I think stops are BS. They are not paid very well. I don't accept them anymore. With Uber lts hard to tell, I need to check closer before accepting them.

No shared rides. No rides with stops. No pet rides. No rides less than 1 dollar per mile. No passengers with rating less then 4.8. Dont pick up “new” riders. Dont drive in shady neighborhoods. No rides less than $10..Those are my essential rules.

@TheAbsoluteJedi I drive in Vegas and literally had 2 Brazilian guys select a CVS a block away. Which was weird because they were at a hotel that has a 24 hr CVS beside it. As soon as they get into the car they change the location from 1 block away to a Target which is about 4 miles away. I drove 1/4 of a block, flipped a U-turn in the middle of the street and dropped them back off at their original location. Also forgot to mention they pulled this b.s. during a surge. Still got paid the entire rate + surge and picked up a different passenger at same location.

When ever I accept a SINGLE trip then on my way to the TRIP they THEN add a ride after I accepted the trip: I HIT CANCEL. Because it’s unfair to the driver because we HAVE NO CLUE as to where the 2nd stop is. They need to stop this.

Nowdays on Uber, they won't even notify you that theres a midstop on these shorter trips. These clowns will always find ways to screw drivers. This is clearly to trick drivers into thinking the short trip is a good trip.

You beat me to it. Was literally going to type the same EXACT thing. The moment they change, I pull over and cancel immediately. We had a contract. The customer broke the contract. And no telling where the hell we are going. Nah. I'm good on that. I don't care if I drove 10min towards them and they change on minute 9. It gets cancelled.

lol. I dnt pull over, as soon as it changes, I hit cancel. Oh AND if they add a trip when they get in the car without asking me first, I will take them back to where I got them from.. then I will cancel the trip at that point. I don’t care if they give me a one star or not and I have told them that that’s unfair to the drivers.

Yep! I did exactly that and Lyft sent me a "Poor rider experience" email. It was around 10pm so I was like, "hell no." I agreed to the original destination. I don't know where else we're going in the dark, so...safety first!!

The problem with stops is time. The current pay model of both uber & lyft does not pay drivers appropriately for the amount of time wasted. The solution is simple. And it wouldn't cost uber or lyft a single dime. Charge riders $1 per minute at stops. Starting immediately, ZERO "grace" period. Pay 100% of that wait-time fee to the driver. Same for wait time at pickup. At pickup 1 minute "grace" period then $1 per minute. Charged to rider, ALL of it paid to driver. No cost to uber or lyft. Optional for rider, just be ready on time. Driver won't mind waiting.

Exactly. All rides (UberX, UberPet, UberXShare, UberXL) should all be 2min wait. After 2mins expired, driver can cancel or wait the additional time for extra $1 per minute, charged from the rider. If Uber and Lyft put that in place as you state, riders would be toes to the curb

I never ever accept a ride that has a stop, and I don't accept a request from the rider to add a stop and if he/ she add it anyways I end the trip on the first stop, but the other day a real gentleman asked me to stop at a gas station to get a bottle of water, I asked him to add a stop, he did and after I completed the trip Lyft payed me 40 cents for and added 5 minutes stop. Driving isn't my profession I drive for fun or to just get out and I believe only a person who doesn't have any self respect would work for these crooks on their terms. Lyft is a piece of garbage, it always been.

100% right. I love when you accept a one way, and before you get to the pick up, they add a stop. Nope, instant cancel. At that point you don't know if the destination is still the same, and Uber doesn't show the correct new upfront fare. Also, when passengers turn the one way into a round trip, we get minimal extra money, but the miles double and the time triples. Nope. Trip is going to end at that stop. Sorry.

I have the same issue with passengers changing the destination after the trip has started which is like taking two trips and you get minimal if no additional fare though it takes you longer.

ABSOLUTELY !! HERE IN DC AREA THEY GO SHOPPING IN THE DOLLAR STORE. I REFUSE ALL MULTI STOPS. RIDERS ADD STOPS ONCE I EXCEPT ON THE WAY TO THEM, BOOM I CANCEL ALL OF THEM. IF THEY ADD A DOLLAR A MINUTE FOR STOPS, I WILL EXCEPT THEM AND RIDERS WILL HURRY UP.

