Very well delivered piece. I however cannot leave android for apple. Too many reasons, I am fully invested in the android world and everyday get new reasons why I shouldn't move to the apple side, top of the list being value for money and flexibility. By the time an android (Samsung) phone is costing 1k dollars, u would know why...it is either folding or doing something crazy like that. A friend of mine just lost all the stuff stored on apple cloud because she couldn't renew her monthly subscription with her naira card. They actually deleted everything on her cloud. She broke her iPhone and iPad and is now happy with her Samsung s21 ultra and tab s8 ultra!

Valid points and yes you're right most of the features we hardly use even though we are inclined to bragging with it. Personally I think it's also based on preference and what works for u. thanks for the clarity. And as for those who buy devices to bully others with will come to their senses now

lol... we totally understand what you're saying but we're sticking to our androids. Customisation, file manager, file sharing to other devices. I don't even have the time to use my PC. My phone does almost everything!!! My phone just works. Android 12 has had a little issues on the pixel but they've almost all been fixed .. Most of the issues I had with the iPhone has been fixed but I'll be sticking with the android for a while

A lot of your opinions on features are that they work better on iPhone than Android. You can't state explicitly what was wrong with them on Android and to me that's just your preferential bias speaking. I agree that iOS is a lot more compact an ecosystem, but phones with stock Android OS are quite compact too with ease of synergy with Windows PC. And let's not get into the highly significant limitations of having to use a Mac PC because of the poor synergy of iPhones and Windows

There are somethings I can agree on but, only in a business setting. I work in an IT department where we setup company phones. Most of the phones are iphones. They are nice when your user base is using them and can just have one set of knowledge base. For personal use though, that is were I split. Last time I fully used an iphone was back with the iPhone 5S and have used an iphone here and there and for work. To me nothing can beat the customization and just in general loading things like old versions of apps to get nostalgic. Recently I downloaded a PS2 emulator so I can play my favorite PS2 games while on break with an Xbox controller. For business use: iPhone For personal use: Android

I am using Iphone 12. I think android is better than Ios. Small details made it very easy to use in android. contacts, calendar, call log and even calculator are easier to use. I'm having a hard time arranging the letters between the words while typing this message right now. Either you have to delete the word completely, or try to come to the place where the wrong letter is by holding down and struggling. the predictions on the keyboard are very bad. It is difficult to guess even the expressions that I used constantly before. even if i install google keyboard i can't get its performance on android. the size or location of the letterboxes does not change either. I was able to adjust it exactly to my fingers on android. When I started typing a phone number while using android, predictions were coming up and I was choosing from there. Thus, I could quickly call numbers that were not in my contacts, but whose last 4 digits I remembered. Here you have to enter all the numbers one by one. It won't let me edit the menu either. I can't change icon sizes. I can't select 5 columns instead of 4. I can't see the pictures I put in the background. I can't leave blank pages. I can't sort alphabetically! camera video performance is good on iphone. but it doesn't set the iso or shutter. sound output quality is good. good for listening to music. Anyway, I don't want to prolong it any longer. The iPhone is regrettable.

The only time I will ever use my Android is for sideloading apps, and Apple is just so terrible in this case. I like to program mobile apps, games specifically. Programming a game on Windows is sooo much better than programming a game on Mac. The issue comes when it's time to put the app on a phone. I have to go through the extra effort to whip out my Mac (because Apple doesn't allow you to compile apps from a Windows PC), put my project on a flash drive, compile it on the Mac (which can take up to 30 mins sometimes) then copy it to my iPhone. Whereas Android all I have to do is compile it and copy it to my phone directly from my PC. There is nothing about the Android OS specifically that would make me use it over my iPhone other than that point.

I believe the part you mentioned the issue with social media Apps is solely on developers and not on Android itself, of which will eventually get better with time. I've used both OS and they're great, but I can't just sacrifice the flexibility of android for anything.

Kagan, you are very well spoken, and this as a fantastic video💙 Android phones can never be as refined as iPhones because of the open source developments. Comfortability in everyday task is very important on a cell phone, and for some, android cannot do that. So far I've settled on a Pixel 3, I don't know if I could switch after using Android for 10 years.

If you're saying this from a Nigerian perspective, then what's the point of iMessage. Lol. Most Nigerians use WhatsApp. And when it comes to user experience, sure, there is a lot of fragmentation. But I'd argue that all the phones running anything close to stock android (ZenFone, Moto, Pixel) are on the same level as iOS if not better when it comes to UX. The friend you mentioned is just a one off. I know people who use the S22 ultra and they swear by it. The Iphone got it's issues too when it comes to bugs. The only thing holding Android down which I'll agree with is that there isn't much synergy with Windows. And many don't even know what ChromeOS let alone care about it. And what's 'GearOS". Lol. There is no way I will accept Android being open-source as a negative. Yes, there are a lot of weak Android phones out there, but it still boils down to your needs, budget and preferences. I will pick ability over reliability any day. I will be able to setup what I specifically need in a smartphone right now and not have to wait till the next version of the phone comes out to get a new feature. It's an unending race to get new features on a new iPhone whereas, a good Android device can last years as there's ease of installing updates and features

I'm an android user and I think iphones are better. But I don't think they're worth the price. I'm using a 3yo flagship rn and I got it used for about 150 and this thing flies. I'd have to get a 12 or higher to come close to this performance and that'll run me around 400. So yes, the iphone is better but it's certainly not 3times better.😂

Heavily biased IMO. The only real point you have is the fact that Apple is a closed tightly knit ecosystem, and while that may seem an advantage now, it could very easily spiral out of control. The only reason that ecosystem functions well is cos as you said Apple gets to dictate the quality of what's allowed, and for the most part they do that well cos they have great developers. You so nicely forget that the same ecosystem advantage sort of limits innovation. Android phones are out here building folding phones, extra screens on the back of the phone, crazy cameras, and all sorts and that's only possible cos there's a stiff competition between android phone companies to outsell each other. Competition drives innovation and it's always better for the user at the end of the day. If you're looking for a good bang for your buck, then Android is the way to go if you're being honest with yourself. Apple makes great devices TBH (I know this having used an iPad for the past 7yrs, once used an iPhone and currently own a Macbook) but to think iPhones are better SIMPLY because of the ecosystem is just you submitting to the tactics of a capitalist ideology. In other words, they af carry you handicap. What about those who do not want an iPad, those who prefer windows to mac, etc etc. Apple is good at marketing and they have perfected the act of sucking you into their ecosystem so well that you actually start to justify buying their products even when deep down you actually don't need them. They refuse to give you split-screen on iPhone just so you can get the iPad. They refuse to give your iPad the possibility of running like a Mac (even though it has more than enough power to do so) just so you can get a Mac. They take away your headphone jack just so you can buy the airpods. Airpods sales on its own is classed as a fortune-500 company (if it were a company) They offer only 2 ports on their Mac (one for charging BTW) so you have to buy their dongles. They sell you a Pro display XDR for thousands of dollars but will only give you a stand if you pay another extra 1k lol. Nice tactics I mean I appreciate that they know how to do business. The game is the game afterall

Ummm idk how objective you're being, considering that you're an apple fein who seems to borrow or lightly tread android experiences. There is not that much depth to your comparison because you just haven't spent equal time with both devices. The title would be less contradictory if it was "Why Iphones are better than Android phones- Subjectively"
