Don't bother yourself with the U.S. americans. They only learn about their own history. So it's an indulgent thing on their side. That's not their fault, due to the educational system there. Brazil, without counting Alaska in the territory equation, has the same size of U.S. Continental U.S. = Brazil, in terms of territory.

SuperYoshiFan10090 Studios It's considered a stalemate only in America. Everywhere else teaches that 1812 was a failure in that US did not obtain (or annex) any British North American territory or really accomplish any strategic goals. Maybe you think it's a stalemate because you "stopped the British" and they couldn't retake the American colonies... but you're forgetting that France was the real threat at the time, forcing British forces to focus on the European continent. Wars on opposite sides of the world did not make sense considering the US was not a valuable asset compared to the Caribbean or India...

It was a British Colony, technically, that was brought into a war by the British and with America, but still fought as a separate entity. it's not.much different than what happened in WWI. Canada was brought into a war that had nothing to do with it by Britain because we were still techncally a British Colony. Wasn't till after WWI that Canada began to become a real Player internationally. At any rate it was troops from Upper and lower Canada that burned the white house, not British landed troops.

This is not a joke and not an exaggeration. Do not put your heads in the sand.
@Mindraker1
@Mindraker1 8 жыл бұрын
Dark Reins FATCA has nothing to do with incorporating Canada into the USA. It's just that US citizens who spend over a year abroad don't have to pay US taxes for that year. So, as you can expect, many US citizens who live in Canada with wealth in Canada are not reporting their wealth. The IRS still wants to know your income and wealth, it's just you don't have to pay.
@ReinsOfRuination
@ReinsOfRuination 8 жыл бұрын
That is not correct. U.S. citizens must always pay taxes to the U.S. on their world wide income no matter where they live either permanently or temporarily. FATCA is a U.S. law of compliance that Canadian financial institutions must abide by. Essentially, if the U.S. changes that law with amendments it takes effect in Canada as immediately as it does in the U.S. The Canadian government has no say in approval. Also, FATCA can effect anyone the U.S. feels is taxable (U.S. persons), it is not limited to U.S. citizens. Your response suggested that you have no idea what FATCA is really about.

In many ways, the nation of Canada was formed during its time under New France.

Not sure I’d say that these two nations have the largest trade relationships between each-other, it’s really a matter of what metrics you’re using. For example depending on the metric used one could find that China or Mexico are also the largest trade partner of the United States. Agree with everything said though generally. I think the relationship between Canada and the United States is quite unique in historical standards, and something that will likely be remembered for thousands of years.

Why would China be part of Alaska? Because Innuits have a heritage that ties in with the Chinese or Japanese? Alaska is part of Canada or atleast is the same landmass so why is Alaska not part of Canada, and why is not all of Canada Chinese? Same difference. Why is Hawaii and Puerto Rico part of the U.S. Same question different answer.

I call it the US or The States I never call it America some older people call the US "the Boston States". And it seems lately young Canadians (Millennials) are using the term "America" to refer to the US. And we Canadians don't say "Native Americans" we say First Nations.
@Wakayams

That's interesting! I didn't know that Canadians called Natives, "First Nations" I think I like that better. I don't know how it is in Canada, but I don't think using "America" to mean the US is exclusive to Millenials. Plenty of GenX'ers and Boomers call The States, "America".

Alex Romo. Europeans were in Europe long enough to take on their own characteristics, the Asians were not in the Americas long enough to take on their own characteristics. Even Chinese laborers coming to the U.S. in the late 19th century knew the "Indians" we're Chinese. Look it up.

Many of them with the persecution got out the maritimes provinces moving back to France, Louisiana, Québec and even Haiti. A lot of french ontarians has its roots in the acadian people which makes not only Les Québécois as french canadians.

If ur a women than ur born with more benefits and opportunities than a male here. As a women u get paid higher wage than men for the hours worked, you get more time off for personal reasons, u get more opportunities to get jobs to meet quotas, you also get more bursary for education and STEM, U have more social and healthcare funding to use, you get to retire earlier to receive pension than males, ur also less likely to die at workplace or commit suicide. And if u get divorce even if the women cheated, she will be entitled to her children, the house, and alimony for life. Basically Canada is a great place to raise a family that stays together because of the huge tax breaks and social services u pay in the taxes, but for a single guy its horrible because you will pay into a system much more than u will get back. for the single women its not that bad because u can still use most of the services. US: also has high taxes for single person, but at least here the opportunity to make money IS FAR GREATER!!! there is also much much more JOBS and cost of living is cheaper! So if u are a single man or a women its best to be here.