Very true! Brought a guy once to his mothers house during surge, he was bitching the whole way the high amount he was being charged to his mother. He was telling his mother to be FAST because during surge, I do notice that the stops add more $$. Same with another guy, his original trip was $18, and this guy's mother's house was 2min around the corner from his apartment. When he added the stop, since it was surging, it jumped from $18 to $32 or something. I was like, "Dang." I told him to be quick because its a high demand and you can't hold up the Uber from picking up other ppl

Also Joe I use Sergio's trick. Once I accept a ride I stop request or make last ride and the passenger is not able to add a stop.

@@TheGreatForgetter Trust me it works in Massachusetts well and I play ignorant when the customer tries to add a stop but the app won't let them. I have a life and when they add a stop or change edit the trip it affect my plans if I allow the changes they want

Agree completely. I had one lady request a ride that showed up as a 1 min ride (during busy morning rush) I accepted. As soon as I picked her up she added a return stop. She wanted me to take her across the street to the grocery store, wait for her to shop, take her back across the street. Uber so no way to cancel. It ended up being a 20 min ride and I was so pissed off at the disrespect from both the rider and Uber that I had to go home and cool off for about 2 weeks before driving again. Totally unacceptable how riders and Uber treats stops. If they want a personal driver make them pay. Charge them 50 cents a min and it won't be a problem. They'll be out quickly (and I'll wait for $30/hr.)

@@Tuck_Frump I was just about to say the same thing. Just end the trip. Had someone do that to me, first and last time ever. When another person tried to pull the same thing, I turned around and said, "You know, Stop and Shop does home deliveries now and curbside. Order your stuff on the app, order the Uber to come to the curbside, the employee will load the groceries in the trunk, and then you can be dropped back home." They thanked me for the advice. I told them about how drivers are paid to wait in the same fashion as taxi's, so I what I'm going to do is match you with another driver after I drop you off. I told them that I get it, I've ordered an Uber after shopping, worrying that my frozen items will melt, etc., but you can't hold up the driver at a grocery store, it doesn't matter if you think your going to be "quick"

Drivers take a screenshot of every upfront trip request. When you get pax that changes the request after you accept it, and add a stop. You will notice the upfront fare does not increase. You then take another photo of the new route with the stop and unchanged fair. Drivers start pumping those pics to social media outlets outside of this one and then change comes later because the driver is being short changed by the pax and the companies. You can end the ride or cancel because when you accepted the trip on certain criteria that criteria has now changed.

In my experience, the upfront fare won't increase if the stop is already along the current route. It becomes as if you're just pulling off the side of the road and stoping for two minutes or being stuck in traffic.

The passengers are paying for the changes, asked them and they will tell you how much extra their price changes from. Uber is taking advantage of this, as they've been trying to take every possible advantage of the drivers since they brought out upfront fares implementing all types of low-ball tactics and tricks in the algorithm. They probably won't change multi-stops, adding stops and changing destination or even X share because they love hidden transparency ( clearly now turn into the devil)

Very true and agree 100%. Problem with the screenshot is that if its Uber, you often don't have a chance to do it. Lyft shows everything. If a pax adds a stop, you see the increased fare. I will start screenshotting. I mostly focus on Eats deliveries, but I have pax turned on. I made more money earlier this evening in a short span than in a long time. I only got deliveries, and 1 or 2 pax requests that I declined and it was surging all night. I'm guessing the delivery drivers were staying home. Plus I think it was partly due to weather, 22 degrees out I screenshot all rides anyways for my dashcam because I label every trip with the pax name, but I will screesnhot if they add a stop. I rarely get ppl add a stop because I send an automated message thst says "No deviations from original drop off destination. No stops added after matched to another driver." Only rarely do I get people cancel on me because I send the automated message from my notes, but when they do cancel because of it, I wouldn't want them in the car anyways

I tell them the same thing. I already have a next rider. I have a sign in the car that I will not stop. And yet they still ask to stop. I sometimes tell them im willing to stop and end the ride and they will have to call another uber to get to final destination. They (customer and uber) dont give a shyt about our time. Its flat out disrespectful as hell.

