Not smoking is definitely doable, weight and exercise is also manageable with a good and consistent schedule. On the other hand the rest isn't always up to us, you can't be certain water filters actually filter the bad stuff and diet can be a tricky thing if you work a job when lunch breaks are short, forcing you to either cook ahead of time yourself or simply go to a fast food joint or buy a quick sandwich. Not being stressed out is also not fully controllable as again, it depends on the kind of job you got. And no, quitting your job isn't as easy as it sounds because job or not, dread it, run from it, the monthly bills arrive all the same and with them extra stress. tl;dr : stress is the the only thing upon which your control of is very limited as it depends on your financial situation, your job and a whole bunch of different criterias you can't always predict. Any change induces stress as it creates a new variable in an environment of already switching variables.

No-one ever seems to mention a further likely factor: increasing use of psycho-pharmaceuticals. On the one hand, I would never advise anyone as to whether they should take them, or what the dosage should be. (If they help, then take them)... *But*, a known 'side-effect' - so powerful that exactly the same drugs are used to chemically castrate sex-offenders - is that these drugs vastly reduce testosterone levels. And they're being prescribed for a huge proportion of the population by now, and in higher and higher doses for less and less credible 'disorders'. Possibly contributing to increasing gender-uncertainty as well, but certainly causing lower testosterone levels. I suspect that the subject is just too sensitive, though. 'Yes, everyone knows that - now, shush'. :/ :)

@@LancesArmorStriking It's not straight forward. There's great variation in western countries. Though you're right if you take the entirety of the vast country of Russia the average allergy is significantly lower than Europe. Also it's very interesting how incredibly regional what you get allergic to is. It's regional even between countries in Europe. Most easily explained by the hygiene hypothesis. Basically if your country doesn't generally serve a certain kind of food or you're too clean you're more likely to get various allergies.

Well here's a few factors to consider: 1. Education- if you want a good job, you need an education for it. 2. If you can't afford education, you're probably not going to make a liveable salary. 3. You need a secure place to live in order to start and raise a family. 4. The real-estate market is so darn high, most young people can't afford to buy a home. (So most young people live with multiple roommates) 5. Most people wait until they're established in their life (have a house and a secure job)to have children but that doesn't happen until 30s-40s. 6. When a women is in her 30s her fertility rate falls to about 15% 7. Men are getting affected by climate changes and plastic 8. So you need to do IVF to have a child, but guess what you can't afford that because insurance doesn't cover it. 9. Adoption is super expensive. So ultimately, young people aren't making enough money during their fertile years to have children. None wants to have children if they can't afford to house and feed themselves. It's a cruel reality... to bring a baby into this world knowing there's nothing you can do to make your child's life better than yours.

@@RoScFan You control population with other methods, not by dropping fertility. Ideally, you want to completely prevent pregnancy when you don't want, but immediately get it whenever you want. Dropping fertility really messes with the later. I know for the average person, it probably doesn't affect much. But for a lot of people with already inherent low fertility, they really struggle with it. Not to mention using contraceptive methods and delaying pregnancy to older age, which are the tendency in the modern world, also contribute to reducing fertility by themselves. You may think it's fine now, but it's gonna be a problem pretty soon (already in several countries). Adding more fertility reduction by stress and reprotoxic chem into our lives doesn't help.

I don't usually have complaints about the videos on this channel, in fact they are generally instructive. In this instance though many little things don't add up: -There is a not-so-subtle attempt at establishing a link between sperm count and "global fertility". "Global fertility" isn't clearly defined here. Is it the birth rate or something else? If it's the birth rate, then that wouldn't not be the result solely of lower sperm count. Contraception, delayed age for marriage and procreation and financial pressures would be far bigger causes. -The role of obesity and other factors is totally overlooked in favour of a detailed analysis of BPA and plastics. But nowhere is there any data showing that plastics are the major cause of sperm quality loss rather than obesity or lack of physical activity for example. I am just hoping the other causes were not overlooked for reasons of convenience or political correctness.

TLDR: Why is Global Fertility falling Also TLDR: Really just in the West

Their data is from the west, but water quality issues are far from the worst there... If you extrapolate from that you can imagine that it's a global problem

TLDR Quote: 1:18 "Sperm counts have been falling since the 1970s and especially fast in the Western World." In other words, sperm counts have been falling globally, only fastest in the West. Also sperm counts and fertility are two interlinked, yet separate topics. And while western countries have the lowest fertility rates today, they have dropped far quicker in developing countries during the last decades.

My Dad was shown that movie while he was attending the USAF Academy in the early '60s. He said before they saw it, there wasn't much interest among his class in going to SAC. After they saw it, there was no interest among his class in going to SAC.

What isn't talked about enough is vitamin D. Lack of vitamin D will lower testosterone and sperm count. People are spending more and more time indoors and the lack of sunlight is going to affect vitamin D. I highly recommend everyone take a daily supplement. I've noticed it has helped me a lot.
