I loved my experience with IIN and it’s 100% what it needs to be. It’s a certification. I paid way more for a college degree that I never used and I’m not complaining that my college didnt help me find a job. Education is education it’s on you to apply it and get paid for it. No one’s gonna hand you a successful business.

Although, to be fair, I’m a college professor who works with doctoral students, and I hear these same worries from students who have just completed 14 YEARS of study and professional training. 😅 There are the rare undergrads, grads, and doctors who feel confident at the end of program when beginning their independent career, but I think everyone “expects more” from programs than they “get.” I certainly felt this way at the time that I became a doctor, but it just took me a little time in practice to realize I had internalized an idea that I was a “consumer” of education, as if it was some kind of “service” I “purchased.” Of course, education is a way of knowing yourself better, and that brings up both your personal strengths and ALLLLLL of your deepest anxieties about your own capacities. There’s no program in the world that can really address that; only engaging in your practice can, but it takes time for the average person to really feel herself in the world boldly. And many people need mentors to help them see this, which is why people like you and me have jobs. 😅 I’m a mentor, too, but just slightly more focused on purpose and lifestyle than business per se (because that’s my training & practice area, not because business isn’t important, too). But anyway, I think these responses are very natural, AND worries about the program create opportunities for us to locate the natural worries we are carrying, so that we can undertake some compassionate self-inquiry and heal those. ❤

I passed the IIN course in 2009 and found it nothing more than an expansion on a Tony Robbins weekend. Meet with a dietician or any graduate with a nutritional degree and prepared to be levelled in conversation. IIN is a cheerleading course in self-confidence to network with others to discuss vaguely how they eat. When you realise one can learn more during 1 semester in a Nutritional 101 class at a Community College, you question if IIN is a White Woman Cult. Yeah, I met Deepak Chopra, David Wolf, Scorsese's ex-wife Julia, and other speakers who were overpaid to be there, and guess what, it was embarrassing. IIN is a wasted experience to anyone who values science and is not a serious individual. IIN is a fun experience. However if you value entertainment over education and respect of peers, IIN is for you.

I recommend reading Stephanie Power’s book Thyroid First Aid Kit if you are going for their approach. I read her book before joining their program, she is who I referred to when they asked who told me about them. She covers their process in depth in a couple hours and $20 rather than $3+k

Practicing coaching comes from practicing coaching! Yes they only give you 6 coaching circles which are with your classmates and a mentor, but they recommend doing 2 health histories per week- this makes you really good at them if you are willing to hold yourself accountable and actually put in the work. Responsibility is yours, the program can't make you a great coach unless you want to be!

Basically with the program you will still have to continue learning. Take the certs & continue learning as you go. When you go to a for year college you invest in a lot more money into that & still graduate w/ not a lot of knowledge, then go into a different path. Owing $30k plus for student loans

Wow. I’m currently enrolled in Andrea Nakayama’s program; Functional Nutrition Lab, and it’s A-mazing. It also includes a 2nd year in the program free. And lifetime access to the main message hub. There’s a lot of students enrolled that are IIN grads. IIN was a bit of a turnoff to me. I did a ton of research before choosing a program. But I’m also transitioning from a 20 year career in allied health as a dental hygienist. But I definitely subscribed to your channel! Thanks!

It’s true what everyone said. I did this program 10 years ago and when finished I did not feel qualified to be a health coach. The information you learn is so broad and general. The only reason to do it is to be able to say you are “certified”. I had a friend who also went through the program and she quit being a health coach after one year because she wasn’t making enough money. I never even got started working as a health coach but now looking to get started a decade later. I would say it wasn’t worth the investment.

As an IIN graduate I have to agree. I LOVE the holistic approach...But the program boils down to this: Advertising: we educate you, certify you & help you get clients and start your SUCCESSFUL business ( you’ll probably make your investment back BEFORE you even graduate) Gets inside* 1. Let us give you ALLL of this information (never going too deep on any one theory) 2. But you really don’t need to know all this bc coaching is simple: you just sit there and let them talk and ask “what else, go deeper” to keep them talking. Then just give them a few lifestyle changes to make. 3. I know we said we’d help you start your business & find clients but really we meant we’ll give you a less than ideal website, program agreement templates & tell you to JUST GO OUT THERE. LOL 😂 I may be a salty graduate but for real I thought I was alone in the whole feeling of false advertising. Bottom line - you’ll for sure need a business coach to actually get your biz up and going effectively & efficiently. 😁🙌🏻

I am so glad I started researching and reading reviews. I signed up pretty fast as the admissions girl made it seem like I would never get the $49 down 0% interest ever again. I was support to start 1/23, I am an RN so I expect A LOT. it seems like they don't really narrow down on a topic and I don't want to watch outdated videos from 2012-2015. so much has changed in the healthcare space. what a shame they are just making money off very outdated topics - I am going to cancel and realized I almost just signed up for $200 a mo for 3 years for barely anything!

I am a health coach with IIN some of what is said here is true. But some information is not really on point. IIN tells you that you have to do some research on yourself. It is a lot of the health coach to enhance and upscale their own business. I personally took the program and did my own research as well! I have KZfaq and I have done research past what IIN provides because I love to be well informed. We have to take our business in our own hands. They give you the basics and that’s about it but this is no different from any other program I have researched. I love your video and thoughts and I will check out your program for additional success training.

Based on the information I saw, read, and reviewed from IIN, the cost was due to all of the Wellness 'Guru's' that you would be learning from. I still don't understand what benefit I would have gleaned from listening to lectures from Dr. Oz (cardiac surgeon & promoter) on how to guide clients to healthier eating and health. Purchased PN1, which was pretty good, but didn't see where I would have been competent to help others. Currently studying with NCI which has a mentor program once you finish & passed your course. Now to actually finish it.

A lot of this sounds like a consumer problem. Before you even pay $7,000 for a program you should already have goals and a crystal-clear vison for your actual business/ career goals. IIN, or any other program, is just used as education to make you official, like college. It's not meant to 100% hand hold you.

I see high success rates on both timelines, my general recommendation is that they overlap simply to apply your certification knowledge to your program creation process while it's fresh and to keep you from feeling behind one you're certified! That overlap really pushes coaches to take action and succeed within their certification!

People forget that IIN isn't a college education. Nevertheless it offers you a lot for the Money you invest. At the End if you will have to get specialized in one topic and invest more time in education. I graduated from INN in 2016. I was not at all prepared to begin my own business in health coaching solely from the curriculum. INN also offered further business resources, yet after forking out nearly $3k? was it? I had already invested in the program with the assumption that I would be able to begin my own practice after completion of the original health coach certification program. They also offer further preparation for the NBHWC (which the original program doesn't inform you of not being prepared for at all). I eventually decided that in order to truly qualify for a career with a coaching company remotely that I would pursue a health-related bachelors degree at IU in Health Sciences that I completed in 2020. I am possibly transitioning to a position as a guide with ketamine therapy. I learned a wealth of knowledge from INN that has been applied to my life and my family and friends. However, most of it can be found elsewhere online and on KZfaq. IMO, the INN program does not fulfill its promise of preparing you to be a successful and financially independent health coach. Perhaps, in instances such as Food Babe, you can monetize through branding and creating your own products.
