I've got a super helpful building tip that I want to share with you all! I recently tried designing a Minecraft build a little bit differently to how I usually would I found it incredibly useful!

Oh yeah I've tried this with a few builds and found it useful. It was really helpful for me with working out difficult shapes. I could not have made some of my studio ghibli builds without this process.

Another tip I would recommend, work big to small. Begin with the largest shapes and proportions, and don’t move on to the smaller details until later. If you get too distracted with the small details before you’ve worked out your broader shape, it can lead to a lot of time consuming revision. Front load the big picture, then work out the particular details.

This technique actually works perfectly in survival and is kind of how I work already. I'm still a novice player and don't always know where to get nice blocks or how long it might take to get them. Building something cool in an easy-to-break block like wood, allows me to plan out my buildings and paths and then create a "shopping list" of things to collect on my travels. I don't have any enchantments yet, so I'd be wasting tools and potentially destroying nice blocks (no silk touch) if I was using them while laying out the design.

Reminds me of how a lot of game development is done. I've made maps in the source engine for years now and using blank dev textures before detailing helps sooooooo much when making something that needs to be fun and functional. The details come last, and it's the most satisfying way to go abput it.

Since I've only ever built in survival really I kind use a technique like this but instead of just spruce I use the base texture blocks for each part of the build so that all you have to do later is add the extra texturing blocks to the base layer saving time.

This also help with focusing on building rather than shuffling your inventory for what single block you need. Just a single row of block types can really speed your process.

I don’t think it’d help for me usually since I often plan out builds on paper, but I’m gonna be working on a really, really huge castle for a while so it might be useful

As I said last video pl start TekTopia again it would mean the world to me. 1. it was the best series i have ever watched 2. it helped ur channel when you were small and it could have the same impact Ideas a sky village where the villagers "live in the clouds" or a futurisic village. Thankyou Marloe for this vid it helped a lot with my builds.
