For example if a pitcher could lift his leg, take a stride towards home and then pick off that with be completely stupid. The ball rule stops that from happening

5:10 runner thought it was caught, so was going back to his original base, but it was really gone, and the runners passed each other, so no homer, he is out, and other runner has to go back to original base. 6:00 ump thought the catcher had the ball, so he would have been out. Ump overturned his call and called him safe after the fact.
