Oh my gosh, the cutest story time. So I have to get back injections every 4 months and they are super painful and I just dread the anxiety of each appointment. My dad takes me because I have to have a driver, and this time my 4 year old niece came along. I was talking to my dad about trying to manifest bravery and I brought up your channel and told him a little bit about it. I told him you end every video reminding people to be brave like Beckham. So I go in for my shot and make it through and head back out to the car. I get in the car and the first thing my niece said to me was, “were you brave like Beckham for your shot?” I literally got goosebumps and teared up a little. I had no idea she was even listening to the conversation between my dad and myself. I turned around and said to her, “I sure was!” One of the best moments ever. Also… I’m obsessed with the same Trader Joe’s dressing as you and I just discovered a game changer! Sprinkling everything but the bagel sesame seasoning on your salad with the dressing! I’m obsessed! Thank you for always sharing your story!

Have you thought about setting up a sensory table for Beckham to play with while he’s in his stander?? He would love that!

Beckham is doing so well with all his therapy!! I know we only see a few minutes of your day but I wanted to ask you a question/give a suggestion. When Beckham runs into the table, cabinet, chair, etc. does he get the opportunity to touch, feel, bang on, etc. the things he collided with?? I know sometimes he might get frustrated and that is why you get him “unstuck” quickly but being allowed to bump into items (obviously not too hard) and touch/feel them would be great for his cognitive development. If he hits the cabinet say something like “the cabinet is cold, hard, and smooth” or just label it so he knows he walked into the cabinet, table, chair etc. and this will not just help him learn but hopefully keep him a bit more engaged and help him start to develop some spatial awareness. He doesn’t seem to get frustrated when he gets stuck and will yell or cry to have you help him. This is awesome because he knows he has to get your attention in order for you to help him out. When he starts at school you may want to ask them about “switches” or “button” basically they are large circle buttons that you can prerecord with your voice to say a word or phrase when the button is pressed. Beckham is already a pro at the cause and effect toys and “switches” and “buttons” are very similar. Whether he is walking, sitting, or even playing the button can be within reach and if he wants your help or attention he can hit the button and “mom I want your attention” or “I need help” will be said by the button (or whatever else you programmed it to say). I have noticed that he is a lot more vocal and a bit whiney but in a very good way. He is using his form of communication to let you know he wants or needs something. Putting this skill together with his awesome ability to play with cause and effect toys I think it would be beneficial to ask his therapist (most likely speech therapist) to trial him on using “buttons” or “switches” for communication. I think he would do really well!!

You encouraged me to start my own KZfaq channel a few weeks ago to raise awareness and I’ve already shared my baby’s NICU journey and my birth video, hopefully soon I’ll post a video all about how we noticed our son was autistic and physically disabled and how we got him diagnosed because a lot of parents miss the signs. We are being brave like Beckham ❤️

Rachel, If you moved Beckham back from the TV a little bit when he is sitting up, he won't have to lift his neck back as far to watch TV....Just a thought...Love watching his progress as well as Blakely...God Bless your sweet family!!

A while back Hunter showed his SMOs. Is there a reason he doesn't wear them in the stander and gait trainer? Billy high top zipped sneakers work great with or without orthotics ( target has them). Great to watch his progress!! Kudos to all of you.

Beckham has improved so much, I was wondering as you have a good size garden and Blakely loves climbing is it worth investing in a toddlers swingset with climbing frame and slide? Also a small pool and her and Beckham can do water play and also you can use it indoors and outside filled with those plastic balls ie a small ball pit. 😘

Being angry is ok too. Its not as "attractive" as the other emotions but you're on top of so much and so so careful about everything, its ok to admit the anger and frustration that naturally go along with the circumstances. The anger needs expression so that it doesn't build up and become something not so nice. Take it easy on yourself, and all things will fall into place as they should...

He is my inspiration to live the best life, you rock Beckham. P.s. from my experience 24 years. Being born 3 mouths early, delayed, learning difficulties brain injury more and I myself was is physically therapy lots as a child and even as an adult - learning to walk with issues with balance. not " normal " - hate that word, he might have to take his time to get there but im sure he will. Have you tried having Beckham where is socks, AFO's and hi s converse shoes while he is in the gait trainer as that may help him with stability of his ankles and feet and may help push off with his feet a little easier. Or try having him stand in his stander before he does the gait trainer to stretch out his hip flexors first. It may also make it easier for him to bring he heal the way to the floor while in the stander his hamstrings, heel cords, abductors, and glutes are all getting a workout at the same time Try that for a short period and then let him cruise in his gait trainer. Keep up the great work and Go Beckham Go!

This is random but do you ever cook like homemade soup or something that cooks for a while that makes the house smell like food? It might help Bekham want to eat. It's not the best time in summer to cook.. maybe in a crockpot..

27:00 He definitely takes 2 or 3 unilateral steps! He's doing so amazing! And I know it can be worrying or frustrating from the parents' point of view, but remember that each day of therapy or practice will never always be better than the day before, and there doesn't always have to be a specific reason for less-good days. As long as it's not a pattern or plateau, it's ok. He's doing phenomenal! And I'm all for more therapy in the vlogs. There are tons of family vlogs, but there is only one Beckham. 💕

I don't mean to scare you but I know a few people who sleep with their blow dryer and two of the three have had house fires because of them. One have third degree burns of 75% of his body. other burned 80% of her body and her boyfriend died from his injuries... the other hasn't had an issue and still does it. But I worry about your children in a fire because of the hair dryer at night... if he wants to do it awake to warm his feet that's fine. It's when you're asleep with it running that isn't safe. I love hunter and I struggle with addiction so I understand it's hard. Just wanted to let you know from personal experience that fires happen often because of stupid hair dryers :P

Have you tried to put his orthroses on while he is in the gait trainer? Or stiff "high" shoes with lots of support?

It seems Beckham doesn't have custom made shoes, which puzzles me!xxx