I’ve stopped doing rides w stops…and anything else under $5-6 …. Anybody who adds a stop after pick up is blocked from any future rides I have had people tip me and ask if we could stop…. And that’s fine

Joe, you make great points here, and I hope the message gets to Lyft/Uber about it. Different/better pricing for multiple stop trips, strictly not allowing stops to be added after independent contractor has accepted the assignment, and/or especially after the ride has started!

The thing I hate is when I pick a job based on the fair, it’s going to compensate me for my time, and after the rider gets in the car, he changes it to a short distance trip, therefore I’m not getting the ride I thought I was getting.

Well, that's an instant cancel. They do that on purpose because in your market, it seems many drivers prefer far trips and avoid the short distance ones. Tell the pax that you accepted the trip based on where they were going. This girl pax did that to me several months ago, I pulled over and told her to change it back. I said I'm happy to leave you back on the side of the road, but the destination that you put is exactly where I'm going, it's why I accepted it. She changed it back and I dropped her off for $28 going 10mins up the street. When she changed the trip, it was $28 reduced to $6. Nice try, gurl. Nice try.

You’re 💯 percent right. I don’t grab rides with stops but the one day the lady asked to do a couple stops and me trying to be nice and do the whole good customer service thing did the two stops. I spent 45 minutes arguing with customer service to get paid and the rep kept telling me that I got paid right which was the original upfront fair until I told them to break the ride down and tell me how much I got paid per stop and they finally agreed to pay me for them but they made it look as if it was a favor “this is a one time courtesy payment”. So no more stops or ride with stops for me and I tell the people, Uber charges you (the lady showed me they charge her for the stops) but refuses to pay me.

I've had a few cases where someone will get in the car and then add a stop I find that to be so manipulative and disrespectful, that I will play along. And when they get out of the car. I end the ride there and leave

Yes I feel the same. I have been taking them but I think I am going to stop taking these. I have noticed I am getting more and more multiple stop trips where I am taking a parent and their children to 2 or more schools... Do you have any idea how long of a wait you end up waiting on school car drop off lines? It's ridiculous. I have been 1 starring the people who do this because I don't believe Uber is the way to get one's children to school. They either need to get a car of their own or put their children in the bus.

NEVER wait in a school drop off or pick up line. Just end the ride. Be direct with the rider. "Sorry, uber/lyft does not pay us enough to wait in lines, I'm going to have to end the ride here." End it and have them exit your vehicle.

Very true. I dropped off two kids the other month during the morning snowy day rush hour. The mom tipped me $15 because she was stuck at home and she doesn't drive in the snow. Very rare for parents to tip, it's typically not like that. She admitted on the speaker of her son's phone that she doesn't like driving in the snow lol! EDIT: Oh, and the elementary school was a 4min drive and the trip was already surged due to the snow, so the first trip was $25 something. Sweet to drop someone off 4mins up the street for over $40

Riders would trying to ask the driver to stop while in the car. I tell them to enter it in the app. They pretend like they don't know how to add it because they have to pay more. I follow the GPS if they refuse to add the stop in the app

Same LOL! this one guy tried to pretend, then when I pulled over to wait for him to add it, Uber is sending me message after message wondering why I'm stopped. I show him the app, Uber wondering why I'm stopped. So do you want to go home? Because I pulled over, his trip surged to $42 from the original price. He trying to save money by not adding the stop, now he pay more. It was thanksgiving eve btw and his house was 5mins up the street. HE was the reason I now have a dashcam because he tried to get a free fare (which failed) by claiming that I was driving inattentively. Uber knows, they didn't take his bait, and he was kicked out of the car 2mins from his house in 15 degree weather due to his behavior.

When I was a newbie did a few rides with stops. Never again. One time picked a woman up at her house, brought her to the grocery store. To her credit she was in and out in 2 minutes. Returned her back to her house. My earnings: $4.22.

I had a ride yesterday with a pregnant lady who requested a stop. I picked her up at a grocery store and loaded all her groceries in my car (cases of water bottles and soda) we went to walgreens as her first stop and she spent 15 minutes in the store and I couldn't leave because all of her groceries. I then dropped her off at her final destination and carried all her groceries up the stairs only for her not to tip me. $12 for 35 minutes.

Tell all pax who do this that there's InstaCart to deliver, and UberEats and DoorDash do Walgreens delvieries. I delivered someone's two 24-pack of water and hazelnut chocolate bonsbons for $37 the other day, a 7min drive from Walgreens - this was UberEats. Then I delivered someone's Pregnancy Test for $36 and she tipped me $6 cash. I love late night Shop and Pays LOL! They surge like crazy because drivers hate them.

