Honestly, no. Especially if you take AP/honors classes, and you wanna maintain a decent GPA, working at Starbucks while doing sports and high school isn’t the best idea. High school and sports is already physically and mentally draining, Starbucks will just add onto that. I say you should wait.

it is do-able if you have grit, i did it for all of high school. Just depends on if you need work or not. If you get your stuff paid for, have a roof over your head and get fed then it’s not life or death.

Hello! It’s great that you wanna be a barista. It’s definitely a challenging job. There is a lot to memorize, a lot to deal with, and many things to keep in mind. Some tips i have is to choose your location wisely. Don’t choose a Starbucks location that is understaffed, with horrible management because that makes all the difference. Even if you don’t know much, if you’re willing to learn then your coworkers and your manager should be able to help. Unfortunately I didn’t have the best experience with that, so I’m warning you to not make the same mistake I did😭. Overall, being barista is fun, you’ll get the hang of it and it’s definitely a great job if you’re a fast learner, like fast paced environments, and overall find joy in making drinks.

Don't worry about fitting in. It's a job not high school. Get some self esteem, be yourself, and get your paycheck

Umm it really depends. However, I don’t recommend working there if you have adhd and bad social anxiety. This job contains a lot of human interaction. Unless your co workers are willing to cooperate with you, I think it’s best if you find another job that’ll better cater to your needs. There are other jobs out there that would be perfect for you! Good luck on your job search!

Terrible idea

Absolutely Terrible idea, but u need to get over that because there are almost ZERO teen jobs that require no social interaction. Ur trying to avoid social interaction, but u need to do the opposite and get more comfortable around others even if ur nervous.

Furthermore, their are very Very VERY few good adult jobs that require little to no human interaction. U need to work on that first bc u can't avoid people forever, that's really stupid.

nope, not for no reason, if you watched the video I did name multiple reasons. it’s not weak to know that what you’re being compensated for isn’t fair and to recognize that your work environment is toxic. Ever since I quit I found a great job that pays $25 an hr, I love it a lot, and most of all I’m much much happier!:)
