For me knowing that everything I do in my survival realm contributes in some way. Making creeper farms are tedious, but it will give us the gunpowder needed for tnt and rockets. Making villager tech can be tiring, but it will provide us with enchanting books, iron, and so much more. Documenting events might seem boring and useless, but 4 years down the line we will be reminiscing about what we did back in the early game. The more work I put into something the more I and many others will get out of it. Additionally, knowing that others will grind the game WITH you makes it so much better. If it weren't for my friends I wouldn't have deforested an entire forest or dug out a huge portion of the desert. And if it weren't for that, progress on my megabase would be so much slower. Having just a few people willing to put in the work can make the grindiest of tasks much more fun. The grind in Minecraft can be boring sometimes but knowing how it will benefit you and knowing how to find enjoyment from it can go a long way.

I can't begin to describe how much I share this feeling with you. For almost a decade, me and my friends struggled with that issue of getting bored with our world after end-game gear. I saw Philza's projects and saw some hermitcraft stuff and thought "wow I know I'm good enough at the game to make this kind of project, and so is my friend". So I told him I wanted to make yet another server but this time it would be different, I wanted to play for years, make insane projects and surpass myself in every way. I wanted all of my projects to be describable as "Grandiose". We started that world and my friend made a nice cozy base but nothing more ambitious than what he did in the past. When he saw what I was building for my base, he realised I was very motivated and had high ambitions, he saw I was aiming much higher than we ever did. Well, to his credit, he legit abandonned that base and all he had done and started making a base just as ambitious. I can't explain how happy I was to see and feel that my friend actually got it, he knew what I meant and he was going for it. From time to time, while browsing Reddit, I would stumble upon very ambitious players and would invite them over for a tour and let them know about our very small, private community. A few players joined and made bases that are juste as crazy, I have ended up in possession of a beautiful minecraft world with many grandiose bases and I couldn't be more thankful for it. We started this map in 2019 and we are still playing and building on it even today. We have around 7000 hours of playtime between the two of us and we have the most amazing bases we will ever have. And this is all on vanilla Minecraft. We played many modpacks in the past and while they are very fun and make you play for longer, unless you think of big, time demanding projects, you get the exact same issue that happens in vanilla: Boredom. If you would ever like to visit us, talk more about this issue and maybe get some great inspiration for your future playtimes, fell free ton contact me, we'd love to show you what we've done :) Discord: simisful

I think the fun i have in minecraft now is mostly doing challenges i create for myself. Superflat survival (no structures) is one. Otherwise im trying to learn redstone and build in creative. I dont play minecraft much anymore due to the problems you mentioned, only real hope for me is creative and trying to build small and creative things

I think a good balance is doing things in the game that you find fun after you do anything that requires grinding. Always helps me refresh and find a new project. Great video btw cant believe you only have 30 subs.

Try Beta 1.7.3. I was really surprised how fun and meaningful everything felt. Everything is a lot slower (no horses, sprinting, enchantments, or elytras) but everything you do feels like it means more. There are less blocks to build with so it’s less stressful to build. It’s just a lot simpler, reminds me why I loved Minecraft. But I’m not sure how much other people would like it, probably pretty niche to enjoy this version over newer versions. But try it out

I struggle with this SO much. For some reason I cannot bring myself to just survive, as if I'm obligated to build nice and big houses. But I don't have hours and hours on my hands so I switch to creative and... what am I to do with everything I've built? I can't survive in it because I already have everything I needed, and if not, I'll have to grind.

The grind is great, _when it means something._ If grinding out a million gold meant something, then it would be fun. But I need some reason other than just to say you did it.

grinding in a game like minecraft is pointless unless ur doing it for a reason(content, a competition etc) like i could go grind in an mmorpg instead minecraft is more like a game i play just for fun when bored
