I am moving the buildings from my offgrid homestead to a new location. It is a big move and for big reason and I wanted to explain why to friends on the channel so that we are all on the same page!
We also took about a few more issues that are causing confusion on the channel and clear them up to!
Traplines and Inlines Offical Merchandise: traplinesandinlines.myshopify...
Welcome to Traplines and Inlines
I have the pleasure of sharing my passions for the wilderness, building, fixing and all other things interesting with my great group of KZfaq friends.
I have lived offgrid in the bush for over 3 years, but now I am moving to the next chapter in my life and am building a big log home as my next place to live. It is going to be an incredible journey building my own home. I am using logs I harvested myself and plan to do most of the work by myself. This project will be the main focus of my channel, with many other adventures along the way im sure!
Thank you for watching

@@skinnflint Shame you're unable to discern the difference between religion and relationship . What's your problem with sharing one's faith with a young fella setting out in life ,needing spiritual guidance just as importantly as guidance in other areas of his life. Whose lies are you believing that says we can't share the saving grace of God with all people ??? It's sad that you have a problem with your Creator and don't want others to meet Him. I pray you have a serious encounter with HIM and you choose to get of that train destined to eternal damnation.

Really looking forward to your log home build. The first time I ever saw a scribed log build was on a show called The Last Alaskans. Since the show wasn't really about building, they didn't go too in depth about how they get the logs to fit so perfectly. When you mentioned a year or so ago that you wanted to build a log house, I hoped you meant a scribed one. One of the main reasons I enjoy your channel is how well you explain the process and the reason you chose it over anthoer way. Plus, you're funny and honest about when something didn't turn out the way you were hoping and what you're going to do instead, I like to see the learning curve in action.

I would move the cabin if I was in your situation. I had a friend that did basically the same thing you're planning on doing. He was concerned about it being too top heavy as well. Decided to build outriggers on the trailer for more stability, and installed anchor bolts on all four corner on the first and second story. Never strapped anything over the roof like you had to do with your other buildings, also used diagonal braces down the sides to help with shear stress. Granted it was a slightly bigger cabin than yours, it worked out perfect in the end. It took two years to build the house so it was definitely worth it for him. Whatever you decide I'll be looking forward to watching it all unfold. Thanks for all the great content brother

I would try to move the cabin. It can stay at the site and be future playhouse for the rascals. Cause eventually you are going to find a nice corn fed townie that packs your lunch everyday... And with the knowledge gained you can whip up a little outpost or two in the deep bush for trapping or other activities.

Thinking about the old cabin. If you get it there youre only even taking it for a place to crash while you build the log house. So cut it down and leave it as an 8 foot tall box. Its only temporary anyway but it sure would be nice to have at the new homestead. And of course itll be far more stable mable.. Youll figure it out.
