In the past, when firefighters had horse carriages before motor trucks, they used Dalmatians because of the special bond between horses and Dalmatians. It’s a coincidence that Adum is a horse and Gael is a Dalmatian.

Dalmatia is a coastal region of Europe (West Balkans) which resides in modern-day Croatia. That's where the dog breed is from, hence the name. I hope you enjoy this geography-dog fact.

IIRC, Dalmatians HAVE to be trained or else they’ll be extremely aggressive. A lot of people adopted Dalmatians after Disney made them popular with 101 & 102 (especially families). To make a long story short, there was a significant increase in Dalmatians found in animal shelters or just straight up abandoned.
