I suspect that the Southern African growth rate is strongly correlated to that of South Africa due to its size relative to its neighbours. What happens if you adjust for that, or remove it since it’s an outlier. Also what are the growth rates of individual countries?

I love your work! Just as a reiteration, you'll realize that when South Africa goes down, it means Lesotho, Eswatini, and Zimbabwe go down with her. Only Botswana and Namibia are making great strides and seem like they can go it their own. S.A is already on a downward spiral. It also has more unique challenges than any other African country. East African countries are a bit different. Also, these two regions have different relations among their people; they've different types of investments and resources.

Thanks for watching. I'm very scared for the southern regions particularly Zimbabwe as we depend so much on imports from South Africa. We are too behind. I don't know how Namibia and Botswana have just subtly did their own things quietly. Maybe an idea for another video haha.

Bro. Are you suggesting that SOuth African world class infrastructure is outdated?
@jilokizito1705
@jilokizito1705 2 күн бұрын
Yes, S.A and Namibia have the best infrastructure, but again do you realise that South Africa's infrastructure is getting wasted and vandalised gradually each passing day? Some industries have collapsed. Roads are no longer being well maintained unless it's in certain provinces like W.C. The state of that infrastructure is becoming quickly as dilapidated as the country's downward spiral economically. While these E.A countries are growing, S.A is collapsing.
@jilokizito1705
@jilokizito1705 2 күн бұрын
It's being vandalized each passing day, and you can't compare the South Africa of today, 2024, with that of 2020. The S.A government isn't doing it any favour, too. The thing is, South Africa's so-called world-class infrastructure isn't world-class anymore. Ask those who've been around for over 50 years, and they'll tell you.

@@jilokizito1705no the problem with South African infrastructure is that we tend to rather build something new than to take care of something old, so the matter of SA infrastructure being dilapidated isn’t because infrastructure in general is falling, but it’s just that in some areas it has, but none the less more infrastructure is being built much more, much faster than the old dies out, so the matter of the fact isn’t that SAs infrastructure is getting less it’s just that we are getting more while at the same time neglecting the old

SADC is the most developed, powerful, stable and financially superior region on the continent followed by North Africa then East Africa, so no you are wrong on that, I mean some of the East African region members would rather have duplicate sittings in both EA and Southern Africa, that shows that they don’t even fully trust their EAn region enough to commit to being a full member of it

Most Southern Africa nations, especially South Africa, are still great 👍. Just that they got independence recently compared to the Eastern front, who have been independent for almost 80 yrs. Another key important aspect is the population, which gives the East an upper hand. With time, they will beat the East, given that the Southern front has little corruption index, good governance systems, and abundant natural resources. East Africa 🌍 poor planning will slow the front progress in the near future.

You wanna know why? As a Southern African who is greatly exposed to East and Southern Africa,l will tell you this: 1. The unity in southern Africa culturally is weaker than in the east. 2. East Africans aren't filled with an inferiority complex in the presence of a white man like Southern Africans do evidenced by their politicians being remote controlled by the USA and UK. Only Ruto is like Southern presidents in East Africa. 3. Eadt Africa has must in economics to exchange than Southern Africa. 4. East Africa has a culture of productivity and building synergies than Southern Africa with a culture of consumption and breaking bridges. At community level,East Africans are authentic and Southern Africans are extravagant in white collar jobs that kill development at grassroots level.
