The rythm and the vibe of the song, musically, comes from hihats and percs. Bring them front, pan them properly, play with frequencies and add variation.

About fruity limiter: just make a template- open a new project, get rid of limiter, add whatever you want (good limiter, soft clipper, etc.) Then save it in the templates folder of FL

19 yrs in I could say all of these are true...The tips are very basic honestly, but they are the most overlooked. Everything he mentioned I'm all over. I stopped using FL, but this carries over to anything you use. Also for cutting the low end on you're instruments...cut accordingly. 808 driven beats yes cut a good amount...some beats you just want a little more low inthe instruments.

A true peak of -0.0dB is still distorted. Aim for -1 or -3dBFS instead. Your mastering engineer is gonna love you for leaving enough headroom :D
@perazzibeats9559
@perazzibeats9559 2 жыл бұрын
If you're working with artists it's alot better to leave headroom but for youtube and selling beats online people need to hear the "mastered" product in the video.
@xKrizel
@xKrizel 2 жыл бұрын
@@perazzibeats9559 Yeah but you would master the finished song for the album, not the beat. Mastering is much more than cleaning up the sound, for example setting fades and pauses between tracks, leveling and arraning tracks to give a coherent listening experience, inputting metadata, creating a ddp image and more...
@perazzibeats9559
@perazzibeats9559 2 жыл бұрын
@@xKrizel Obviously. But go listen to a bunch of beats online. You can tell those that just put a softclipper on and think it slaps because some dude on genius told them to do it and now everyone thinks it's all you need. Compare that to those that use compression properly, limiting and M/S EQ and there's a world of difference in terms of the quality. That is what I meant by "mastered" it clearly is not mastered hence the quotation marks.
@xKrizel
@xKrizel 2 жыл бұрын
@@perazzibeats9559 True, I mainly just use a Limiter set to -3dbFS with slight master compression, sometimes EQ if its needed :D

Yes!! A KZfaq vid that understands the importance of a low slope! Get rid of those ghost low frequencies your ears can’t hear, but a processor will and in turn react to it. I’ve always been like why allow your processing the opportunity to react to sounds you can’t hear? Anyhow… whatev. Great vid! Thanks for the tips!
