The problem is not so complicated. You see, India is a fragmented country -- before the British came, there was no such a nation as India. The land was populated by hundreds of small kingdoms and fiefdoms, with different languages, customs and religions. Now that they are a country, they are still divided. For the scheming politicians, the easiest way to unite the people is to have a common enemy. If there is none, they will create one. And China is an easy target.

Did Jayant not say their culture have no concept of honour ?!😅 This could be another significant reason. Meanwhile, Chin a has a highly developed concept of honour. There's a negative clash of compatibility here as a base relationship already. Then, with much modern global industrial supply chain's parts & components coming from Chin a, decoupling from them means it's further going to be tough to develop your industrialization by excluding them !? Always remember that career politicians, and they are many in India, are not the best businessman with vision ! Also, it is clashing with Chin a's leaders who are more an experienced administrators than politicians. 😊

They want to have Chinese EVs built in their country for access to the jobs and technology but reluctantly not necessarily giving access to their domestic market. Question is does India have the charging infrastructure for supporting EV for it to be sold there? I suspect that the decision-makers in India are not really serious about their economic development, but are more concerned about political tricks. Take China as an example. When China was determined to develop its economy rapidly, the first step in China's plan was to improve relations with the United States, China's biggest enemy at that time and the world's most powerful industrial power, and to settle disputes, and even make compromises and concessions in all aspects to quickly introduce foreign capital. What India is doing now is to be an enemy of China, the biggest industrial hegemony in the world today, and to cut off its ties. I think Indians are either arrogant to think that their plans are superior, or they do so out of non-economic logic.

Because of nationalism and national pride, both nations are stupid enough to fight over the bitter cold and useless mountain territory. The ultimate loser would be India if it continues to reject Chinese investments, economic cooperation and internet related businesses and financial and social media. The world will be a better place for everyone if nations are cooperative and amiable instead of aggressive and hostile. India, don’t let the stupid border dispute derail your economic rise. Those articles on which this video is based don't tell the full story. 1) That 1.25 lakh crore/$15 billion and the 100,000 job gain loss figure is given by The India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) and Manufacturers Association of Information Technology (MAIT) lobby groups. These lobby groups have many Chinese companies like Oppo, Vivo and export import companies from China and Indian business addicted to Chinese parts. The assumption they took is - if they had access to the huge supply chain of cheap electronics form China, they would have been able to bid for larger export contracts, and *if they would have won* , they and would have generated employment. 2) The truth is that Western countries are increasingly prohibiting Chinese vendors from bidding. So Chinese companies want to take a large share of the supply chain through sub contract from Indian companies. It is likely even if Indian company would have won the bid(s), *large share of the bid and jobs would be generated in China, not India* . 3) What we know clearly is that we cannot be afford to do business with a country that covet our land. India has a huge and growing trade deficit with China. China is using the trade surplus to balance its economy and in an indirect way, this benefits the PLA. *Giving business to a foe is not just stupid, its suicidal* . I am sure Chinese people understand this. They are also patriotic. Would they give business to a foe? 4) We know at any moment, China can attack Taiwan and that will cause a domino that will affect India. *Our supply chain need to be resilient* given our electronics industry, even after these restrictions on China, is still addicted to Chinese parts which are 90% quality of Western counterpart at 60% price.. 5) In recent years, our electronics sector have boomed and *we are in the process of transitioning from assembler to manufacturer* . Its true that still many downstream component are being imported, but we can import form other nation than China when possible, albeit at a higher cost, hence the short term pain. But this is doing us a world of good as this pain is motivating us to develop capabilities in house. When the world decouples form China, which I think will be complete in the next 8-10 years, India will be poised to generate 10's of thousands of jobs in electronics industry with mostly in-house supply chain, and that is not speculative. You can do as much propaganda you like, but China's time as the manufacturer of the World is coming to an end. You should worry about job loses in China. I am sure already the departing investment are pinching. It is only the start.

Only 4% of India exports are to China. You seem to have an overinflated sense of your own importance. In fact China gets the trade benefit a lot more at $100bn of exports vs $16bn of imports from India. You're talking to a civilization and not your minion for your geopolitical aims like you claim "thailand, cambodia happily joined". In your mind China is the side, nobody else is a side. Everybody else just joins along. You seem to have skipped out on Chinese companies spying activities. I'll happily share those links with you if you'd like. India is already way in front in the world by population and will not be beaten in the foreseeable future and the Guinness Record will be secured at least for the next 50 years, that is an astounding achievement and should be congratulated. So, the job lost is nothing since Modi can come up with magical solutions.

I'm from India. There has been no shortage of electronics goods here. Actually, demand has dropped in the last 5 years. It started first with families scrapping their bulky desktop PCs. Now phone demand is also falling. The one industry that has taken a serious blow since India imposed trade restrictions on China is the repair industry. Can't repair without availability of affordable parts. So repair shops have also started closing down. India is currently ruled by Gujarati leaders who are culturally very decisive. They were hopeful of cooperation with the Chinese govt in the first 5 years but have finally lost patience. And as I said, the Gujarati people are decisive by culture.

Pakistan is leading towards it's own Destruction just like srilanka . So no thanks we don't need Chinese support and investment in India . There is a reason people all around the world say believe in your grandpa toy more than a chinese toy. Also for your knowledge yes we may be growing slowly with many difficulties and setbacks within roads .but atleast we are independent . We have the freedom to choose . Also history always says those who grow fast , climb higher always falls harder. So no need to worry gentlemen with two face . China got rich due to Western countries wanting cheap labour. India has Scientists and CEOs that are head of global brands. It's due to a very good educational system that arms the children with confidence and knowledge. Credit to be given to China for its success. But remember Hong Kong Nationals have propped up Chinese wealth all thanks to the UK. Chinese government simply needs to tone down its land grabbing habits. Taiwan and Tibet do not belong to China. COVID is another sore point. The world suffered and China got richer firstly by exporting COVID and selling PPI equipment.

Why is China so concerned about the lack of jobs in India? If the Indians do not want Chinese investors, so be it. The Chinese already have more than a 100 Billion USD trade surplus with India. When you kill Indian troops on the borders, and occupy large tracts of Indian territory, and lay claim to the State of Arunachal Pradesh, why will the Indians have any incentive to let the Chinese invest in India?
@jayy198014 күн бұрын
Hahahahah Indians should go read a history book and find out what the hell Pradesh is, and how in the world india can even open its mouth to claim territory 😂 hint: British invaded it in 19th century and China never once agreed with the British on it. If it was already part of India, why would British have to invade it since they already controlled India? Can’t answer?

India is much too big for China to take on. China's attempts to do so are largely failing. Second, the over-production bubble in China is popping -- from real estate to consumer goods, right across the board. China lacks markets to export all these surpluses which means it is taking on huge losses. Third, western powers are anticipating war/s with China and are pulling out. The country is regarded as a major threat to their interests. Lastly, what China fears most is the growing India-US relationship. US has strong allies and potential allies like India. China has a growing list of strong enemies.

EU buys a trillion dollars worth of Chinese goods. They're not banning. It's growing. And Africa. All of ASEAN. Middle east. Brazil Latin America. They understand that china is key to their growth. They're not going to destroy their economy by paying 15 times more for the same rail system or same car that is of the same quality or lower. Even Russia is buying more from China and so is Germany in Chinese supply chain. China does not care about pushing others down. That is a western mentality that indias think of because of centuries of western colonialism and enslavement of Indians. China wants growth for all to benefit all. It's India loss at the end