I agree it should be paying double because you’re doing two trips in one. Plus it should pay at least a dollar a minute immediately for standby time at the stop.

i don't accept fares with stops because people want to go into family dollar and shop. If you leave they will file a fraudulent complaint. There needs to be a $5 minimum charge per stop. I have been burned too many times by people doing drug deals and other nonsense. I immediately decline rides with stops.

Had one today and complained and they said, “we’re sorry to hear that. Did you finish the ride at least?” That response I got was a joke. Almost threw the phone at my tv but had give myself a few minutes. And the dealer I reported on Uber, guess what, I somehow matched up with him on Lyft. These gig companies know most their customers are slingers but won’t say anything about it.

Dashcam - - will save false reports. Before my dashcam, I rarely got reports (just disgruntled ppl trying to think of something), but since the dashcam, my rating has been solid and no one issues except a father trying to bring his 2yo without a carseat (going to upload that video soon, it was from Christmas Day)

@@HarringJess someone in my facebook group said that a disgruntled passenger got mad and reported him to Uber for waiving a gun in the air. Dude was like, I don't even own a gun. He has a dash cam and offered footage to uber. Uber didn't care, never reviewed the footage, and he is still deactivated with zero evidence. This is why you never take a trip with stops.

AMEN! I often refuse stops for the exact same reason - the trip needs to reflect the same amount to and from if its a roundtrip. I only accept stops if it's a short distance and the trip is surged high. I dropped these two college pax off in which one was going to the dorm and the other was going to class. But because I knew that part of Boston, both stops were literally across from each other. It was $22 for a 5min drive, otherwise I avoid stops. I mostly avoid the ones on Uber because it doesn't show you where your going. But on Lyft, I'll accept it if its high enough for the suggested short miles. Once I've accepted, I'll view where the two stops are and cancel if too far off. Uber needs to add the option to view all destination stops so that we can view similar to Lyft.

Had a pickup at the airport this week as I was on the passenger added a stop for another $2 dollars , I immediately cancelled it!! Another one was a $4.00 ride with multiple stops. I don’t take them either even if no stops, I’m not doing $3, $4, $6 runs, specially when there’s a surge technically worth more than the ride, but the pay is only $4, so I’m driving for free?!

AMEN! I don't accept anything below $10 per ride, pax and Eats delivery (although Shop and Pays must be $20 or more depending on number of items and type of items)

I avoid stops.. When a stop is added , after I've accepted the ride, I cancel the ride. If a rider takes too long, at a stop, I end the ride and leave them. If you decline or cancel a ride, it adversely affects you acceptance rate, and the algorithm will stop send you rides.

How many times have we heard "Oh, I think I put in the wrong address/restaurant, etc." They then want to change it to some place in Timbuktu. Now, I verify the address with the pax before moving my car.

You should always verify the address, however. Sometimes they do legit add the wrong one. This girl gave me $20 cash tip when she realized she put the wrong address (very rare). She was from out of state, and there were 3 locations. The amount didn't change and the destination didn't either, so it was the same mileage. She was embarrassed because she thought I would cancel her, but in that instance it was a simple fix. I did ask where the restaurant was located before she changed it. I told her that I stay in a particular surrounding area when its busy, so if someone is trying go far away, I avoid it. It really depends on where the person is going and the vicinity. Very important to know your town and surrounding area for this particular reason

Easy solution that I've been using on almost every trip over the past year or so (about 600 trips): "FYI: I'm unwilling to accommodate trip changes like a further drop off or any more stops, unless you entered before requesting ride. This is a direct result of how little Uber pays me for these changes after I start heading to you. Thanks for understanding. If it's possible that you'd want changes like those, please cancel this request ASAP to avoid fees and request your trip again with the actual drop off or stops."

I absolutely agree. Some times when I am near ucsd a rider will order an XL ride and my car turns into a school bus ride with multiple stops. College students are tricky

I did the best UberXL dropped off 7 college kids, all friends. It was $75 and all 7 of them lived 2mins from eachother LOL! This was when I had a Honda Pilot (can fit 3 in the back and 3 in the middle). It was already surged due to Saturday back then. Other than that, I only accept XL when it's going to airport because I know its luggage. I also call all XL rides the last few years. I ask how many people. I remind them its only 1 destination. I no longer pick up more than 5 people on an XL, it has to be 4 or less. Too many of them shouting over one another, all trying to talk at the same time.

