One year at summer camp I signed up for archery, canoeing, and drama. They didn't have baking. It was the 1980s, people asked if I was gay when they heard I signed up for Drama. I was the only guy with 30 chicks. It sucked I had to participate in a play at the end of it all, but the 2 weeks leading up to it were alright. A woman teacher ran the class, and I think she was conspiring with the girls, she had me play a cop and my scene was I arrested a few of the girls, pat down search and arrested them. First time I patted them down lightly. The teacher said, "That's not how cops search you, search them good." So I did. We had to practice that for 2 weeks to get ready for the show.

His 'while its still legal' set is still the best, haven't heard him do the funny little hat skit in any other set, plus a few others, like the door bit lol. I hear people say the audience is sometimes crap or the audience doesn't deserve him but, Steve himself said he'd rather do a set where theres hardly anyone in the crowd that KNOWS. Cause whats the point playing for a bunch of people who KNOW when the whole point is trying to wake people up in the first place! U only need one good set Steve and you've already done it! Thanks for that man, helped alot!!

It's so strange, the pressure put on comedians. It's absurd. I mean really, think about it. Would you expect a band to play a different set of completely new songs for every single show of every single tour? Bands would have to have literally thousands of songs. But they don't. They usually have a single set list, of mostly famous, accessible hits, that they play throughout the whole tour, with MAYBE a very slight deviation from time to time. Then they do another album, add a few songs from it to the set, and the rest is the same as before. But not comedians. No no. Comedians must have all new jokes for every single show. Search your favorite band and watch all of their lives performances and you'll start to have the same feelings. Doesn't make them any less talented. Why put this pressure on comedians to write millions of jokes so every gig is different?

Haut Strange jokes often rely on the unexpected to be funny. Once you know the punchline it just isn't as funny. Music doesn't have that. People can listen to a song 50 times and want to here it another 50. But there's a reason people say "stop me if you've heard this one before." I agree it's unfair but it is what it is.

Louis CK used to have trouble with this, but he took inspiration from Carlin who was constantly writing and throwing out the old material. It can be done, but it ain't easy.
