As an owner of a digital agency , Webflow is the only way to go for me for now...Don't get me wrong , Flow still has it's own limitations vs Code Edit on CMS....I switched from WP building with Elementor page builder on Ocean WP...It gave me headaches upon headaches plus the bloat of having dragged down by elementor nclding other plugs ...Having said all of that, if it wasn't for my business, I always recommend Framer to those building for selves, friends, and family...Or even beginners of starting out small ... Great UI.... If Framer was to refine and get to a level of including exporting code , less bloated, improve on dynamics and logic, and just basically needs to be more seamless and robust

Webflow is about to add react. Case closed. I have never had a problem with the Webflow UI - as someone coming from adobe, it felt like a natural crossover, and furthermore as someone who has never learned coding - webflow has taught me the logic and heirarchy of coding, enabling me to work with developers much better than if I didn’t understand these things. Yes webflow has a little bit of a learning curve, but they also temper this by providing some of the best tutorials out there, all at nice bite size length. If you are starting out building websites, absolutely learn webflow. It will serve you much better in the long run. You will be stronger as a designer that understands code logic and can hand off clean code to developers, rather than as a designer who is reliant on a platform that tailors to you but ultimately holds you back. You will just be a designer vs a designer who is also able to be an almost complete front-end developer.

I've gotta say, I tend not to buy into these kinds of comparisons. You see, when the curtains close, it's those nifty soft skills and creative logical prowess that truly steal the show, not the hard skills reliant on specific tools. Let's zoom in on honing our core competencies rather than getting tangled up in the gadgetry of "which tool to use." I get it, these folks are churning out videos faster than popcorn at a movie premiere, but we've got to remember - they've probably got a shiny new course they're eager to sell. End of the day, it's more about the cash register ringing than genuinely educating the community. So let's keep it real, and focus on the skills that truly matter.

But framer is very limiting, I once transferred Figma designs to framer using its plugin. Then I struggle a lot to get the carausal to scroll. I finally ended up using the carausal element provided by framer. And was not able to change the position of carausal indicators (dots). That is very limiting. Almost as much as using a template. Plus it's very hard to find help on Google because there are like 3-4 products called framer and Framer X...

Reading many of the comments I don't think people know that Framer can easily be extended by writing custom React components. Framer has a built-in add-component functionality and you can use the Framer Motion library natively. No tool is perfect, I would like to see an easier way to tap your Framer CMS. This should be a capability that should have been there from day one.

well...been with wf for 6 years. Made 200+ sites :D Tried framer to see it's capabilities. If you know what are Framer limitations are, and you design in Figma using these limitations - than Framer is good. But, for professional sites with a bunch of CMS collections, full code control, custom code to extend functionalities, site speed, and scalability - Webflow is the winner. I think every web designer should know a bit of dev too because this closes the gap between the design and dev. Wish Framer could take over wf, but that's not gonna happen. Imagine when wf will release it's AI. How many sites with good practices in web dev were made with wf. It will just sunset everyone.

I looked into framer. But compared to webflow, Framer did not suit my needs. I can't remember specifically what it was, but there was one thing that was a deal killer for me. Note: I think it's their pricing scheme. Hosting is more expensive and far more limited than webflow. Even though webflow is not scaleable (having a 1:1 cost ratio) as a guy who also makes residual money on hosting, I have to keep my costs as low as possible.

i tried framer and i can see why people love it. That said, i think the Webflow is a upgrade to framer. Framer is amazing for 90% of things, webflow do 8% more and the last 2% is custom code for sure. Webflow is harder but is so capable that is almost a crime to actually do html/css/js from scratch right now. I think the framer interface is easier until you want complete freedom to move around, that will get you pissed fast. To me this is more a case-by-case scenario. Complex website to build ? Webflow or/and Dev. Simple site to build? Framer or webflow.
