Fun Fact: -- I'm from Kerala. The first europian (Portugeese) Vasco Da Gama landeed in India on Kerala's Kapad beach situated in Kozhikode (British can't pronounce it and call it 'Calicut'). At that time Kerala was doing high volume spice trades with Arabs, Egyptians and East Asian countris. Mostly black pepper, gold and stuff where valued as treassures and Kerala is abundant with it. Vasco Da Gama tried to make a deal into that time's King of Kozhikode Samuthiri (British can't pronounce it and calls 'Zamorin') to make a trade deal. The Arabs where loyal trades unlike british and they where worried if British could steal there trade with Kerala, India. Unlike Arabs of that time who traded with us, Britishes had bad intensions. There plan was to make trade deals, slowly control by divide and rule. To everyone who's confused about Kerala and South India in particular. This is how Islam comes to south India. Through trade relations & trust. That's why you see a difference in people's attitude towards Muslims in Kerala or south India compared to North where Islam comes with war and brutal killings. So it's obvious and understandable. Also that's how India's first Mosque has been build. It's called 'Cheraman Juma Majsid' where 'Cheraman' was a Hindu King back then. The Mosque still standing proud in our state and is a symbol of our unity and history. By the way although all these happened and had many fights with British Kerala was relatively safe. And that's because Britishes had more focus on today's Kerala Karnataka border which is a small part at north of Kerala. Southern kindgoms like Kochi (Cochin), Kozhikode (Calicut) and Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) somehow resisted it by making some deals. Anyway past is past...! We're a beautiful country now, Union of states to be exact. let's work for our Nation, Rip off all colonial symbols, Be a proud nationalist, Love everyone don't disrespect every religion, Uphold our Indic values. This also helped the developement in kerala.

I am from kerala who has worked in UP for 4 years (1999 - 2003). In UP the politicians are taking the people for granted such as cast religion etc. whereas we the kerala people are competing with the west to enhance our living standards such as socio economic conditions and overall welfare of the society.

And went for higher studies in top college in city by using educational loan and got job offer after completing my college. I myself a first graduate from my family. Now my family is in good status. As a woman, I proudly says that without my family support I am not able to reach this place. This is the power of education and social justice here in tamilnadu which is already set by my rulers.

Mid day meals which was introduced by Kamarajar, the then CM, did not do his schooling, still understood the value of education. Interestingly, when he asked a child labour why he did not go to school, he asked him back who will feed him if he doesn't work. That how this policy was implementated. He was such a dear learder. I also wish the northern states develop as quickly as south india. All they need to do is focus on education. Everything else will fall into place automatically. Hope the change happens soon 😊

I am from Delhi. For the past 4 years, I have been working in Chennai. These 4 years I have learned a lot about life and people. Tamil people are collectively sweet and kind to even strangers. Initially I had the ego driving me acting like as a North Indian, I'm superior to the Tamil people and did not care about anything. But the karma played it's drama in my life. My mom was diagnosed with cancer and our family decided to treat her in Chennai. It was one of the popular cancer institute in the country. In the 20+ months of journey, so many Tamil people helped my family and supported us a lot. That too, mostly strangers. My relatives and friends in Delhi, they did not even care about my mom's life. I am so grateful to this Tamil people as without them, my family would be in so much turmoil and we would have lost my mom.

I am from northeast India and have experience both in North and South . Here is my opinion, South Indian are more attached to their culture yet they are very welcome and respectful to other cultures. South Indian are the first dweller of this country before North Indian and northeast Indian came to settle. They are old culture hence alot of wisdoms are there in the culture. I am from South India (Kanyakumari). Our politicians decided to give *free lunch at the school* to motivate poor parents to send their kids to school atleast for the food. This made a huge impact on literacy rate in south India. I have never seen anyone in my district who hasn't been to school.

The increase in literacy in South India, especially in Kerala, was due to the Christian missionaries who were there. They built schools, colleges and hospitals and taught children without discrimination of caste and colour. That's actually the reason for the increase in literacy.

Im a tamilian that grew up in UAE and my school had lots North Indians and Pakistanis. I used to disguise as a north indian to avoid being bullied and laughed at. Tamilians and keralites were seen as the weaker ones and our language was being contantly made fun of, even by the teachers. It has been my experience that South India is more calm , and sincere in duties. Theft is rare and women are very very safe . What is more important is the size of family. Even families below the poverty line do not have more than two children. Middle class is preferring only one child. I came to Hyderabad and have been 🌄living in Attapur for three .l have not seen a police man till today. People don't quarrel. Finally , the standard of education is high and even a domestic help strives to educate her children in a school where English is taught from class One! Peace, sincerity and dedication to work are the key factors of South's progress.

U have missed 2 points about Kerala 1. Christian missionaries efforts in providing education to all without considering caste or religion. 2.EMS government introduced the Land Reform Ordinance and Education Bill. In 1958.

A simple comparison. Last year's budget 13,000+ crores allocated for Northern Railways but only 59 crore allocated for Southern railways. When asked about this , the minister replies that "budget is allocated on behalf of population " . My question is , In a country which promotes population control , shouldnt it be spending on southern states which has good population control? Isnt it like punishing the south for achieving population control? And also note the difference. Even if its based on population, there is huge difference between 13000 crores and just 59 crores
