I find Indonesia way underrated when it comes to a great place to retire. If you like nature, a tropical climate, a lower cost of living, and dating gorgeous women then you should put Indonesia on your list of potential retirement destinations.

Why great place to retire , because living in Indonesia doesn't have a lot of pressure , people can live relaxed without caring about social circles and don't care about any brand , especially if living in the countryside still maintains a culture of mutual cooperation or a culture helping each other

As wanita Padang i like to stay in west Sumatera, just issue tell that people at west Sumatera is too religious, its nothing, people there are very well come to my husband. I like to go to towns in Indonesia that are high above sea level. You get beautiful nature, no pollution, firiendly locals and cool weather. The infrastructure in java island is quite good, esp the train and road system, and airports. E.g. Malang is a good place to retire, I think. If you don't like the pollution in Jakarta, can definitely consider smaller cities in Java (Semarang, Jogja, Solo). Semarang is developing quite fast, with good existing shopping malls (Queen, Paragon) and upcoming malls (Pakuwon). Bali is very congested, but Denpasar is actually not as bad as places like Canggu in terms of traffic. Also Denpasar has good shopping centres, and is not that far from Canggu and Ubud. Generally, life in Indonesia is more relaxed compared to places like Spore or some big cities in China. The family system is still very strong, so crime is low despite low income (young people can always go back to their families in the villages if they fail to get a decent job in the cities).

A friend of mine spent about 6 months in Indonesia over 50 years ago, he spent his time travelling mostly in Java and Sulawesi. His experiences had a lasting effect on me as at that time it was a very unexplored country. Over time obviously Bali has become the main destination, but the rest of the country still is not on most people’s radar. I’ve been to Sumatra, Java and Lombok, there’s so much more to discover, that gets very little attention or promotion to the average tourist! Cambodia has the easiest visa!

I have watched many of your other videos on dating Indonesian women and you make it sound very accessible but in this video you seem to make it sound difficult. At least that is the feeling on got from this video. The infrastructure in the Phillippines sounds like a nightnere to me. I rather find a wife in Indonesia but I don't want to live in Jakarta. I thought Yogyakarta is not that bad for dating. I have not been but many girls have showed interest to me on Bumble. Of course, I don't know who good their English really is and I don't know if they will be gold diggers or something like that, or not.

Many Indonesian girls are interested in getting to know Western men. Eventually you have to put your boots on the ground in Indonesia and start meeting these women to find out for yourself if they suit you or not.

about visa, imo it worked effectively. change it and indonesia will stop being amiable towards her tourist. heck, indonesian has started to resent their fellows in bali already. just online though, but still count as powderkeg. two things; first, Indonesian acquired their independence by blood. they're proud of it, most of them now still dream to do it. now they can't obviously so they shift it towards family. as a foreigner you have to consider it seriously, even in big cities. second; in moslem's cultural guidance. you are required to entertain your guest. to make them feel welcomed for at least 3 days. longer is better but a person patience is finite. Indonesia is not a moslem country (they're proud of it btw) but everyone has ingrained this custom subconsciously. it means that you have to prevent them to think that you've overstayed. or worse, recognize you as a person in a bad way tldr; as a foreigner, its citizenship or nothing. as Indonesia don't accept dual. if you want women you're welcome to try. as 'fixing descendants (genes)' is still viewed as a positive

The simpler is to create a company (PTPMA) and employ yourself so you have a work permit. What about you Marcel ? You’re not at retirement age and yet you’re staying in Indonesia for a long time, no ?

I think there are more women in Bali that have English. But there are also more jaded women in Bali because of the tourism. More women scammers like in the Philipines

Indonesia not only bali dude 😀if you meet women who work in nightclubs, yes many of them are a little deceptive, but if you meet women who work in offices or women who have their own business, they won't cheat on you

Thanks mate but not exactly a great summary for Indonesia more like reasons not to retire there would have been a better title, lol. I live in Bali btw and hardly any foreigners here in Denpasar. Its not all Seminyak, Kuta, Ubud here only..

Very bad place to retired , can’t even relaxing one day in bali , the bigger traffic in the world , the bigger pollution, average age Balinese age is 60 year old so is tragically age because of bad life , stressful etc , mostly coming to bali poor USA or Australia people who can afford stay in own countries. South Europe is the best for retired average age in 100 years old

It is not poor Americans, Australians or other Westerners who can not afford to live in their home countries any longer that move to Bali or other destinations. They simply DO NOT WANT to afford to live that overpriced lifestyle as in many Western countries. Those who are smart, managed to secure assets and funds make a move to places to protect their assets and where quality of life and value for many is far greater. But yeah sure, you might find a loser among them from time to time...
