Google Sheets and Quizlet for it. And it has been a lifesaver!🤓😁

i finally found a person who has the same goals as i do! Do you have any tips for learning chemistry? I have my finals that will decide about which university i can go to in 2024 (i'm from poland so it looks a little bit different than in uk, cause if you want to be a med student, after 4 years of highschool(?) you have to write matura and if you want to study medicine you have to write biology and chemistry matura for >80%

Faye I take condensed notes then use those notes and make questions on flashcards Do you think I’m wasting my time ? I also teach an imaginary class just so it sticks in my brain

Teaching is suchhhhh a good way of learning so that’s GREAT and condensing your notes is also really good!! Making notes isn’t always a waste of time it’s just for my personally find i get bored and nothing sticks. However, I do know that there is research backing up condensing notes 😊

Heyyy, I am studying Biotechnology and Food engineering and I’m in my first year , I feel as if this would be great for biology and chemistry !! Thank you for this !! Anybody here have any advice on revising physics and math, as a Quizlet does not really work for the maths based subjects since you need to calculate the problems, anybody have any advice on active recall for these subjects it would be greatly appreciated 😊 love your channel !!

super super sorry Faye- but final question, so essentially is this also the technique you used in 3rd year but obviously didn't attend lectures, so just did the lecture on 2x speed etc, used passmed, zerotofinals, osmosis & made your flashcards as you went along and used your lecture/those resources to guide you? & then, bc you put all of your quizlet onto anki, you just did your flashcards on anki during revision period (aka everything you explained in the opening ur 3rd year results video) super sorry Faye and again thank you!!! honestly you are one of the most inspiring humans ever and so grateful to see you grow and thrive on this journey! 100k soon come xxxxx
