I find myself just watching bpytop. I'm a lot happier with my CPU fan watching the temp in bpytop.

I’m having a blast sorting through my old laptops and seeing if Linux can bring them back. Number two is an old Toshiba that was barely worthy of a 64-bit OS. After watching this bpytop was the first program I installed, after watching this. I’m moving from knowing nothing to knowing next to nothing, hi hi. Thanks!

@@temporarilyoffline Will do! I have GOT to get a wire in the air so I can play HF, and when the rubber meets the road there, I'll see what, if anything, gives me grief. I have to say, Linux Mint and some help here and there have made it pretty easy for a barely-adequate Windows user.

Good utils video & useful. Thanks. What in your opinion is a minimum spec for a daily driver linux PC? I have a Pi 3B but it is too slow for YT and some other tasks. I would like to get an extra PC for as cheap as possible (maybe eBay 2nd user) but what processor would make a good compromise? (Pentium, i3, i5, generation#?) I would value your thoughts. 73

I have a video on my channel about using a pi4 4gb to watching netflix+prime+KZfaq. Videos are slow to get started, but do work and can even be sped up to 2x at 720p30fps. I also have an old business class HP pentium E6300, this is a dual core with 4gb Ram and it works about as well, maybe doesn't stutter at first. Both were less than $100. KZfaq is going to be the biggest strain on these machines because of our patience. It's much easier to wait for Libre office to open then to watch a video stutter.

Will you help? Mi pi4 8gb is so slooooow with eather Ethernet or WiFi. I have use raspbian, twister, Xubuntu, and recently wor.

I had a slow Raspberry Pi4. I had problems because I used USB boot from the beginning. I have an Sata to USB 3.0 adapter(for SSD), cheap one and I think it was causing problems with Raspbian. When I switch from Raspbian to Fenix Pi OS raspberry run much better. Now it is very smooth and I can playback KZfaq with no problems. My guess Raspbian would work fine with a decent SD card but If You would like to boot from USB i recommend Fenix OS.