They could fix it by simply paying $.50/min (charged to the rider) after two minutes at stops. They should do this for waiting at pickup as well.

Sometimes they add stop while on the trip, then they give you 1 star if you say anything. Changing directions sometimes pay you less than what was offered upfront even if it is one block the distance difference, you are vulnerable and taken advantage of with adding stops and changes. Passenger maybe charged $6 extra for these stops and changes and you might get less than $1

Create an automated message in your notes that you send to everyone. "No deviations from original destination. No stops added. Please add stops BEFORE requesting your Uber" - - this has turned into a few cancellations from pax because they probably know what they're going to do but has also decreased people trying to pull that crap

In Nashville, cabs can charge 90 cents a MINUTE, compare that to the pittance Uber pays for waiting time while passengers go into a store for a stop (usually for beer or liquor).

All great points! Trips with stops should pay substantially more and passengers should value the drivers time which most don’t. If I’m a passenger and I add a stop afterwards I am definitely compensating the driver accordingly having been a driver.

IMHO, The initial INTENT of Stops was a worthy goal. Picking up four guys going to a Sports Bar to watch a game, returning them home safely after the game... Taking two couples to a party, then taking them home safely afterwards keeps Drinkers off the road. That kept my neighbors safe from drunk drivers. Those stops could be done in 2 to 3 minutes. Had the Rideshare companies backed Drivers and enforced the guidelines, our roads would be safer and Drivers wouldn't have complaints about Riders running errands, and people going shopping, with no thought to Drivers time and income. PAY THE DRIVER for extra service is not a difficult concept, however sadly, Rideshare companies no longer promote Rideshare costs versus DUI costs to explain what the Rider is actually paying for...

Exactly! Plus, Uber advertises adding multiple stops in the rider app 🙄 - - They're like, "Add as many stops long the way! Need to get your dry cleaning?" This is Uber's fault for pushing this in the pax faces

Passengers do know this, that we dont like stops. So I have seen them adding in after I accept and am headed towards them. I was looking at the rider app just yesterday and noticed that they can add up to 5 stops. This is maddening! I had a couple of guys last night as me to wait outside walmart. I told them when you go into walmart you are entering a zoo, you may not find what you are looking for so have to search around, and there could be long lines. I told them they pay by the minute for me to wait and it would be best for them to get another ride.. so they agreed.. ugh!

If you suspect a rider might add stops, there’s a trick to preventing this. Once rider is picked up and trip starts, also press’s the red button at the bottom of the app. The same button to pause ride offers. This prevent rides from being added…but don’t forget to unpause at destination

I’ve been a weekend driver since 2018 in central CA (not LA or SF). I generally don’t accept rides with stops, and the first words out of my mouth when a drunk passenger wants to audible a stop at fast food is a firm “no”. However, sometimes you can parlay an unplanned stop at a convenience store or a stop along the way to drop a 2nd passenger off into a sweet tip. Case in point, last Sat night, did both the unplanned C-store stop AND a buddy drop off on the same ride. Dude tipped me $46 in cash and $4 on the app for a $4 ride. And yeah, I had another rider in the queue, but who cares? With these BS rates we are paid, which are well under the CA prop 22 wages, I have zero problem pissing off the next guy in line to chase even a middle-of-the-road tip, as that’s the only way to goose income above the prop 22 ceiling that Lyft & Uber have gotten soooo good at paying every two weeks. Used to be the prop 22 was a floor, not the best you could ever hope to make. But here we are - if it’s so bad, get out, stop driving and leave the driving to those of us that stick around. We don’t need all you rookies out on the road anyway!

I accepted a ride where Lyft charged the rider $10.80. Adjusted the fare down on me after I started the trip to $4.02. The rider added a stop when I drove up to pick her up. Lyft charged her $1.75 to add the stop. Paid me .05 for the stop.

