I haven't done a review video on the Lotus Esprit for a while now so I thought I would give you an update on it. Not an awful lot has happened with the car since the last video on the Esprit which you can see here:

I always loved the Esprit, yours is stunning! I wish I had got to ride in one or drive one but never got the opportunity. Love the looks of it, love the sound of it...it is just an incredible car.

Great! Yes definitely keep it original it looks so great with the Oz wheels. Have you thought about ppf on the areas that take most knocks? Well done with the video Charlie 😉

Iain F thanks! Yep had a quote for PPF and it was looking like £3k for just the front end. 😅 yeah the OZ wheels are just awesome.

Hi mate, it’s a quicksilver dual exit exhaust, no silencers but standard cat.

Beautiful - Quicky question does the car always do that on start? My SE turbo did the exact same thing from cold.

Thanks! Very rarely does It struggle that much. I’ve heard the less white smoke on cold start the better!!

@@CharlieDrives Check the inlet manifold, esp if you're losing coolant at a very low rate. Sorry, it was just so reminiscent of my car I had to comment. If the stay on the plenum is missing or mal-adjusted there is a lot of stress on the casting and they can crack. The smoke was a few drops of coolant seeping into the inlet bores, you wont notice any emulsification, but you might see some sludge around the fixing bolts. Bugged me for ages.

Esprit is a great car but you can't call it raw (mine is a GT3). An Elise is raw. Good video.

I heard those Esprit's are a pain in the ass with repairs and reliability, as well as costs. Did you experience any serious problems with it? (I'm from the USA, so it could be completely different with mechanical experience over here vs UK where they're produced.)

I'm fortunate to have a mechanic who knows these cars like the back of their hand. I haven't had anything serious go wrong with the car and nothing that has left me stranded. Biggest issue I had is a radiator let go, but that could happen on any 20+ year old car.

They don't have many problems and parts are very cheap! For example a reinforced complete clutch on my 4 cilinder cost only about 260 usd and it was so simple that I placed it myself. You will never find a cheaper clutch on any car! In 4 years I had only a tps sensor failing, cost about 90 usd. My car is heavily tuned and rev limiter is set on 8500 rpm. I drive like crazy on German autobahn and no problems. Just change oil every 5000 miles and use quality 10w60 oil.

@@449Raphael You're talking about prices for a 4 cylinder, look at prices for V8 parts and then you'll see the difference. Trust me,I own one.

Jorge D when you read you can see I mention 4 cilinder. I had an SE and a Lotus Omega. Now I own a GT3 and a Speedster turbo what is in fact a better and faster Elise. The Speedster is faster and gives more fun. Absolutely bulletproof. My GT3 is a weekend car, only 68 made left hand drive.

An Esprit with a turbocharged Honda K20 engine (450 reliable horsepower) and a reliable Porsche 6 speed transmission would be a perfect exotic.

So this video is just a guy who is just showing off about having enough disposable income for buying his dream cars. Sorry to hate but you didn't really review it or anything, you just acted smug about having a nice car. Your reaction to the lady saying 'you got a bit of car love' says it all.