Sometimes the passenger will offer a complimentary snack, meal, or a cash tip. I have also gotten extra money when I've had two passengers in the same group going to two different destinations. I would just ask them them to add a stop. Most of the time it was only a couple of miles out of the way, but depending on the time of night, the fee made it worth it to me. But I understand sometimes passengers can take advantage of a situation.

Stops are a never ending cat and mouse game. And now I see that a lot of riders are even getting smarter about it. For instance I have picked up a few riders with a stop, where in all cases it was a woman with children dropping off kids at school or a day care center, before they head off to work. But what they do now is make the stop down the road or a road around the corner. They'll tell me they can't set the drop off to the school but cn you take them there. The reason they do this is to avoid the wait fees. We as drivers should be able to pin the correct location so both the driver and rideshare company can get paid. But I agree 100% that there needs to be a much stronger policy in effect for stops. The other thing I have found is people setting up a short trip and then when they get in the car its " oh I made a mistake I need to change my stop" which turns out to be 30 miles longer. I just drop them back off where I picked them up and say thats not what I signed up for. Don't have time for that trip because I have irritable bowel syndrome and I'll need to go soon. . Sorry but make sure you put in the right location so you find the right match. I know that it has probably affected my rating but I'm not driving 30 miles out of my way for less than ideal wages at 1:30 at night. Surprisingly the irritable bowel excuse doesn't get a lot of pissed off riders, LOL.. Use it when you need it..

Lyft trips are adjusted for wait time....after trip ends. If "stops" should be reduced to 3 min wait.. Then pickup WAIT TIME most definitely needs to be reduced to 2-3 minutes. Pax are given ETA when trip is booked, then given 2 minute notification. THEN get notification when driver arrives. If pax not ready and waiting with all notifications, including being in the lobby, NOT ELEVATOR, from their 28th floor, then we should not have to wait. Deb

If a rider ask me to stop I will and the reason why I do is because I report to Uber and supply the address of the stop and Uber will update the ride the average adjusted payment is and additional $13

I'm feeling really lucky right now to drive in a market (Washington state) that doesn't have upfront fares. We still have set rates, so I don't mind taking trips with stops since I get paid for every minute the rider makes me wait. Lyft even pays extra per minute for stops, which should be the standard everywhere for both apps.

Yes!! I feel the same as you, I hate rides with stops and don't take them. Every now and then I don't notice that it has stops and accept it by mistake. If the fare is decent, I'll go ahead and take it, if not, I cancel. This is one of many issues that increase the cancellation rate. Sometimes the passenger didn't include it in the original request and ask me directly if I could stop. I explain that I can't and sometimes they offer a generous tip if I do. If the tip isn't cash, I don't accept! As you've stated, these requests need to be priced better as they are essentially two rides, and the driver is being cheated out of additional funds. I also often (sometimes I forget) will go offline after picking up a passenger so they can't add an additional stop.

That's probably why my pax from thanksgiving eve kept complaining that he was having a hard time adding it LOL! I told him drivers hate bringing pax through the drive-though, just order UberEats. I told him how I dropped a pax off from work earlier in the evening, and then two hours later I'm delivering his McDonalds LOL! He didn't deviate and ask me to bring him to McD's, he got it delivered. EDIT I will say that because of DoorDash and UberEats, the drive thru requests have significantly dropped. There were so many of these in my beginning days of Uber 7yrs ago

never do i take stop rides...however, if that stop is going to a local place that offers a kickback....that ill do. ive had a few passengers that ask if i can stop at a 711, if its not busy ill stop and they always offer to buy me something. but if they add a stop during the trip, i politely tell them I do not get paid by uber....sometimes they offer cash to do it...then ill do it. but not gonna do it for free. in vegas we get a lot of people that want us to sit and wait, but we cant wait in many areas.

In many cities, you can hire an Uber driver by the hour. If someone wants a personal chauffeur that will make stops for them, they should choose that option.

Lots of abuses of our time by uber, by passengers. Often asked for stops outside of the ap. Often get stops added midstream. Often get two people climbing on a one person shared ride. Often long waits at stops. "I just need to pick up my check" then two bags for the trunk. Riders often know that they are pulling something and smile about it even. I let it go. As weird as it sounds, me being willing to do it puts me on the top of it. "You think you pulled sometching on me. I'm solider as a result. You're in some moral debt"

I don't mind accommodating the rider if they are polite and offer to tip accordingly. I make a lot of cash tips this way and often they'll also tip me in the app as well. And I helped a person out.

I agree. Stops should be priced better... up front. Riders should not be allowed to add a stop once the trip has been accepted. One rider was passive aggressive because I wouldn't make a stop for her off app. She wanted me to stop but she "didn't want to pay for it". She actually said that. The nerve of some of these riders!!! But you know what, if she wasn't so creepy to begin with I probably would have made the stop for her because Lyft charges riders way too much extra to add a stop (and not much or none of that extra fare goes to the driver).

If you want some migraine accept a trip with stops,especially the ones around the time when going to school or leaving school,mostly parents with a bunch of kids and four child sits and …….. pay us inconvenience fee of ten dollars for any ride with stops then I can manage a few headaches .

We should be paid for rides that cancel after we start our descent to pick them up, the other day I did a u turn in taffic drove a mile in more traffic then while I got close to the destination they canceled and Lyft didn’t want to pay me stating that I didn’t arrive at the location with timer but they still waisted my time

You are right ! Stop no stop surge, rips etc etc whatever shenanigans they play. the pay is set by these companies on the hourly rate they decide. They make you drive the extra miles for tax deductions if you see what I am saying. They will barely give you a trip next to you, it’s always miles away. I agree stop taking stops and shared rides. I have seen when a stop is added now you don’t even get extra unless it has a considerable distance. And longer distance stops are many at times not even shown on the map. Time and mile shaving also has gotten out of hand. All their times are fraudulent both drop off and pick up. Drivers will also notice wrong maps as they are misrepresented visually to seem shorter so the driver picks the ride. Then they go into blackmailing you with suspension and deactivation.

They give the customer 5mins on lyft. Drivers are not responsible for the customers' belongings. I always rate 3 or lower on any stop that goes over the 5mins. I agree. Stops have issues. I do my best to ensure they never get me accepting one with. They need to add a better understanding to the passengers that drivers do not have to accept any changes to the contract we agreed to.

Yeah if I see a stop I don’t take it. Especially the ones near highways where the trip is like a total of 5 miles or less because u know it’s a person at a hotel wanting a ride to the 7 eleven and back to his hotel room. People ask me to stop at a fast food and I tell them I will if there are no cars in the drive thru just to work a bigger tip and if they don’t have attitude.

I hate a pos passenger that requested an airport ride. She got in and I noticed no baggage. She then updated to a local bank. I waited for 10 minutes, the customer came back out and said she was going back to the office. Refused to update the trip and scammed a ride. I was fucking fuming. Lyft customer service just said that they’ll unmatched the customer 😡

I just end the ride. 90 percent of the time they add a stop during the ride. If they do that after i drop them off I immediately end the ride and drive off. I'm not using 10 minutes of my time for zero dollars.

A huge problem I have is wait time when picking up is never accurate within the app. For instance I waited 6 1/2 minutes and the app stated I waited only 1 minute and 11 seconds. They refuse to correct it every time.

This might be a bit off topic but while I don't like rides with stops, I'll do them (sometimes outside the official "Add a Stop") if the rider is respectful and they establish good rapport. I put myself in their position and think of what they're trying to accomplish. They're without a car and they need to get this done, and that done...I understand. But it's harder to think that way now because the pay from Uber and Lyft is sh!t.

I took a ride a couple weeks ago that had a stop. The passenger went to the drug store was in there 25 minutes and uber gave me gave me $3.80 for my time. I will never take rides with stops again.

I never take multi stop rides there automatically declined because they are trash rides. Unless Uber wants to start charging a dollar a minute. That way if the person says they're going in for cigarettes and they decide to make a grocery trip out of it, I'm going to get paid for it!🤬

If a rider adds a stop begore I get to them, it's an automatic cancel. If a rider adds a stop after getting in my car, I say nothing and at the end, give them 3 stars and "unmatch" myself from that rider. They will never get me as their driver again!!! It hurts my pay and I didn't consent to it ... very rude of the pax!

The fair thing is pay me .35 cent a min after 3 min. As it is now I can keep 20 a hour plus fare if I am moving. I am making .35 a min. If I am idling that what I should be paid. Charge pax .50 a min and I bet they shake a leg. As of now I losing money waiting.
